In retrospect, one of the best decision I made last year was liquidating my usd holdings in money market to invest in the NGX after seeing the market momentum. The plan was just to beat mutual funds or money market rate which was higher than most dollar mutual funds. That goal has been exceeded not because I am a guru at timing the market. While I didn't invest in most of the stocks that had given over 300% considering their liquidity and fundamentals, Stocks like Nahco, Presco, PZ, WAPCO, MTNN, Aradel have delivered at least 80% - to over 100% all under 6-8months while I sleep peacefully at night ![]() Mission accomplished. Next mission is to know when to sell and not continue shifting the goal post. Stocks like Presco and Nahco makes it difficult considering they have refused to considerably retraced but rather maintained their upward trajectory. So far, been a good year and one of the best seasons for my portfolio generally in over 10years in this business. Kudos to everyone that selflessly contribute to this thread and sharing great perspective. You guys are the best. |

Agbalowomeri:I doubt if insiders bought the offer. The problem with the stock is that most of the shareholders did not buy the public offer, they only want new investors to buy the offer at the inflated price |

Same here. Because I know they plant to use internal cash flow rather than raising external money. But with their other business they’ve acquired they’ve still paid decent dividends. I think it’ll be fine robobo: |

Valthegreat:NGX should ban listing by introduction. New companies should come to NGX through Initial Public Offer or Offer for Sale. |

emmanuelewumi:Months ago I mentioned it here that Ellah stock price is being manipulated by the insiders particularly but it was taken with a pinch of salt. Their luck is that the NGX is not really developed. The price of their stock would have dropped drastically to below 5 following this news. I don't know how you'd give N6 billion loan to your own company within 48 hours and then agree to convert the loan to shares at N3 when price of the stock has flown to over N17 following release of propaganda information about acquiring strategic assets blabla. No sensible investor will touch the PO because those directors will be waiting to dump their shares on the public to lock in their unmerited gains. Ellah lakes may go to the moon in future but the management should learn to be more honest. This is not 2001 in Nigeria where there was no internet and you could scam people through manipulating stock price in the NGX. |

2zona:The industrial salt section of the company is minting good money for the company. The company gifted trucks and cash worth billions of Naira to their customers just a few days ago. They are sitting on a lot of cash. FY2025 was really good for them and 2026 is also looking like it's going to be better. The growth has been impressive. |

emmanuelewumi:In other words, this ELLAH's misfortune is waiting to befall ZICHIS when they will come to raise their own funds with manipulated share prices too? A company that generated just #400m revenue last business year is now worth almost #11b just because they listed on NGX. Awesome, CrownPrince and Street investor una no go come make we contribute #100m each to start a farm business and bring it to NgX after 2years so that we blow the valuation to #15B and cash out sharperly ![]() |

KarlTom:Dem say timeline is still on till March 31st.. May not retract for too long if they succeed through other means before Q1. But it's quite disappointing from them.. They should have combined it like TIP, and other companies.. Hybrid offer.. RI & PO. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 4:07pm On Feb 20 |
emmanuelewumi:They gave a caveat of 31st March. deal isn't over yet. That might sustain the price a bit from free fall. ee say na content creators ![]() |

KarlTom:We missed ZICHI by a whisker, Last year Dec one of our Analog broker sent a prospect of ZICHIS PLC and said if we are interested he will cross deal any quantity to us at the rate of 2.50k per share instead of #1.81 that is in the prospectus. We didn't go ahead because of the UGLY experiences we had in the past with some private placements. Now ZICHI has gained almost 1000% and those who didn't partake in the loot are calling it manipulation. If they were involved they will tagged it their winning or retirement stock. BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE! |

chimex38:I think Ellah should have staggered their capital raise programme i.e. one step at a time e.g. by starting with RI, PP, debt capital, then PO etc. To go for a full N250bn at once without a strong balance sheet was a bit too ambitious. For instance, Oando, with all its huge turnover and potentials, is first doing RI for only N220bn, then another N500bn, debt capital etc. |
