Imagine I bought 1m shares with N50m in 2026 at N50 per share , and made N200m in profits in 2026 when the price is N250 per share, but only withdraw N50m (enough to cover all my personal and family expenses) I will pay tax on the entire N50m (based on your interpretation)

Now i reinvest the remaining N150m at N250 per share in 2026

By 2027 when I sell that N150m after 12 months must have elapsed if I sell at N300
Will you calculate my profit on the N150m using N50 as base cost or N250??

So that we'll know how to plan our withdrawals.

2 years after subsidy removal there has been no single impact on the life of an average Nigerian, apart from the endless borrowing & looting. Now they have come up with income tax because election is around the corner, they need more money for rigging & someone is talking about misinformation & ignorance. If we had accountable leaders, people will gladly pay 30% on income tax, but knowing fully well these monies will end up in the pocket of our politicians & their children makes it a very hard thing to do.
