I am yet to be paid my sukuk bond coupon which is due 29th of December. I wouldn't know if it's DMO or Stanbic IBTC holding my money. This is the first time I am not paid on the 29th. |

Agbalowomeri:Which only exists in your mind. What does it matter what you love? Does it affect my earnings in anyway? Between your 80k ASI call in November and now, I've made 100 times the national minimum wage using a tiny portfolio. You're there in fear and lack of sophistication settling for 2% in fixed deposit. Who's losing from you being always wrong? Just you and anyone who takes your calls seriously. |

faoogoke:The same here .I am surprised as it was not on holiday. I use gtbank . That is not good signal from government security. This government is not telling us the truth about the economic affairs of this country .3 working days lapses. Is that what foreign investors are seeing too.I hope it is not so |

Streetinvestor2:Gain that I enjoy spending. Gains that I'm able to help frienyand family with. People like Agba who have very limited knowledge of the market are waiting for when I will say I make losses. I can only make daily losses, which are normal and rare. When you pan out to weekly and longer time frames, I'll always be green. So he will basically wait in vain forever for something that has a smaller chance than the sun exploding this century. When Bob Marley didn't want to wait in vain for that lady's love, at least that was a wait that had a potential upside for him (the girl might come around to love him) In Agba's case, it's a wait that has zero upside for him, even if some other trader lose money, I wonder what he would gain from it other than I told you so. You will now commit emotions for decades and even deprive yourself of gains cos you hope 180k doesn't happen for instance, all that just to say "we tell am" Na wah!Agba will wait till 2097 hoping to one day say "I told you so, by 2097, I might decide to stop playing the market. I wonder why people think the fact that they can't do something (like consistently make profits), no one else can. Isn't that the real arrogance? |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 9:37pm On Jan 01 |
Agbalowomeri:It's not quarrel na, why do you see it as such. I'm just saying you need to understand that you're the only one losing out due to your fears, some of us are rather enjoying our optimism in the market. Since you're contented with your fixed deposit, stay there and do not perceive those of us succeeding as arrogant. After all we're at different stages in life and investment journey, you wouldn't expect our strategies to align. Just respect everyone's choices and refrain from unnecessary labels like "arrogant" |

MeezPat:Isn't it normal for Rent to be late in Nigeria? Abi no be Rent sukuk dey pay? The average Nigerian tenant pays rent late, so sukuk is probably just emulating the habit too. 😁😁😁 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 9:46pm On Jan 01 |
awesomeJ:Jesus wept. Is that what you have turned my investment in government security to be.Deris God oh.In other words thr is equally room to default since it is now rent |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 9:53pm On Jan 01 |
Streetinvestor2:Na joke o. Naira defaults by FGN is not possible 😁. Worst case is they would pay the naira, but it might not be worth much. I wonder how people who bought Zimbabwean bonds survived. You put your 10m life savings in the bonds, by the time they paid you, it was no longer enough to buy a loaf of bread. I think that's the only kind of risk, default really isn't a risk. I wonder why they still term the instruments risk-free when there exists a real risk of significant loss of value. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NSEstudent: 11:08pm On Jan 01 |
faoogoke:For some years now, I have not been paid my coupon on the exact due dates for any of my FGN Savings Bonds. They eventually pay any day they like. I have stopped expecting them on the due dates. For context, this only happened on weekends or public holidays for all the times I have been buying government bonds. Initially, they were giving excuses, but these days no one cares to explain anything. They just pay any time they want. Too much anyhowness. No transparency, no regard for the investors, nothing nothing. Just vibes. |

NSEstudent:You sure this government never loot everything finish so they have to delay before they now pay. With this government anything is possible |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NSEstudent: 12:18am On Jan 02 |
Streetinvestor2:Anything is possible but not defaulting on local currency bonds. What I suspect is systemic lack of integrity on the part of the regime - from the DMO to whoever is regulating them, all the way to the government itself. And it's unfortunate. |
