Listen up, a whole international property lawyer learned this the hard way.
Hold tight to your Ellah Lakes and Japaul Gold until 2035—crystal ball projections (and solid fundamentals) point to 10x potential from here.
Discipline is the real key to joining the billion-naira gang in this forum. I learned that straight from the masters: Peter Lynch, Charlie Munger, and Warren Buffett.
Motivation fades when real challenges hit, but true discipline endures.
Sow good seeds today—never feel guilty about strategic diversification. Patience and time will announce your efforts far beyond what you can imagine.

crownprince2017:
To the people advocating for MTN, do you use MTN data at all, if you do, you should know that it takes just efficient competitor with wide coverage and affordability to wipe the revenue from that aspect a way. MTN is a definition of failure when it comes to data business, very very bad value for money.

I don't know the extent of that business to their revenue but in the long run I believed they will loose that battle except something is seriously being done to mitigate that asap.
Have you used the MTNN FibreX?

Do you all actually believe that Agba is just there observing the market, waiting for his much talked about 'November 100% yield' and just watching all these endless opportunities fly by? No nah. I don't believe so. Man is undoubtedly invested in the market. He is just catching cruise as they say grin grin

Mankind2024:
Yes, Mr. Agba is humble. Was reportedly clocked billions in gains around 2017/2019, right in the thick of that brutal market downturn. Zenith Bank plunged from over ₦40 to as low as ₦16, and it got so intense that Jim Ovia had to step in and urge investors not to panic-sell. His famous words: “We have been in this situation before, and we will get over it.”
The irony? The only real thing that worked against Mr. Agba in recent years seems to be his own intelligence.
In most professions—engineering, law, medicine, accounting—the more knowledge and expertise you accumulate, the higher your earnings climb. But in the capital markets, the opposite often holds true. History shows time and again that too much knowledge, over-analysis, or a high IQ can become a serious disadvantage.
Overcomplicating things, timing the market, second-guessing the obvious, or holding on too long or too short because of "smart" reasons has tripped up even the sharpest minds—including Mr. Agba—from 2022 till now.
The lesson? In investing, discipline, patience, and simplicity frequently outperform raw intellect. Sometimes, the best move is to know just enough... and then act decisively without overthinking.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:33pm On Feb 14
I won't be deploying any cash at the moment. In relation to my Portfolio, largely JUST WATCH.

PRESCO: waiting for coorperate action (my presco is for loooooonnnnnnnggggg term anyway)
NAHCO: waiting for coorperate action (also a loooonnnggg term holding)
Zenith: waiting for coorperate action
Vitafoam: will dispose at 120
Transcorp: Hold
MTN: waiting for company result. HOLD
OANDO: Hold
JapaulGold: Hold

Modified: I've got very few units of TANTALIZER. If it drops to 4 - 4.5, might buy more.

This is no joke.
Mr. Agba nailed index predictions and stock tops/bottoms with sophisticated analysis from 2016 to 2021/2022.
But around 2021/2022, his tools started failing. I posted here that Transcorp was an untapped goldmine with ₦100 potential over time—yet using his same predictive methods, he called just ₦1 when it traded around ₦7 during Femi Otedola's backdoor stake-building (which later drove big gains).
Even the best models break when markets shift regimes.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mankind2024: 1:52pm On Feb 14
Smart money doesn't go aggressive in a bull market. They stay invested, hold core positions, and quietly build dry powder for the inevitable reversal—when cash becomes king.
In either scenario, they fear nothing. They know reversion to the mean is inevitable.

87 Billion USD
While the market cap was equivalent to 87 billion USD in 2013, some quality stocks would have delivered superior USD return in 2026, while some will deliver mediocre return

I use the following to track the performance of my dividend income.

1. Must be equivalent to at least a certain amount in USD

2. Must be minimum of certain multiple of the minimum wage

3. Must be minimum of certain multiple of our GDP per Capita.

4. Must be equivalent to the current market price of certain grams of gold.

It must meet up with at least 3 of the listed conditions

Problem is you're referring to annual interest.

The 8 zeros we saw here came in in 5 days.

Use Gemini preferably not ChatGPT or Grok. In 2013, the NGX market cap was around 13.3 trillion naira while the exchange rate was 155 to the dollar.
If we beat 87 Billion USD now we would likely have the highest market cap since the financial crisis in 2007.

Edit: Using Gemini now, I think I even understated our 2026 performance compared to 2013.
