Tybalo:Please can a student in University of Hertfordshire help me confirm if the university has MRes Physics for May 2026 intake? I saw it on their website and applied but I just want to be sure. And if their deposit is £5000 as stated on their website. I also want to know if Hertfordshire refund deposit if visa is not approved. Thanks |

Good afternoon gurus in the house, Please is it possible for current student in the UK to switch from masters degree program taught to Mres/Mphil program? What are the process to follow? If that is not possible, can I apply for Mres/Mphil program immediately after finish my current program, that is starting another study instead of applying for graduate Visa? I need your sincere response |

Fiestafetta:No, you can not switch from your current taught Masters to a Mres/Mphil program. The expected progression is a PhD program, why a Mres/Mphil program? |

It’s getting to the point where I’d really have to advise anyone still awaiting for their visa to withdraw their application and defer till September. But this time try to apply very early. Maybe around may/early June to avoid the late rush. |

Someone said UKVI have stopped issuing January intake visas... I don't know how true |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by daparrot: 7:23pm On Feb 16 |
Yes it is possible, although expected progression is PhD but in some cases you may want to acquire more research skill before progressing for a PhD. This is great if your MSc grades are average or below. You need to justify your reasons. C'est fini. Fiestafetta: |

Chaiii.... U have been really stressed FolashadeF: |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Charlex23(m): 8:39pm On Feb 16 |
FolashadeF:I’m in the same situation as you. I did my bio on December 30th.I’m fully aware how challenging the process has been. What I’d advise you to do is to apply for priority this time, that’s if your cas is issued late. Just to be on the safer side |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Peterrock2025(m): 8:41pm On Feb 16 |
Been stressed is an understatement If I tell you I be MRES may intake 2025 Bolton and they kept on deferring me till Jan 2026…would you believe?? Note: it is the school that is automatically deferring me ooo not self deferment… |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Peterrock2025(m): 8:44pm On Feb 16 |
Charlex23:If possible if I see super priority oo.. if I eventually withdraw and put in next time😰 |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by macjireh: 8:46pm On Feb 16 |

FolashadeF:Totally get where you're coming from . CAS timing is a big deal, and it's frustrating when schools drag their feet on that. Given your situation, I'd say it's worth having a chat with your school about their CAS plan. Explain that you're applying for biometrics early, but you need that CAS on time to make the visa application solid. Since you've been deferred twice already (Sept to Jan, and now potentially to Sept again), they need to give you some solid assurances. If they can't give you a straight answer, might be worth exploring other options or getting more clarity on their end. You wouldn’t want to be stuck in a limbo again . |
| Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Charlex23(m): 10:22pm On Feb 16 |
Peterrock2025:At this point super priority is worth considering. Imagine applying twice and still being stuck. |
