Agbalowomeri:Build the reserve or borrow our lives out.Why can't our own reserve grow in organic ways.is this not indirectly defending the naira by F government. U think the FDI don't know that the reserve is just being packaged by FPI |

Agbalowomeri:We'll keep trading what we see. How's high interest rate in the govt interest though, when they could be saving trillions off debt service, working towards a balanced budget and then looking good for the next ballot?? I don't understand politics much, but the maths says they should be pro low yields. |

awesomeJ:They are just coming from a severe devaluation regime. Naira stability first, others will follow |

Agbalowomeri:Low yields enhances the stability. High yields and dilutive to money supply. $50bn in reserves is realistic and sufficient in the near term. |

awesomeJ:Why do you want the rate to fall rapidly though? Is it so that it will positively impact the capital market? I think a sharp fall in rates will adversely affect the economy. Let them take it small small - slowly but surely. |

Streetinvestor2:Question 1: How much foreign loans have we borrowed since May 2023? Question 2: By how much have the reserves grown since May 2023? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 7:45pm On Nov 25, 2025*. Modified: 8:05pm On Nov 25, 2025 |
GeneralDae:Do I look like someone who is ready to answer rubbish questions. Why don't u say how much the government has made since it came to power that it has enough to be building the reserve. The last time I checked the budget is running on serious deficit because we are not meeting revenue target. Abi you don't know all those TB,saving bond ,foreign bonds are loans.. Bring the link to the last increase of reserve from 45 billion to 48 billion here and let see what made such huge jump.I hope u know oil output dropped in October . You are quick to quote this one and you are not seeing the failure of this government in the past 2 weeks.Under this failed government over 500 people have been kidnapped in 2 weeks plus killed ones..A general was killed like common chicken. DId u see the wife video lamentation on social media concerning this government. Thr only interest was for Kanu because 2027 election is the only thing that is thr interest. God is not wicked. They will be disgraced in 2027 |

awesomeJ:True this when I saw assymetric corridor changed from +250/-250 bps to what we saw this Afternoon. We might see discount around 14-15% for the longest tenure. Stop rate for last auction for 364days is at 16.06%. I'm guessing we are approaching the era of single digit rates come next year ![]() |

awesomeJ:True this. when I saw assymetric corridor changed from +250/-250 bps to what we saw this Afternoon. Nigeria mpr is one of the highest in Africa I think. NSEstudent:300bps isn't rapid given that there's been a 420bps drop in inflation in the intervening period. My want for lower yields is to limit money supply thereby increasing the currency's worth. High yields are dilutive. When your yields are below 5%, your currency will be worth more than those who keep yields above 30%. And yes, low yields impacts the market cos businesses can finance at a fraction of the current costs, the savings flowing almost entirely to the bottom line. It impacts government expenses too etc. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 8:41pm On Nov 25, 2025 |
Odunharry:That would be a great feat. Although compared to sometimes last year, they've already crashed yields by close to 900bps which is good. Let them do another 500. |

True.. as sad as it is. That is why the government cared less about this until Trump decided to shake them up. nosa2: |

nosa2:I totally agree with you. All men are not born equal. There are those who when they die, kings/presidents would come and guard cross their swords of honour while moving the corpse and there are those who when they die, would be buried in shallow graves like dead goats. |

emmaodet:I usually sell in the market out of what I already have and pick it up back by taking my rights if I want to trade rights. But this requires market price to be attractively higher than rights price. There are other official ways like filing the rights form portion for trading rights. Or getting in touch with broker to set up the rights for trading on the floor. Never used em. But aware. I bought PRESCO cheaper than rights today on the floor. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by SSpeter(m): 10:55pm On Nov 25, 2025 |
awesomeJ:we need to keep interest rates high because our currency is not yet stable. If you reduce interest rates you will encourage people like me to short the Naira. For example at reduced interest, I can borrow naira from the bank and pay low interest rates and then use the funds to buy USD. If the interest rate is low, I can take losses for a long time and wait for the Naira to devalue. Hence a high interest rate is a deterrence for such practice. |
