Remaining 130 Abducted Niger Pupils Released by Fidwon(op): 8:05pm On Dec 21, 2025
All the schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri community, Niger State, have now been released, following the freedom of the final group of 130 victims, bringing the total number of rescued pupils to 230.

Officials of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) confirmed the development to newsmen on Sunday.

The successful release brings an end to days of anxiety and uncertainty for families of the victims and marks a significant breakthrough for security agencies involved in the rescue operation.

The pupils were abducted after gunmen attacked the boarding school, an incident that sparked nationwide outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of educational institutions across the country.

Authorities said the release of all the victims was achieved through sustained security pressure and coordinated efforts by relevant agencies. They did not, however, disclose details of the operation.

The incident has intensified calls from stakeholders for enhanced protection of schools and more decisive action to prevent a recurrence of such attacks, as concerns over insecurity continue to dominate public discourse in Nigeria.

Sincerely speaking....I am sure 80% of genuine parents won't recover fully despite the return of these children.... It's not easy. I pray God will help them all

My prayer has been answered or at least they are out. I prayed a short prayer for those children that God will help them gain freedom before Christmas. I really hope they are free now. smiley smiley

I dont know if those children were targeted by some powerful people and then released deliberately like a script to make it look like the govt is working. This theory was in my thinking.

Anyway happy for them.

Do those kids you see in that picture look like who went through any torture? Northern leaders know the game they have been playing since 2014.

Tinubu no be Jonathan. Rather than resort to self-pity and victimization cries about how people are trying to sabotage his government, he has once again proved why we remain his staunch and unalloyed supporters.

Hope they were not forced to read Quran, that what Muslims are known for. How were they able to feed over 130 kids for weeks? And no arrest was made!!! Nigeria is officially a terrorist state.

If you didn’t make this statement when the news of kidnap first broke, then you are just one big hypocrite, and you should quit the pretense – you’re not happy with their release

I am so happy for their release, it was one of my prayer point. I empathise with them because I see myself in them.

You must be a crook yourself to have that line of thought. Does it make sense for a government to bring ridicule to itself with the abduction of those kids, in the first place, “just to appear as working”?
There is more to lose than to gain in such conspiracy.
Only those in opposition stands to benefit from such incident and therefore should be the first suspect if you’re looking for a conspiracy, being objective and not just a hater
Re: Remaining 130 Abducted Niger Pupils Released by SeriouslySense(m): 11:33pm On Dec 21, 2025
Why not, i have to think like a crook or i will be deceived easily, or do you want to be deceived easily.

Hmm for example if I go to the market and I want to get a product at a reasonable prize, do I go to the sellers and praise them for every price they tell me. Because I should thank the sellers for bringing the products and selling it at their own prize, so I become a toy for only their gain.

You are correct, I wonder though how many percent of the parents that would have ended up in depresion if none of the children were recovered.

We thank God that the story of the children did not end like that of the chibok girls. The story was quite disturbing. I am happy with the quick intervention of the federal government.

The government even used their own share of the money they cashed out to buy brand new bus to convey the pupils.

But I thought the total number of abducted pupils and staff was 320.
