UNIBENDON:
For the the past 5 years, the annual growth in EPS is more than 75 percent.
Meaning that the current EPS is 75% higher than what it was 5 years ago.

That will give a compounded annualized earning growth rate of less than 12%

Well I assume he meant 75% annual growth on average. Is this really true?

It will take just 2 years for ACCESSCORP to earn its current stock price.

ACCESSCORP is greatly undervalued and the market at the moment is irrational towards it.

Meet the new owners of Geregu.

Hopefully Otedola should be able to give new jobs at First Bank to the directors that resigned with him

Dividend yield is just over 3%
Bonus is dilutive.

Some are reacting with that perspective.

We still dey plead for God's divine intervention, make CBN tender justice with mercy.

* The NDIC action here is suspicious and a pointer to some inside politics....
* Why is NDIC so eager to pay investors off?
* Why the immediate action? ...because we all know when it comes to making payments, these guys can lag and frustrate investors....
Why the haste from NDIC.
** What was CBN looking at since they'd been on suspension for quite some years?
** Who was approving their financials for release to the public thru NGX?

** Anyhow comment is not allowed pls....
In fact, hold your negative comment if you have one. 🙄

All I know is #100 is possible in FBNH in 2026.It does not matter what other bank share price are right now.If transcorp hotel can do #170 by toni.Even kpakus that is suppose to be minus 20kobo is at #13.
And you feel a business with over 100yr existence cannot be pumped to just #100 naira. If not bad management over yrs do FBNH have any reason not to be in 4 digits price as great grand father in banking industry
Let us see their next dividend in 2026, that will say alot about their future

If you consider factors like inflation, TVM, exchange rate, valuation metrics, etc. from 2023 to date, you would realize that some assets are not sufficiently repriced, apart from fundamentals

The former CEO of Geregu, Akin Akinfemiwa has been the clearing house for Fbnh decisions for some time. It will likely continue that way.

How much was the SP of the banks before Tinubu devaluation and inflation happened. The real inflation on the street and not the yeye ones by government. The banks have not repriced nothing yet even based on thr EPS.The banks PE are ridiculous low

Make I plug shamelessly small.......

Based on today's closing price

Zenith bank
forward PE 2.53
Expected Return on Equity 21.53%
Q3 Net profit margin 22.65%

Eco-bank Transnational
Forward PE 1.59
Expected Return on Equity : 25.82%
Q3 Net profit margin: 19.86

Now I dare anyone to find a listed company outside the banking sector that has similar profit margins and return on equity that is trading at similar earnings multiples.

Banking sector is grossly under priced relative to the market.

I have asked questions from other investors as to why they think this is the case and I am yet to hear any valid reason.

So yes, a repricing is necessary. Either the general market falls or the banking sector rises. The status quo makes no sense.

P.S I have one more investment to make in the banking sector in the first half of January but aside from that I am invested in the two stocks mentioned and as such you can look at it as me trying to sell my market.

For a better perspective, you need to look at history of Nigeria banks p.e and some other ratios.
This is not the first time that banks earning multiples would be very low.
The big question is, will it continue to be low or something is about to change?

As per banks being relatively underpriced, I think it is partly because most investors are still wary that the performance and returns of the banks can be easily affected or influenced (negatively) by CBN policies and regulations which make them ''relatively riskier'' compared to other less regulated sectors. A good example is how the CBN/FG unilaterally took 70% of forex gain of banks in FY2023.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/12/cbn-projects-4-49-economic-growth-51bn-external-reserves-for-2026/

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has projected a stronger macroeconomic outlook for the country in 2026, forecasting a 4.49 per cent growth in Gross Domestic Product, GDP, a moderation in inflation to about 12.4 per cent, and a rise in external reserves to $51.04 billion,

You heard what was said about “Leverage”.

One thing i can never do is borrow. Whenever the discussion comes up and people ask me - i tell them the dumbest thing - “God told me never to borrow”. They likely laugh but it is true? Yes. cheesy

Apart from this, with borrowing I feel I am negating rule 1 - always live below your means.

Better to also give a discount of 30% to 50% to the earnings of the banks.
