Ahh..
There's also the possibility of the meter having debt on it if you're not the landlord.

If there's debt on your meter, whatever you recharge, about 40-50% would go into repaying the debt.

So while i'll pay just 10k for like 150 units, you would pay 17 - 20k for the same units if we're in the same band.

Much worse if you're in band A, and your meter still has debt, that's double shege.

What does that even mean? If your property rights depend on who wins elections, who in their right mind would invest in any long-dated physical asset? In a country that desperately needs long-term, private investments in roads, airports, housing, energy, and yes, large-scale agrobusinesses, this is like shooting yourself in the head.

This stupid, short-sighted governor should immediately reverse.

Those Oil wells have been there discovered years before the land was issued to Presco with a Cof O.
If Presco goes to court, they have a good case.

And even if you think oil is the more profitable use for the land, this arbitrary process -- revoking by fiat -- is not the way to go about this.

But why is PRESCO not making a statement urgently about this or the Edo government disclaiming the report. They should not micro manage such information that is in public domain

I am beginning to think this Taiwo Oyedele does not know what he is talking about. He seems to be talking anyhow in desperation to please and impress the govt at all costs.
Who reduced the CGT rate from 30% (as passed by law) to 25%? For individuals, how did they determine that every person (or CG gain of N10m and above) is assessable to PIT at 25%?
Without the NASS amending the CGT law, any implementation of same contrary to what the law says is a breach of the law and provides a perfect opportunity for the implementation to be injuncted or scrapped all together.
Their demonic fixation on extorting and stealing from investors will surely hit the rocks! Clueless, reckless, money-sucking govt with nothing to show for all the revenue from subsidy removal, energy tariff hikes, floating the naira and countless loans taken all within 2 years.
