emmanuelewumi:Hello sir, Why does this company - Chellarams - stock appreciate so much? I checked what it does, and it looked very basic. Shey it is a fast volume-moving stock (enough buyers and sellers)? |

pluto09:swear that government officials will not continue stealing taxpayers money. My main issue is the corruption and impunity from those in high places. We are operating an Italian mafioso kind of system. There is no problem with revenue generation, our main problem is leakages. |

emmanuelewumi:Why is your AI beefing stock traders again o 😁😁😁😁 We that trading is the only way we know to make money nko? What should we do? I'm looking for a new house in Alimosho. So far the places I've seen range from 2.5m to 4.7m, while I'm still contemplating, the last 4 trading sessions, I've made net gains of N2m. despite 2 of those 4 sessions being half sessions. You think, someone like me cares about the next rubbish your AI hallucinates?? 😁😁 |

Nwanne, Namaster, Biko, analyze this other scenario for me abeg. I want to be sure, I have plans in plans regardless of what interpretation prevails: Imagine I bought 1m shares with N50m in 2026 at N50 per share , and made N200m in profits in 2026 when the price is N250 per share, but only withdraw N50m (enough to cover all my personal and family expenses) I will pay tax on the entire N50m (based on your interpretation) Now i reinvest the remaining N150m at N250 per share in 2026 By 2027 when I sell that N150m after 12 months must have elapsed if I sell at N300 Will you calculate my profit on the N150m using N50 as base cost or N250?? |

@streetinvestor2 Obi for president, Atiku for Vice, that would have made 2027 plausible, but will he(Atiku) agree Counting the FCT as a state, they both won 24 compared to Tinubu's 13. |

Bizibi:Don't mind him 2 years after subsidy removal there has been no single impact on the life of an average Nigerian, apart from the endless borrowing & looting. Now they have come up with income tax because election is around the corner, they need more money for rigging & someone is talking about misinformation & ignorance. If we had accountable leaders, people will gladly pay 30% on income tax, but knowing fully well these monies will end up in the pocket of our politicians & their children makes it a very hard thing to do. |

https://punchng.com/no-automatic-bank-deductions-under-new-tax-laws-oyedele/ Oyedele dismissed claims that the government would monitor or debit individual bank accounts, stressing that taxpayers would only be required to declare their income at the end of the tax year. “People think that the government will debit their bank accounts from next year, and how they even came up with that, I have no idea. Nobody will debit your account for any amount you transfer. Whether it’s a billion or one thousand naira, at the end of the year, you tell the government yourself,” he said. |

Jayce242:the leakages in the system is too much. From those in Villa to nass to MDA to states to local government..... federal level have its leakages, state level is the worst. REVENUE GENERATION IS NOT NIGERIA'S PROBLEM. |

Bizibi:The entire system is corrupt! From top to bottom When a container has too many leakages, it can never retain water. The issue has never been about revenue generation but corruption. Where is Abacha loot that was returned to this nation? Nothing is ever accounted for. Once they see Nigerians start coping with this income tax, they are coming up with another one, it's barely 2 years subsidy was removed, highest is 2027. |

emmanuelewumi:I checked this Senator's Wikipedia page. It's not written anywhere that he has ever been a business person. And his educational background is UNIMPRESSIVE. He seems like a career-politician. Putting the asset in his kid's names is CLEARLY to create a moat in the event of a corruption case. This is why prosecution for corruption should be BIBLICAL—the entire family should be punished up to the FOURTH generation. |

You should take Wikipedia with a pinch of salt. Sen. Yari is an accomplished businessman even before he ventured into politics. I, however, cannot say much about his wealth... Namaster: |

awesomeJ:If you invest #50M and made #200M, the sales proceeds would be #250M. If you reinvest the rest (#200M, not #150) and withdraw just #50M. The calculation would be like this: #250M proceeds = #50M cost + #200M gain That's 20% cost + 80% gain. Your #50M withdrawal would be treated same way #50M = 20% cost (#10M) + 80% Gain (#40M) Your tax liability would be on #40M. For the second part, obviously the base is not going to be #50 but the #250 you actually paid for them. EVERYBODY agrees on that. Also, get yourself a Tax Accountant and BOMBARD him with as much scenario as your heart desires. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:51pm On Dec 31, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:No nah. I only say things I mean. It's just a simple maths I saw. If Atiku could possibly agree to vice Obi, then he would win the north for him. Such a development would rekindle the obedient movement so strongly, even Tinubu might become scared. But if it's reversed (Obi runs as vice) then it'll just be like 2019 imo I believe you heard the news that they're now both in ADC. Obi left LP today. I'm not one to play unnecessary games. Nothing like wanting to hear your mouth. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:55pm On Dec 31, 2025 |
Namaster:So in effect I have a plan on hand if your interpretation is what they go with. Why do you think I need a tax accountant? How am I sure he understands numbers like me? Why waste money. I had a plan based on my previous interpretation, now that you presented another possible interpretation, I also have a plan to simply delay to another year and get a higher base cost. Now it seems you're also agreeing with @mallamOmonile's position about recognizing the principal and profit components of every withdrawal. You initially thought everything would be treated as profit. You see our debates today have been helpful to everyone ![]() |

The only thing thr is space it for some time for next stock investment as new reset.@osita once collaborate this position. I no send anyone opinion on the stupid tax law.I have my faith it won't go beyond 2027 for them to get out. I don even warn one bank person as he called to talk about TIN number. Is thr luck they now say they are using NiN.They won't see my shishi. If you be big customer to me you pay for your goods to my supplier account directly. It is legal in business transactions You go wait for turn over explanation tiya no evidence |

@awesomeJ Namaster @mallamOmonile1 @Pluto9 and all. Una Weldone for the eve Gbas- gbos on tax. It was quite insightful *Withdrawn proceed is always a percentage of cost/gain just like share sale. It's only rational for taxable gains to take that into consideration.. #Noted Even though we still await the tax law adjustments next yr (in 3hrs ). |

@Namaster @mallamOmonile1, anyone please. I know you've over cracked your brain this evening on this tax scenarios enough for headache esp Namaster. Just a direct question please: Since CGT applies to physical properties as well. if someone sells a property and invests proceeds in NGx, will it be taxed? Isn't it more like asset reinvestment? |
