Why I Refused to Exercise My VFD Group Rights Offer. VFD Group Plc was previously trading on the NASD OTC platform before its listing on the Main Board of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on 6 October 2023. Following the listing: - A scrip bonus of 4-for-1 was issued in May/June 2024 (based on the 2023 financial year). - Another scrip bonus of 5-for-1 was issued around May 2025 (based on the 2024 financial year). This meant shareholders effectively received a total of 9 bonus shares for every 1 originally held in less than 18 months—a generous "bonus jamboree." Then, in October 2025, VFD Group launched a rights issue of approximately ₦50.67 billion, 2 new shares for every 3 existing shares held at Qualification Date Friday, August 8, 2025. Around June 2025, the share price reached a yearly high of N17.05 (adjusted figures suggest significant value pre-adjustments). This was followed by heavy selling, including substantial volumes by company insiders. Participants on social media forums began raising questions: Why were insiders dumping millions of shares in a company that had just released decent financial results? And why, after showering investors with dividend of N2.50 and massive bonuses, was the company now asking the same shareholders to inject fresh capital via a rights issue? No satisfactory answers emerged. Indeed, no free meal in Freetown. The bonus is now being paid for at N10 per share for the purpose of business expansion, CEO and directors benefit. It soon became clear to many: The insiders appeared to have foreknowledge of the impending rights issue. They sold at peak prices before the qualification date, avoiding dilution, and could potentially repurchase at the discounted rights price (₦10 per share) or current market price N10 to N11). I'm not surprised that Nigerian investors largely shunned the offer, leading the company to extend the closing date multiple times—now to December 2025 (and reportedly further to 26 December 2025 due to possible low uptake). Suspicious Insider Activities and a Rights Issue That Shouldn't Have Been Allowed by SEC and NGX. The bigger question I kept asking myself: Is there no effective oversight unit at the SEC and NGX that could have spotted and prevented this apparent gross market infraction by VFD Group and her insiders? As Nigerians, we're used to it—everything seems to "go." There's little real protection for retail investors in cases like this, though SEC is working, and we all can see this, but better improvement is anticipated. I might be wrong, but time is always the ultimate revealer of truth in the markets. |

zendi:This is how one of thr insider scam alert came here to lie that kpakus and presco was targeting same asset. They had one of thr claimed audio who this was his targeted market as billionaire 247. Likely working for a stockbroker with the way he pushed every junk stock. They have switched all to different handles ThankGod I have blocked them all.i don't wish to see such characters again in 2026 on this thread. On another note, yes ngx is disgraced no doubt because of failed government Then again 2926 will be a reset for new beginning for some companies. They have done alot of positive restructuring which will begin to show in thr quarter results 2026.Some will definitely deliver 100% and above in SP based on fundamentals. If you get eyes u suppose don dey see them.i have seen some based on that and street. They are about to be the next growth story of ngx as we plan our retirement from 2026 -2030. .I prefer the 5yrs time frame as cycle..e get why |

Panadee:65 yrs retirement na for person way like suffer for my side..Who I dey gather the money for when the kids could have thr own plan.I am planning to stop anything that requires my active participation in making money in the next 5 yrs.And I have noticed things tend to change in 5 yrs cycles in businesses life time. I want to go do things I like and make me happy in the next 5 yrs.If possibly see the world too. Look at companies u can pick quantity They raised funds and did true restructuring in the last 2 yrs with 2025 already showing growth in in thr results. Not kpakus and jp that are still building promises. Not the ones trying to raise funds now that are seeing shege. This ones thr balls are already rolling. They will definitely return minimum of 100% next yr.They acted fast enough and thr managements are relentlessly serious to deliver for themselves too |

Streetinvestor2:Repeating the same argument over and over does not make it true. You observe reality to determine whether what you believe actually holds up. Unless you belong to the overly religious camp that thinks saying the same thing from morning till night somehow changes outcomes, the “power of words” crowd. My view is simple: if something is not within your physical control, you cannot change it by talking alone. You’ve said your piece, and it’s always the same argument, without adding anything new about Ellah. Let events unfold and prove whether you are right or wrong. |

In the next 5 to 10 years, new names will be on the list. Is there possibility of having this same names come up again, very unlikely, except presco and okomu will get to 15k price.. like they say: The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour.. what are some of the potential names you think can make it to this in the next 5 to 10 years. Cetris paribus. emmanuelewumi: |

I rememeber back in the days, just early after University. Nvdia was a stand out in gaming graphic card. If we buy a desktop system that had intel graphic card we will change it to nvdia for better performance. When i look back after seeing nvdia with their 5 trillion dollar value today i just shake my head.. Then i wasnt heavy on stocks after the 2008 beating. If not such were pointers for future performance of a company. The signs will always be there for a company with potential, just that the Thomas in us will always prop up. Because nothing is absolute and there are no guarantees in life. |

I doubt it. Making gaming chips had nothing to do with AI. It just so happened that the chips did parallel processing inna way that was beneficial to AI and not word processing for instance. We would buy Nvidia laptop to game, but they were also closely being marked by AMD Radeon abi Vision or something (though I think the AMD used to get too hot. Until recently, even the stock was almost depressed. Stockhunter: |

Stop disgracing yourself in public na. You may be a stubborn he-goat but you can read numbers. Common sense and implied valuation vs Presco show that Ellah is clearly overpaying for the ARPN plantation -- with no synergies to make up for the upfront overpayment. By contrast, Presco probably does have the scale and market position to create value from the asset even if acquired at a premium. We go see how de tin goes. ositadima1: |

You reminded me of my campaign on Nairaland in 2023/24 when I brought the gospel of the Magnificent 7 stocks (check my past topics). Today, the Magnificent 7 stocks—of which NVIDIA is a leader—have delivered inflation-beating returns of three digits on my invested capital. This was not luck, but trust in compounding, discipline, patience, and time. Stockhunter: |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 5:32pm On Dec 14, 2025 |
HesInMe:Once you start with insults, you signal that you lack the numbers to let the data speak for itself. The only relevant question is whether the discounted future cash flows of ARPN exceed the acquisition price at Ellah’s cost of capital. Without numbers, claims of “overpayment” are nothing more than baseless opinions. You implicitly admitted with presco that price alone does not determine value; execution and capital structure do. The same standard must therefore be applied to Ellah. Until then, this debate is not about valuation, it is about emotional bias. |

nosa2:We are not that close. We still get close to 40% gap and likely 50% as our population goes higheri n 5 yrs Unless the government go begin allow importation back into the country .A liter still goes for #2k and above. Even at #1500 for a litter the guys will still be making good money from my research. The kill for these oil guys is the industrial need for palm oil in nigeria. It will definitely continue to increase if the manufacturer ingredients and production part of the economy continue to expand |
