Not a bad selection for a starter but not much profit to expect
Thank you Agba. Which stocks would you have advised me to buy.

The rule of thumb for a noob before trading is always consult the advice of your broker and your finance bros you know . Never trade on your conscience because it will trade badly .

You are right anyway. Entering other options at a good price has always been the challenge.

Agbalowomeri:
Is it a bargain at a PE of over 10? Compared to other available options?

Why is an Eps of N0.93 bad result considering the increase in OS?

The numbers are slight up. I mean profit after tax, income etc.

And sure they will pay dividend notwithstanding the result.
Not bad but poor (flat in short term)

Earnings and growth quality - Gross earnings came in at 87.4bn versus 87.8bn in 2024 showing flat top line growth.

The good thing is that they have great cash reserve at 79Billion which they can deploy on undervalued assets to give premium return in future. Cash reserve is raw fire power.

Current performance fully priced in at 12

They have always been good but stingy with dividends

Seems we've all slept on Custodian
I didn't believe they would maintain that growth

You gerrit.
And it's a function of their sector.

They have to reserve earnings and restrict cash heavily to guage against claims and other insurance eventualities.

They keep doing well and turning up Revenue but leave their collectables with clients. The clients too do the same to them...grin

I call them trade by Barter company..

Anyway, they can afford it with even lesser cash since they don't have much debt.

Na why their dividend no dey get face

As I update my spreadsheet it is becoming apparent that this market is not so cheap again. Outside banking and financial services this market is fairly priced at best.

Buy Access Bank or Zenith Bank, or better still keep your money in fixed deposit and wait for a pull back. Valuations are looking rich

If you have funds you are willing to keep away for five years and you are not under any pressure for dividend, buy Custodian and Transcorp after Q1

I am heavy on Nahco but i am beginning to have a second look at Sahco. They seem to have better growth prospects and fundamentals. My only challenge is that they have run ahead or at par with Nahco in terms of share price.

And to think that the MD spent over N3b in December to purchase about 87 million units of the company shares.

I expect the result of CWG to be celebrated here but see the kind way you praised them with bad mouth 😺 🤔
If someone should follow some of the comments here, such will end up missing positioning in good stocks 😊

Small time, we'll wonder how the companies with little or no revenues are doing well on the exchange compared to solid ones...

Meanwhile, CWG has performed excellently well, no wonder the share price keeps going up steadily.....

I'll wait for analysis of the analysts outside this forum... tongue

@ Currentprice, compliment Sir......
We needed the new fair price of this stock pls....thanks sir..🎉🙌

The bolded got me rolling on the floor. I can't agree less. Honestly this is not the best or right time to bring someone especially a close friend to the stock market. Prices have risen so high that any new entrant into any stock this period is likely to receive deep hair cuts. I too am having someone asking me for stock recommendations for him to buy next week Monday. He has opened an account with a broker and deposited N1.5m. I have told him to just let the money to be sleeping there rather than use it for experiment on any stock as of now.
A good one Sir 😊
Happy New Year! 🎉🎊 cool

The performance is impressive, everybody agrees. But the price has ceased to be sexy enough to move us like those who got SCOA before the pumping started.

Sorry if this comment reads like a joint work of Nosa and Agba. grin

Bro this is my exact position. I keep watching my 14m in my account rather that put head in the market.
Waiting for the right opportunity to jump in rather than putting my money in many of the stocks trending in the market.
For many of the entry price is on the high. Capital preservation is uttermost. I no dey do kalokalo not when Dangote dey around the corner.

FIRSTHOLDCO will shoot up like a growth stock once the current management sort all the problems of the NPLs of the past. I quote the following from the Nairametrics report;

"The profit decline can primarily be attributed to impairment charges for losses, particularly loans and advances to customers, amounting to N710 billion."

We all know of at least 2 major battles in court the bank is fighting to recover money from debtors who are trying to run away with billions of dollars they took from the bank in its yahoo days. Many banks would have collapsed under the weight of such NPLs. Imagine if all such loans were recovered. I will be surprised if the SP of FIRSTHOLDCO dips much after tomorrow.

EDUECO:
Does that mean Geregu Bank (aka Last Bank) will not pay their usual 50/60 Kobo dividend?

First Bank has become the Last Bank! grin

Stockpromoter:
ROYAL EXCHANGE (ROYALX) – Q4 2025 IN FOCUS
Market attention is shifting to Royal Exchange Q4 2025 numbers, as current forecasts point to over ₦1bn profit after tax in Q4 alone. This is significant because Q4 is typically the strongest quarter for insurance firms due to premium recognition, investment income and claims adjustments.
If Q4 delivers ₦1bn+ PAT, even a modest or breakeven performance in Q1–Q3 means FY 2025 unaudited results will close positive, confirming a clear turnaround for the company.
A strong Q4 would:
Validate Royal Exchange’s earnings recovery
Reset market perception from survival to growth
Support a re-rating ahead of audited results
As long as the Q4 profit is largely operational and not just one-off accounting gains, the market is likely to price in the turnaround before full-year numbers are released.
In insurance stocks, earnings inflection always comes before price breakout. Q4 2025 is the key trigger to watch.
Well, the figures are in and RoyalExchage underperformed. Although it chose to report only year to date figures, if you compare the 12 months PBT of N924m to the nine months figure, you wil deduce that it made a loss of N561 in Q4 2025 which is no where near the N1 billion you projected.

I am not sure of what will push prices up in the short run the way you expect as the NIIRA act effect seems to have cooled and the uptrend in NGX also seems to be selective for now.

With current shareholder funds of only N7.6billion, the company will need to look for new capital within the next 5 months to re-capitalise the following subsidiaries

- Royal Exchange General Insurance: Minimum capital specified by NIIRA is 2025 N15 billion
- Royal Exchange Prudential Life: minimum capital specified by NIIRA is 2025 N10 billion
- Royal Exchange Microfinance Bank: CBN minimum capital for different categories of MFBs range from N50m to N5 billion

This company is prime candidate for merger, or acquisition or massive RI/PO/PP to raise at least N17 billion before July 31, 2025.

They are making much more money than it reaches the downline. Inaddition, they are growing their receivables rather than otherwise.

Short to midterm Traders may tend to benefit more.

Those who bought between ₦3-₦5 as at May, June 2023 are those currently reaping dividend yield of 10% and above.
