Any other income you make personally and the CGT are still under the jurisdictions of your state government.
Nothing much new with the new act except it makes evasion more difficult.
It is just a matter of time.
Which ''matter of time''? grin grin
I say I am not filing anything! I will not pay 25% of my gains to the govt., state or federal.
The foreign individuals or international investors that make profit and exit the market with their gains, where would they file their returns?
If push comes to shove, I would change my residential address to somewhere in Benin Republic

For those of us who use leverage, provisions must have been made for the loans and interest payments before arriving at a profit

I will never pay as long as it is not withdrawn from source. It is on record we don't pay tax in the North unless na u wan go do something and it requires tax clearance certificate. The north does not pay shishi. Na only local government money we dey pay.The tax guys they even fear to go many places. The north says they are not paying. All those government loans they gave under different schemes. How many was government able to collect back.Even traditional leaders told his subjects not to pay back all those poverty alleviation loans.Na for una lagos una go pay as u have been paying
Besed that 2027 is no longer far for us to kick them out

As in... Onome is one of the solid guys that covers NGX space FOR FREE. Why someone will try to disparage his hard work is more than distasteful.

And to Onome, some of us value and respect your contribution to the growth of the NGX. I have been a fan since your days at Nairametrics and your time on Smooth FM's business morning with Rotus. Keep up the good work!

The HNI (high net worth individuals) know themselves, so the govt should go face them. Dangote, Otedola, Abdul Samad, Adenuga, Elumelu etc.
If only the ''tax man'' was there to help me in 2008-2010 when my investments turned into huge debts because of market crash after margin and other loans that I invested. They cannot reap where they did not so.

Stockpromoter:
📊 DAILY MARKET COMMENTARY – ROYALEX
📅 Monday, 5 January 2026

Royalex closed the last trading session on Friday at ₦1.87, slightly higher than Thursday’s ₦1.86 close, with a total traded volume of 2.101 million units. The modest price uptick alongside steady volume reflects continued market participation and sustained interest around current levels.

From a short-term perspective, price action remains stable above the recent ₦1.85 area, suggesting that sellers are not exerting strong pressure at this zone. While volume was lower compared to earlier sessions in the week, it still indicates ongoing engagement rather than exhaustion.

Key Levels to Watch:
Support: ₦1.85 – ₦1.86
Resistance: ₦1.95 – ₦2.00

A decisive move above the immediate resistance band would require improved volume, while holding above support keeps the structure constructive as the new week begins.

⚠️ Market commentary only. Not investment advice.

ROYALEX – Midday Update
By Stockpromoter (Loco)
Royal Exchange Assurance Plc traded 1.313m shares so far. Best bid ₦1.90, best offer ₦1.92, with a strong bid depth of 7.38m shares.
Heavy bids show solid demand and accumulation, while the tight spread suggests balance. ₦1.90 looks well supported; a volume push could see a test of ₦1.92+.

Whatever good happens to the ''Lake'', would also happen to the ''River'' and the ''Ocean''.
It is matter of time.

Only if you did not reinvest the said revenue in another stock.

They need to also provide clarity of filing process....
