Might not be related.

OandO peaked in September 2024 (₦95) whereas the Settlement Deed was dated December 20, 2024
Its likely a case of "buy the news", it was probably formerly finalized in December

I subscribed for the Champion breweries public offer through the Meristem app. Up till now, my virtual account hasn't been debited.

I emailed yesterday and was assured it will be treated after the collation of requests. Is this normal? I thought the offer was supposed to end since 21st. This is the first time I'm buying through public offer so pardon my ignorance.

Well, Lagos State government owns majority stake here so there's no incentive to compete and do well in the market, and no fear that non performance will attract sanctions. Just civil service mentality.

Please why is NEIMETH giving a RI of 1 for 7 at N4.00 per share when it's SP on the floor today, the qualification date, is N10.75?

And I bought some shares today. Do I qualify?

🚨 Distress Signals (LIKELY PARTIAL DRIVER)
1️⃣ Cash urgency
Such a deep discount suggests:
Immediate working capital needs
FX pressure (imported raw materials in pharma)
Debt servicing or refinancing stress
In Nigeria’s pharma sector:
API imports are FX-heavy
Banks price credit expensively
Equity becomes the cheapest emergency funding
➡ This smells like balance-sheet stress, not optional fundraising
2️⃣ Weak institutional appetite
If institutions were lining up:
They could have priced closer to market (₦8–₦9)
A ₦4.00 price implies fear of undersubscription
This price:
Forces participation
Makes it irrational not to take up rights
📈 Positive Signal Elements (WHY IT’S NOT PANIC)
1️⃣ Rights issue (not a public offer)
This is crucial.
Management is asking existing owners to fund the business
They are not dumping stock into the open market
This signals alignment, not exit

This your ChatGPT na wa o
Does raising a RI indicates distress every time or expansion/increasing working capital?
GPT just gave a general scenario of likely events that surrounds raising funds but not peculiar to a company NEIMETH in this case.

To look at it from a realistic view now:
* RI is 1 new for every existing 7
* OS is 4.2b
* RI: 610m
- This doesn't signify distress but the need to fund a project or clean the balance sheet...... especially looking at the +ve turnaround in Q4 2025 and the boost going on in Pharma sector.
- The total RI units doesn't signify distress (if not, it would have been in billions)
- The possibility that the RI already have standby shareholder(s) to pick it up if qualified investors didn't turn up or couldn't meet up payment on time

* Qualification Date wasn't long
- The letter was dated 2nd February and qualification Date was same second February, this suggests that substantial shareholders are already picking it up (a ready market)
- 1 new for 7 indicates a highly discounted price for shareholders......
- discounting 1 out of 7 gives us 6....
- 6 x N4 = N24..
- In the long run, all things being equal, the share price should rise above N20

* This is my layman's interpretation of it.......and I'm responding because I'd mentioned it yesterday here.....
Patience is required

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 6:57am On Feb 03
I agree with your analysis. Infact my own estimate, if I am not wrong, shows that the RI will raise N2.4b. This will clear their -ve retained earnings of just under N900m and address other issues. The huge N6.75 discount in the RI price is in effect a dividend payment to existing shareholders, which they cannot give directly given the -ve retained earnings situation.

Note that my views are just possible scenarios.

You are the one assuming all invested funds are hard earned... wink

Some people on this thread just hate money or they pretend to. 😒

How will someone invest his hard earned money and be comfortable with no capital appreciation after many years in the market 🤔
