Once a cat makes your home its home it will fight any other major animal that comes in particularly rats, lizards and snakes

Yes, cat has a faster reflex than a snake but it depends on the size of the snake o. What is a cat weapon? It's paw. Against a full size cobra or viper, the paw is just an irritant

Not terribly sure about a mongoose, but definitely a badger. Honey badgers are actually more intelligent that cats. As for a mongoose, I'm sure that with enough training it will be possible as well.

The only animals I know can kill snakes are mongoose and honey badger.

Others do it once in a while by try your luck........I have seen a video where a mother hen had a ferocious fight with a snake, the hen died few minutes later while the snake sustained injuries. Don't know if it later died.
