1. Chances of a Software engineer, not so good now, as this is over saturated.
2. Chances in the dental profession, good i reckon. So why not try to use a dental tech profile for your submission with your zero-work experience?

Disclaimer
This is my personal opinion.
Opinions can be thrashed.
He/she does not have experience and you need expereince between 1-3 years as a Dental tech

Hello everyone, please I need advice. I have read up on previous chats here but still a bit confused.
‎I am 34 yrs and I have a bachelor's degree in Climate Science and unofficial part-time work experience in this field for a few years. I also worked full time as a self employed fashion designer back then in Nigeria but my business was not registered. Now I'm doing a master's degree in Climate Science in Europe and I would like to know what my chances are for applying for Australia PR and how can I go about this. Thanks

the PGDE will be enough as long as there is a teaching practice of up to 45 days and you are sure you can achieve a minimum of IELTS Academic L8 S8 W7 R7.

Please note that your age point drops to 15 on your 40th birthday. You may want to do a point calculation to know where you stand.
okay, I will take note of that.

With the housing crisis, the options are
1. Have a partner and both you bring in a 100k aud annually. For a professional this is most possible.
2. Buy within your limit. Don't go to buy a 1million aud property.
3. If you are single, aim for apartments, units and townhouses as first properties.

Yes, weather is hot and the suns burns more here.
1. If you your job doesnt need working expose to the sun, if you have no problems.
2. However, if you need to work under the sun, wear long sleeve shirts, face caps and eyeglasses and yes, sunscreen and you are good to go.

Welll if you are having second thoughts due to the sun, there are lots of brits in aussie, and they all left Uk for aussie for the sun as well and they love it in Australia.

My humble 2 cents.
Hi btw is the AUS sun hotter/burns more than the Nigerian sun?

Very few people in Nigerian use sunscreen so wondering why people living in AUS have to use sunscreen.

Copied from google search

Australia experiences high rates of sunburn due to its geography, which places it closer to the equator, and atmospheric conditions, such as clear skies and low humidity, that allow more intense ultraviolet (UV) radiation to reach the ground. Additionally, the Earth's elliptical orbit means the Southern Hemisphere, including Australia, is closer to the sun in January during their summer months.

Geographical and orbital factors
Proximity to the equator: Australia's location near the equator means the sun is more directly overhead, and its rays travel a shorter distance through the atmosphere.

Earth's orbit:
The Earth's elliptical orbit brings the Southern Hemisphere, and Australia, closer to the sun during its summer (around January) compared to the Northern Hemisphere's summer.
Atmospheric and environmental factors

Clear skies:
Australia's climate often features clear, blue skies and low humidity, which means there are fewer clouds and less moisture to filter the sun's UV rays.

Reflective surfaces:
Surfaces like water, sand, and even light-colored pavements can reflect UV radiation, increasing overall exposure.

Ozone layer:
While not the primary cause, the thinning of the ozone layer over Antarctica has contributed to higher UV levels reaching the Southern Hemisphere, although global efforts are leading to a slow recovery.

You need experience and verifiable employment evidence to support that.
if you don't have those, you will not be eligible.
Your best option will be to focus on getting a job in your line of study after graduation.

There is no exam or occupation for an admin assistnat.
You may want to explore assessing as a Computer engineer but without experience, it may be difficult getting a nomination due to your points which may be low in comparison with the onshore guys.

Sincerely, IT is not the best occupation right now especially offshore. We are hoping things change soon

You might need to find other occupations

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Orgloan:
Hello,

Thank you for all the responses and guidance so far.

I hold a BEng and an MSc, and my work experience aligns with roles such as Organisation and Methods Analyst, Maintenance Planner, and to a lesser extent Engineering Technologist.

My spouse has an MBBS and is exploring healthcare roles he can work in while completing the AMC process.

I am currently leaning towards the Maintenance Planner pathway in the 491 visa and would like to know whether this is the best option for skill assessment and long-term career demand.

I also have reference letters from two of my employers over the last 2–3 years. Could you please clarify whether I need reference letters for all previous roles, or only for the experience that is most relevant to the occupation I’m applying under - especially since some earlier roles were not engineering-focused?

