This almost drives me crazy once in a while ![]() Sometimes I just wonder where my primary school mates are now especially since we left primary school I was not opportune to meet any of them. I left primary school in 2009. Excellent nursery and primary school, oworoshoki, Lagos. Immediately after my primary school, I left Lagos state to a boarding school in my own state in the north. When I returned during some of the holidays, my family had already relocated to another state from Lagos thereby cutting off any chances of meeting any of my old friends. Ever since then I've found it hard to locate any of those guys. Even now I keep forgetting some of their names. I was their class captain then and headboy so I had deep attachments with many of them and teachers. Sometimes I wonder about them especially the ones I remember. Especially my best friend then, Patrick. I have combed Facebook for him but no traces of him at all. I found some on Facebook mostly with dormant accounts and just one or two who are active. The rest, it's as though they never existed ![]() Sometimes I worry. Sometimes I wonder. But I truly miss them all. A lot. I've thought about going back to Lagos to visit the school but I'm still schooling and also do not have the financial strength yet. I recently saw the primary school have a Facebook page now and I'm following them. So to you, do you miss your primary school friends? |

You left primary school in 2009 😂🤣🤣🤣 I know few who are no longer in Nigeria. Met one at the court some years ago, he had issues with the law. I know about 3 who are dead. Just live your life and be happy. |

Jesterinjay:True. The one girl I spoke with said she doesn't remember me again. But still knows my younger sister. The one other girl remembered me but was saying she's having a hard time remembering my face. The only guy that I have been able to track and spoke with was acting kinda nonchalant. He was my biggest competition in class then but I don't think life has favored him that much. Not like I myself I'm there yet or anything. But he was kinda reluctant to chat with. Will still reach out to him again tho. Saw one just now and he's doing content creation now. Recently began with about 10+ followers now while still doing 9-5 jobs (don't know the work tho) I'll try to reach out to him, hopefully he responds to my message. The others especially my best friend are getting hard to find. Hopefully I ping of these ones to reach more of them. |

On Facebook, they kept adding me to our school groups created especially for the year we graduated. I was on my own one night when I received an unsolicited WhatsApp group invite. They are all one call away. The ones who traveled out feel too big for our group. They left it after a few weeks. Na them know. Nigerians act brand new once they japa. |

No because I assume they are either dead, in prison or being a wagie just like everyone else. The few who escaped that fate are probably stuck in a loop of entrepreneurial failures posting linkedIn platitudes about hustle culture. |

I'm wondering too much about myself... To be worried about my primary school buddies. I've seen one or two one FB. But they seem to be doing the same thing I'm doing - wondering too much about myself and minding my business. The most important thing is everyone doing okay in their wandering sojourns in life wherever they are! |

My secondary and high school do have a closely knitted alumni that covers both home base and diaspora, arranged into geographical chapters. The General WhatsApp forums are active with discourse across différent topics, politics in particular.. Personally I have received immense support during times of hardship thanks to closer friendships built from these forums.. Some of my primary school classmates went on to become my secondary school classmates, at such we do interact on the forums. The majority though cant be traced. Mind you I left primary school 35 years ago. I have a good memory and can remember most of my primary school mates by name and face. I was exceptionally intelligent and stubborn so most can remember me too.. I tried searching some on Facebook years back and was intrigued by my find. Some of those I would have love to connect, couldn't be found on the good old facebook. I would truly love to locate Lobe Florence, Egbe Albert, Clementine, Ndenecho Patrick . Good old days in Cameroon. How time flies!! |

I don't really care, in fact, I'd bump into some of them whenever I go home. They'd usually be the first ones to recognise me. |
