Seeing a dollar trading at N1000 at the end of the year will be a thing of great delight

Curious to know how this will impact the profit of companies like PRESCO that export their products

For sure companies that import, the ones that have exposure to foreign loans and the country at large stands a lot to gain. This might be a signal to the continuation of the bullish run

May Nigeria succeed.

Oil block sales are under NUPRC.
The state assets being sold/privatized are under BPE. They may include O&G assets like refineries but not oil blocks
What I mean is NNPC stake (%) in some oil blocs JVs; they were described as ''assets'' when the news broke last year

Very valid point. Seplat and others that earn in FX will equally be affected. But the expansion in scale by companies like Presco and Aradel should count for something

Between Jan and March 2016 I was on vacation in Nigeria and during that period I recall there was a sort of crash in oil prices.

Which made OANDO traded at sub #2:00k
First bank traded at sub #3:00k, Stanbic at sub #15. SEPLAT at sub #200. etc
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Stockhunter: 6:33pm On Feb 12
@Sunrise, i comot cap for you.. You seem to get information ahead... From vitafoam, wema, nahco, now seplat. We appreciate you for the heads up. Please keep up the good work..

They are planning to do one. I have good information they will. I don’t know the ratio though
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jckgroup1(m): 6:34pm On Feb 12
Pa Emma, from the document Seplat sold at sub N200. You can do well to share January 2016 price list and Nov/Dec 2026.

The reason is simply about the growth potential and promised dollar dividend, did you see the attached news headlines?

I guess this was when Seplat was listed

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by millo: 7:29pm On Feb 12
Did you say no dividend? Accesscorp has declared dividend every year for last 5 years averaging 10% of SP. Bad idea in my view to sell now. You might wait for SP to run up by almost 10% before Ex-div date. Some sell then, some wait for their dividend. I know the price is not moving much, but it is a solid, safe stock to have.

So, from around 700 in 2014, it went down to as low as sub 200 in 2016? Was 2014 the year it listed?
Those queueing up for Dangote IPO must watch this interesting history.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 7:47pm On Feb 12
I asked chatgpt. Below is the response:

Seplat (now Seplat Energy Plc) listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in April 2014 as part of a dual listing on both the NGX and the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

Key details:

Listing date: April 2014

Offer/Listing price: ₦576 per share

Board: Premium Board (NGX)

Also listed on: London Stock Exchange (LSE)

This was one of the most significant dual listings in Nigeria’s capital market at the time.

If you want, I can also pull the IPO size, shares offered, and original valuation.

Any idea when JAPAULGOLD audited report will be out? Or what triggered the 8% dip today? Thinking of biting the bullet and jumping into it.

From the trade alerts that have so far come in.

I made over 1000 deals today!

This means everyone - retail, institutional or foreign investors who traded in the market today had a 2% chance of either selling to me or buying from me 😎

I like how my place is being solidified in this market.

I don't believe in this ''it's been priced in the asset'' thing every time some latest development or news is announced about a stock.
The price can adjust further if the news is fundamental or critical to the prospects of the stock.
For instance, Deapcap may still rise higher because the AGM to approve the capital raise is coming up on 10th March, with a partner injecting additional N5b.
Better to always evaluate the context and potential impact of the news before we conclude that ''it's been priced in the asset''
If everything has been priced in the asset, then there should be no price movements at all. The market is not entirely efficient, hence news and developments can move the price at anytime.
Don't mind him
He sold already and planning to re-enter but the news don spoil show for him I think....
The news is an update just released on the 11th, so how could it have been priced in?
By 10th March after AGM, another tranche of N5b injection is expected.