Finally, I would like to understand which occupation pathway gives me the broadest eligibility and is considered more in demand across the regions.

Thank you.

Hello Guru in the house,

Please I need some clarification on this.

Early Childhood (Pre-Primary School) Teacher

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189)

Primary applicant: B.A in Linguistics, University of Ilorin.
PGD In Education
Working Experience: 8 years in teaching primary school (Government school)
Age: 35

Spouse: BSc Computer Science Ahmadu Bello university
Working experience: 6 years in banking
Age: 39

Am to do my assessment with ACECQA

Please

1.Are we accessing the BA or PGD results.
2. Do we need to do assessment for the primary applicant and spouse results and experience?
3. Any information that will assist to help this application successful.

Any guidance from people who have done similar assessments would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Good day all, Thank you for all the comment, response and feedback on this thread. I really appreciate.

Please I want to apply for the skilled independent visa ( subclass 189)

Age: 29 years
Degree: B.tech Public Health technology from Futo.
Work experience: I worked one year in a primary health center as a facility health recorder.

Worked 5 years in a health tech firm. But we had a partnership or a contract with 100 primary health center in one of the Nigerian state which I was actively involved and it was a major part of my job role. We also had partnership with other private hospitals and facilities.

I want to apply for Primary Health Organisation Manager (ANZSCO 134213)

My questions are:
1. Can I apply for this role since my first degree is in public health and my work experience span directly and indirectly with primary health centers.

2. Since October last year I stopped working in a health related field and I’m now into design more like tech. Does it affect my application as for the past one year I do not currently work in a health field.

3. Is the occupation Primary Heath Organization Manager very saturated and do you think I can get nominated with a point of 65 to 75.

4. Do I need to provide evidence like payslip, tax ID etc when applying?

5. I currently have a masters degree though but it’s in web design and development. And since I want to use the health route, do I need to mention it in my application.

Please I expect your kind response and apologies for asking many questions at once. Thanks

Maintenance planner (MP) is only available on 491.
This is the information sheet for MP - https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/maintenance-planner

Engineering Technologist (ET) is broad, however in this process, the only constant thing is change.
ET being a good occupation could change in this current FY or next FY but it's still a good occupation and you can assess both MP and ET as they are assessed by different bodies.
You can read it and check if your role actually aligns.

You only need reference letter from companies you are assessing an occupation that's related to what you did there.
If you are assessing as an MP for example, you only need reference letter for every employer you have worked with as an MP

Early childhood is different from Primary School teacher.
ECT is 0-5 years while Primary is 5-11 because primary school starts from 5 in Australia.

During your PGDE, did you do your teaching practice in a primary school or an early childhood setting?

I want to believe your B.tech was 5 years (10 semesters).

Not sure how you arrived at Primary Health Organization Manager occupation. As the name implies, you need to be a manager managing the overall affairs of a primary health organisation.
Read the requirement in this information sheet - https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/primary-health-organisation-manager
be sure your role and employment information actually aligns. You will also need to provide an organogram to show your level, the teams reporting to you and the people you report to.

1. Yes, only if you meet the requirement in the information sheet above.

2. It doesnt affect your application. For Vetassess application, you need to submit the application for an occupation you are working in or have worked in in the last 5 years.. After 5 years, you will no longer be eligible. The only downside is getting a nomination. Some states may not nominate you if you are not currently working in your nominating occupation.

3. Not saturated but nomination on 75 may be a tall order because most doctors who are leaders go for this occupation to get into Australia and avoid AMC process while offshore until they are able to come in. It's worth a shot though!

4. yes

5. No you dont have to
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Orgloan:
Thanks for the information. I’m personally targeting the 491 visa. I noticed you did not speak much on Organization and methods analyst. As based on my responsibilities, Organisation and Methods Analyst (224712) is actually the most accurate ANZSCO match for my roles over the years.

My only question is about nomination viability, since 224712 isn’t on the critical lists.
Is it still a realistic pathway for 491 nomination, or would a closely aligned alternative like MP or ET offer a stronger chance?

If yes, you can assess it too but it's not a priority occupation. So it's a gamble

MP or ET are good occupations but they also have a lot of people waiting as well.
