I like the way Otedola marketed FIRSTHOLDCO after the release of the seemingly bad results. It shows that maybe now Nigerian corporate leaders are taking the stock prices of their companies more seriously than before when they were only satisfied with just milking the companies to the bone. |

Ote is only special because he wants to be (remain) on the Forbes' list. The best way to achieve that is to have booming stock prices for all his companies. Raider76: |

Many didn't read the Press Release. The acquisition of additional 40% stake in ND Western (which ultimately adds 20% to ARADEL stake in RAEC) was NOT included in the FY'25 because it was sealed on 31 December 2025. Q1'26 will give us an estimate of the impact... ![]() yMcy56: |

deathwing:Custodian’s 2025 results look strong, but it wasn’t a normal growth year. Total assets expanded sharply from about ₦407bn to over ₦1.0tn, mainly due to acquisitions and a big increase in investments. Although these acquisitions were funded internally, they also brought in large existing assets and liabilities, which significantly inflated the balance sheet. Profit after tax rose to about ₦67bn, with EPS of 1,119 kobo. However, earnings were heavily supported by investment income and market-related gains of over ₦110bn, compared to an insurance service result of roughly ₦12bn. This shows profits were more investment-driven than underwriting-driven. Operating cash flow of about ₦478bn looks very strong, but roughly ₦410bn of this came from a sharp rise in trade payables, meaning cash was boosted mainly by delayed payments rather than permanently higher earnings. Given the mixed quality of earnings and higher sensitivity to markets, I think a reasonable valuation range is a P/E of about 5x–7x, not a high insurance multiple. Applying this to the EPS of ₦11.19 gives a fair value range of roughly ₦56 to ₦78 per share (aj8 style ). Until earnings stability is proven through a weaker market cycle, 2025 should not be treated as a clean baseline year.Numbers first, narratives later. -- ositadima1 |

I now agree say miracle dey happen well, well. In the recklessness that buildup to 2008 crash, I got to my now dead broking firm desk and I discovered someone in there had dumped some units of standard alliance insurance into my portfolio, and my acct balance was in the negative. My protest yielded no result as they debited the amount from my subsequent sell orders. Since then, I had taken it as part my sch fees. Now the stock has resurrected! Surely, miracles happens! yMcy56: |

zendi:Exactly. Please try soften it o because with an OS of almost 13bn, I don't think the price will go very high. Had they done the rumoured reconstruction of 1 for 4, then the OS would have come down to 4bn plus and with the 0.38k EPS of their last good result, the N5 hope would have been valid. But however, this does not rule out the possibility of miracles that will defy all my analysis paralysis above . |

Streetinvestor2:We shall surely see N2 for a stock with full bid today to the tune of over 400m units in bid but buyers got only about 2.5m units to buy. Recall that Standard Alliance used to be in the same league with NEM, CUSTODIAN, IEI of those days, and AIICO Just before the crash in 2008. |

Sell/Buy rates closed at ₦1358.2839/₦1357.2839. A ₦14 gain for the naira. Other major currencies also declined against the naira, indicating that the dollar isn't the only sick currency. Streetinvestor2:https://www.ngnrates.com/market/exchange-rates/us-dollar-to-naira/cbn-central-bank-of-nigeria |
