After a week of decline from 12 - 17 December, reserves are back on the upward trajectory, just now $19m off the previous high. NGN also back below 1450. I called sub 1400 for year end. That didn't happen. But we're not too far off either. CBN is projecting $51bn for reserves next year. |

Abeg, I’d like to understand thisbprivate placement of a thing. Why give it away at 80? Why is not not a public offer or something? Did someone approach them and indicate interest first? [ quote author=TerraCota post=137961987] https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Listings-site/corporate-disclosure-site/Documents/GTCO_Announcement_of_Private_Placement_.pdf It is on NGX ......[/quote] |

pluto09:Depositors I meant. Lol. Meanwhile , I was just so much concerned about those involved and affected... Not that I'd expected anything positive from these cabals except miracles in this situation. For me, the money collected by Mr. Market from me must be returned by same Mr. Market because I know how to make money and make my money back..... Just pissed off by the level of the regulators injustice and insensitivity to common man.....same common people you claimed you're protecting their interests. |

deathwing:N10 billion is chicken change to GTB. Insiders want to increase their holdings and they don't want to buy on the floor, probably because it will affect the stock price. The private placement of a thing is to get over 120 million units at a cheap price |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 10:47pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
This probably means you would have been paying over 1200 without Alhaji. That's if the absence of Alhaji's impact doesn't even push dollar over 2k, you would have been paying over 1500 per litre. Same diesel that sold for 1700 in Lagos last year now sells for around 950. The issue of the south south and south east being with higher living cost is its stand alone matter. I noticed it too when I served in Bayelsa in the early 2010s. |

TerraCota:Letter is dated 30th and offer is closing 31st. Seems they already have a buyer waiting. It doesn't seem right. It's basically selling to a preferred buyer at below market price. Seems wrong |

deathwing:very soon na to avoid all this bank shares. They keep doing fraudulent things. Why is the PP at a discount but if it is RI it will come at premium |

nosa2:It is absolutely wrong. Let the person buy at market price of the floor if 10 billion is small money. That means they are discounting it for an insider. Why should it be so.Is it not on the floor otedola has been buying FBNH |

awesomeJ:.It is u that keep using price in a state or region to make it look like it is what that is happening in the nation called nigeria. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 11:11pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:First of fall, the region or state is in Nigeria. Secondly, you can do constant region comparisons you'd still get the same results. If there was no Dangote Refinery, importers would simply be retailing PMS at around 70 cents per litre and then those of you farther from Lagos would simply pay a 5-20% markup on that same reference price. The fact that you currently pay a higher price than is obtainable in Lagos doesn't disprove/invalidate Alhaji's impact. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 11:13pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
awesomeJ:That means he sold at serious discount. It means what he is chasing is so near and he needs the cash on ground .He equally does not want to pay 30% cgt on the money next yr..lol |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 11:16pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:Yes. 30% CGT and the fact that the asset is already significantly priced above fair value would be reasonable motivations. He still made about 5x of his investment in naira terms. I think 5.7x precisely. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by deathwing(m): 11:19pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
This sounds crazy. Why would they not want to affect the stock price? Is that not the point of having the stock market. So those people are already more than 12% up. SMH. emmanuelewumi: |

awesomeJ:I am not disputing alhaji great impact. He is the only good thing that has happened to this country in a long time.I only called it out to show that this stations are still reaping us off.As I know alhaji said he is doing direct supply to them at free or reduced cost based on his own trucks |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 11:26pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:Yes. Last I heard was that a device that would prevent drivers from discharging part of the fuel while in transit. (Like theyl drivers would often help themselves to 1 or 2 kegs from what they're transporting) . Alhaji said they were waiting for those devices to arrive before they could roll out more trucks. But a larger issue is the fact that you had to order 500,000 litres minimum. That's 12 trucks, about N350m. Not every fuel retailer has the liquidity for such volume. I think he tried reducing it to 250k litres. Still much! I believe it will take off much more significantly if he just simply does 45,000 Cos most stations outside Lagos probably take up to 1 week to sell out 1 truck, it's not realistic and financially feasible that they'd order 6 trucks at a go. |

Streetinvestor2:I'm sure there is more to the deal than we are seeing right now. After all not all major shareholders would benefit from the discount and they will raise questions. Make shareholders wait for conference calls to get more clarity |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 12:05am On Dec 31, 2025 |
nosa2:from the NGX notice. It seems they've already gotten the approval of shareholders as at May 2024. Therefore, this current ₦10bn capital raise is included in the $750million capital raise approved by shareholders as at May 2024. Method: RI, PO, PP, etc The Board has just been executing this $750m raise in tranches. 1st and 2nd tranche was securing GTBank's capital raise from the same $750m lump sum using combination of methods. Also, methods and Equivalent currencies can also be used to raise the total $750m approved capital. In this latest tranche 3 raise, it's Private placement and Naira respectively. The ₦10bn raise is capital requirement for financial holding companies(FHCO). in this case GTCO. It doesn't seem like a new proposed offer from no where.

It stinks, but shareholders approved private placement as one vehicle for capital raise. Maybe we need more shareholder activism in the NGX. Streetinvestor2: |

GTB only needed to reduce the proposed final dividend for 2025 by about 28k and they will get the N10 billion. No wonder auditors, CBN insiders and NDIC no too dey buy most of the banking stocks. Just surprised that GTB is now joining others in their funny games. Upon the big profits declared by the banks in Nigeria and supposed cheap valuation, non of them beat currency devaluation or inflation and delivered 1600% in the last 20 years at a compounded annualized return of 15% |

HesInMe:Nigerian shareholders don't read before voting at AGM. One day they will vote that insiders should take over the company, because we don't read the small print. Does that mean they have not been able to raise all they needed to raise? Why can't they retain N10 billion from the final dividend for the years or why can't they pay a huge dividend and advise interested and qualified shareholders to use it to buy the Private Placement at eg minimum purchase of 50,000 units? Why can't they allow the Private Placement to run for 2 weeks and above? What is bad is bad |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 5:25am On Dec 31, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:GTB is not doing anything wrong in my own opinion. They wanted to beat the December 31 deadline for adequate capitalization as prompted by cbn guidelines. The easiest and the fastest way to get that done is through PP, the same thing access bank did |
