The major reason i don't touch any stocks he is associated with. He will succeed to hype the stock and suddenly he will exit the stock and the stock will trend downward immediately.
It's worked for him.

I don't know what he says in his "Making it Big" book o.

But what I know is that he sold forte oil at an excessive premium, plugged part of the proceeds to GEREGU, then pumped GEREGU from less than #200 to over #1100, and Forbes re included him in their billionaires list, not minding that his GEREGU assets were at inflated price.

Tony will probably be watching transcorp again.

Cos Otedola needs an avenue for this his new N1.1 trn loot.

Abi, since the counterbalancing force has now been withdrawn, gravity has to take its course.

And it's unidirectional.

why exit Geregu now? huh

FG has set up a bond to repay Gas and power legacy debts.
Probably much likely this 2026..
Well, they are the cow boys of this investing game. Who I be? grin

He has already made his money and the asset is overpriced.
How he gets people to buy his overpriced assets at inflated price remains a mystery.

You make it sound like it would be a substantial stake.

I'd say less than 5% if it exists.

That 5% sef would have added another $1bn to his net worth if he had it.

Alhaji raised via cement's dividends to DIL and AFREXIM BANK mostly.

But of course you might know something else I don't.

True.
But to reduce dilution effect when listed on NGX, he needs to acquire more.

He will be competing with institutional investors.
Guy man probably no wan carry last grin

that guy man must have good PR analysts and hype men marketing business grin
Probably even used the bond issuance as a justification for the new buyers.
They probably have been convinced and guaranteed that they would be incuring just a slice of the companies debt.
FG takes care of the rest.

So the premium valuation becomes justified for the buyers.

I doubt whether Alhaji owns up to 70% of DR. There are committee of friends investors. FO's interest is reportedly ca. 5%

It is probably already priced in. Remember that he bought Firstholdco recently at around N31. He might fund the remaining capitalization requirements of the bank though.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 6:58pm On Dec 29, 2025
FBNHCO is different from Geregu though. The former is in a strongly regulated sector that contains many competing pears. For example, you can't pump FBNHCO to N200 while GTCO is below N100.
