Well, that cannot be discounted for some small brokers--bigger ones may be exceptions. However, I agree that the issue may indeed not be unrelated to bandwidth NGX IT assets issues. awesomeJ: |

Bigdeal01:It depends on your investment objectives. It depends of you a trader or an investor. It also depends on the type of investor you are either an income investor, value investor, growth investor or quality. Investment is a marathon and not a sprint. So when investing you use fundamental analysis and also consider the ability of the business to always deliver. It is not during a bull market that we know who is right, |

Stockhunter:My source is Taiwo Oyedele via an interview on Channels or so. That stamp duty thing probably concerns me more than you o. I should have saved about N40k month to date, but it seems they haven't implemented it. I called my brokers about it last year, they said they would look into it. But NGX people are lax these days so maybe that's why the implementation is slow. I deposited 500k to Morgan yesterday, they still removed N50 stamp duty even though they no longer should. Let's just hope Taiwo was speaking the truth, (although I asked Ai and it corroborated). Then it'll only be for us to wait for brokers to push an update that eliminates it. |

SonofElElyonRet:It is written: the ''dead'' shall rise with Christ when the trumpet sounds and He reappears in glory (second coming). But some people would still be skeptical and not believe, even though our ''prophet'' has been saying it loud from the mountain top that the ocean contains abundant oil. (Ocean and Oil) ![]() |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 5:31pm On Jan 06 |
awesomeJ:Taiwo is still insisting on using the tax law he forged and not the one approved by the legislation. So he no get anyone time now for implementation. He is making it look like gazetting is what determines the law of the land and not the legislators |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 5:48pm On Jan 06 |
Stockhunter:Any govt that collects tax on movement of peoples' capital (fund transfers) is only stealing from them. Capital is neither profit nor gain for the govt to collect taxes on. I blame our clueless CSOs, the academia, legislators etc. who allowed this fraud to happen |

THE MOMENTUM SLOWED DOWN TODAY!!! WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? The market holding or not will depend on the fundamentals of most stocks in the market. And for one of the major drivers of this bullish trend, I don't think they doubt the fundamentals of this market to deliver!!! This major supporter of this bullish trend is not even concern about Tax or no tax and if they are concerned about the tax and decide to move, that tax will be amended. But for now we should just watch the market will do!!!
