I have some fund available to me on short term basis. My investment goal is dividend and capital preservation. Just wondering if buying Access Bank at the current price is a good idea. Any advice from this forum will be highly appreciated.
Access Bank is good bank and you will never regret buying it.

Never you listen to those investors in royalex,Ellah lekuleku,and those mush room companies. cool

Just in case Ellah didn't raise the whole N235b at PO, I'm sure Chuka would've embarked on an aggressive private placement/loan sourcing exercise, immediately the signs of under-subscription were evident, to make up the shortfall. Hewitt Benson has everything under control.. e lo fokan bale. That acquisition is a done deal. Expect price rally for Ellah when the successful acquisition is announced.. projecting a price stabilisation at N25 / N30

As the year slowly wind down and the newly enforced Tax policy takes effect in January.

I felt the need to do a video explaining 6 types of narration to use when intending to send money or someone intending to send you money or even moving money around into different accounts for investment.

These narrations/remarks are necessary so when you get caught up in Tax issues, upon which your bank account gets audited by the Tax officials, you won't get over taxed due to the fact that your past transactions were labeled.

Don't forget to subscribe after watching the video.

Take your profits off the table. If you bought P number of shares at N69.00 , and tomorrow’s price is 171.05 + y, you will need to sell off
P x {(171.05 +y)-69} / (171.05 +y) number of units and bank . Let the rest run and keep banking as you go along. The 2025 Q4 results will determine next line of action beyond that.

The formula above says, multiple your units (P) by the price tomorrow at point of sell ( ie 171.05 +y) after you minus the price you bought it ( ie 69) from the tomorrow price …the answer is in Naira. Divide that number by tomorrow’s price at point of sell and it will give you the number of your units you need to sell off to bank your profits. Let the rest run.

This number is an approximation as it accommodates charges.
This is a helpful formula. Please what does the '+y' stand for?

I've been hearing a lot of words since I recently started following this thread. If anyone can help with their meanings.

Monkey hunters
Profit takers
Bearish market
Bullish
JIJO
1. If you have really been following, you must have read the story of the man who went to a village and declared he's buying off all their monkeys, thereby making monkey a hot commodity, albeit momentarily. You should use the words I have already written to search for the full story.

In a nutshell, monkey hunters are those who promote stocks they already bought to create demand for it and then pull out at profit, leaving adherents stranded.

2. Profit takers are literally PROFIT TAKERS. In most contexts here, they are those who bought a particular stock when it was cheaper than current price and are now selling to 'take' their profits. So when they are in good numbers, they can cause a stock to appear bearish whereas everything else points bullish about the stock.

3. Bearish market is a season or a period during which most stocks lose in price, causing the index to also lose points, in most cases.

4. Bullish is the opposite of bearish.

5. JIJO = jump in jump out. So if you are not sure of the direction of the market or you're not willing to make commitments like long termers, you can use a series of market strategies to discover entry and exit points and execute them. If you do this, you're a jigoist grin

Dunlop and Chams are not the same. You lose by the time your money is tied down for years. Which is a possibility. But if you don't mind, a miracle may happen and your patience gets rewarded

Apply it to Fortis Global (Stdinsure) right now. When a new core investor enters, you hammer.

Cool to Make it simpler:

No of units to sell = total shares x (buy price/current price)

The price of NCR at the market close on that day was 171.05. The factor y would be the price difference on the reference price of 171.05 which was the price it closed on the day he asked the question. (171.05 + y) wrt NCR is the new price.

To generalize, for other stocks, just replace this as SP= selling price on profits

Therefore

Number of units to sell to take off profits = Holding on the particular stock x (SP-CP)/SP
CP = Cost Price.

Below is an example to clarify further.

E.g
You bought 1mill units of a UBA at 30.00 and wish to take off profits at its a current price of say 45.00
Holding =1,000,000
CP=N30
SP=45
Gain =15

Number to sell to take off profits

=1,000,000 x 15/45
=15,000,000/45
=333,333 approximately

That’s you will need to sell off 333,333 from your 1 mill units and allow the rest to run for future gains.
Ignore the charges.

Please note, this is not the only method to take profits but it’s how I do it. In that way I don’t miss anything. Like, selling off completely to only regret a sudden future rally.

What is the job of your broker?

Ask your broker and they will buy it for you if you want.

Your broker should advise as to it's life condition and activity status.
But I assume that ftginsure (Stdinsure) is in glut at the car park, for now.
Nobody wants it, for now.

Yet I think it's neither delisted, nor suspended, nor traded, nor completely dead as a going concern.

Use Gamble funds. shocked

I have enough units to sink a ship, albeit in a trapped mode. But still ready to jump in for more at the slightest sign of revival.

If RMB is the underwriter, then RMB provides the guarantee of full subscription and must cover any unsubscribed portion of the offer. Underwritter simply means "guarantee" for such an arrangement.

You will see it on the floor to accumulate to your heart's content under N1.00 .

Hopefully they will come out waving some manageable Result(s) just to show that they're still a living entity, and thro that hopefully give the stock a little push.

Check the prospectus o. RMB are no fools. Most offers are "not underwritten at the request of the issuer." Ellah's own is just "not underwritten."
