Consistency is the quiet skill every successful developer masters. It’s opening your laptop when motivation is low, debugging when the error makes no sense, and writing code that no one will praise today. It’s choosing progress over perfection, one small commit at a time. Over months, that daily effort compounds into confidence, mastery, and real-world impact. You don’t become a great developer overnight—you become one by showing up, again and again. |

This feature allows users to save products they are interested in by adding them to their wishlist. It is especially helpful when a customer finds an item they like but may want to purchase later, making it easier to revisit and order the product at any time...this is the product display page where you can check out hair products. The Hair products with "red love icon" has been selected and it's going to appear in the wishlist inside user's account.

Hi Emmanuel 👋 Great work—this is genuinely impressive. The health & fitness tracking app sounds very well thought out, especially with features like step tracking, calories, vitals (BP & blood sugar), and the health blog. Light/dark mode plus a clean UI is always a big win for user experience 👍 It’s also inspiring to hear how Nairaland’s Programming section has kept you motivated through tough moments—that journey resonates with a lot of developers here. React.js + Next.js combined with full-stack capability puts you in a strong position, especially for scalable, real-world products. Wishing you success as the project moves out of beta. Keep sharing your work—looking forward to seeing more of your projects on this thread 🚀 If you’re ever interested in collaboration or scaling products for global clients, feel free to check us out as well: https://codetailor.in |

New Project: Personal Project. For years, I’ve helped businesses and brands bring their ideas to life through websites and web applications. Now, I’m turning that experience inward and building something of my own. I’m launching a News, Gist, Entertainment, and Information platform built as a full-stack application, powered by a Next.js frontend and a WordPress backend in a headless setup. This approach gives me the best of both worlds: complete freedom to design and customize the user interface exactly how I want on the frontend, while WordPress handles content management seamlessly in the background. All news, updates, and articles are published from the WordPress backend and delivered to the Next.js frontend through APIs. The result is a fast, flexible, and modern platform that’s easy to manage, highly scalable, and tailored to my vision. It’s a setup I genuinely enjoy working withand one that makes building and sharing content even more exciting. |

This project is personal to me. Before diving fully into web development, I was a graphic designer, and for this startup, I went back to my roots by designing the logo myself. It represents my creative foundation and the journey that led me here. The platform itself is built with a Next.js frontend and a WordPress backend in a headless setup. I manage and publish content from WordPress, while the frontend delivers a fast, modern experience through APIs. It’s a clean blend of design, development, and storytelling, everything I’ve grown into over the years, now coming together in one product.

Being stuck with bugs on my new startup website is frustrating. This is the part of being a developer I hate the most. Sometimes it’s not about skill, it’s the mental strain that comes with debugging for hours. It can really mess with your mental health, but it’s all part of the journey. |

When I started building this news and publication platform, my goal was simple — create something structured, useful, and easy to navigate. I wanted a platform that doesn’t just post random articles, but one that organizes information in a smart way. At the top level, the platform covers: News Education Japa Routes Life After Japa Health Tech & Gadgets Sports But I didn’t stop there. Under Education, I went deeper because students and young professionals need more than just updates. They need guidance. So I created focused sections: Academics Migration Exam & Admission Learning & Career Guide Scholarships Student Life Then I added a More section for lifestyle and money conversations: Business & Economy Vibes N Cruise Finance Everything is arranged in a way that makes sense. Whether someone is searching for scholarship updates, migration advice, football news, or tech trends, they can easily find what they need. But the most interesting part for me was the technology behind it. I built the backend with WordPress and connected it to a fully custom-coded Next.js frontend. At first, I didn’t realize how powerful that combination could be. WordPress handles the content. Next.js handles the design, speed, and performance. Whenever I publish an article in WordPress, it appears on the frontend almost instantly through APIs. No stress. No rebuilding the whole site. Just smooth, real-time updates. That was the moment I fully understood the power of headless architecture. WordPress is no longer just about themes and plugins. When combined with a custom Next.js frontend, it becomes a strong content engine powering a modern web application. Simple backend. Custom frontend. Real-time updates. And honestly, that’s what makes it exciting for me as a developer.

Now to the backend architecture... |

Been following this thread for a while — the consistency alone is impressive. Most people post once and disappear. Curious about the backend architecture though. Are you going with REST APIs or GraphQL? And is this still a Next.js + WordPress headless setup or did you switch to something else for the backend? |
| Re: My Website/Web Application Projects by aktem(op): 5:56pm On Mar 01 |
as69:. Wow, Glad to hear that, Thanks Boss... I'm going with REST API..yes, it's Next.js + Wordpress headless setup, This setup is really good for a News, entertainment and publication website. Since wordpress already has its own Admin dashboard, publication panel and database, no need wasting my time to create another admin dashboard. |

aktem:. After connecting Next.js Frontend and Wordpress backend/database using REST API( I'll show the code later) My news, articles appear at the Next.js frontend. I've installed plugins like YoastSEO on the backend. The question now is: How will YoastSEO work when Our frontend is not wordpress?

This is how fetch Yoast SEO fields from WordPress REST API to the frontend and also dynamically generate OT tags to control social preview when news or website link is posted on social media like: Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Twitter tags for X(Twitter).

For people wondering how Wordpress backend connects to Next.js frontend. it's made possible with the Help of this API data, information embedded inside .env file

The first image shows an article created in the WordPress admin editor, complete with assigned news/article categories and tags. The second & third image displays how the article appears on the frontend, presented in a clean and modern layout with both light and dark mode support. Once an article is published in the WordPress backend, it is automatically updated and displayed on the frontend in real time.
