SOVREINS on full bid. The abracadabra of NGX
Sovereign on full bid alone is not abracadabra.
Before we scream bull, two key confirmations must align:
1️⃣ The Insurance Index on the Nigerian Exchange Limited must rise to a clear breakout level — not just small green candles, but a decisive push above recent resistance with strength.
2️⃣ Volume in Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc must expand aggressively and sustain — not just early session full bid that fades by 1–2pm. We need strong accumulation volume that absorbs sellers and holds price into close.
Until:
Insurance Index confirms trend change
Sovereign prints above resistance
Volume supports price (real demand, not thin book bid)
It remains a watchlist move, not confirmed bull control.
Full bid without index strength is noise.
Full bid with index breakout + heavy volume is signal.
Let’s see confirmation before celebration.

Keep your eyes on insurance index(Daily150m volume & above) is a breakout.
Insurance is the next bull rotation and re-rating is happening there soon

Lol. Loco we are not in a contest..
This is a market where anything can happen....
We've seen MTNN for instance, traded close to it's IPO price of N169, the same MTNN is selling above N700 today....
So let's keep the focus on making money rather than unnecessary discussions on a single stock.
When the time comes,. we'll remind ourselves again. 😊
Japaulgold is a N7,N10,N15,N20 stock.
I agree totally and will also be a beneficiary then but I only asked you keep calm for the stock to find this present support.

Only this present support Mercy

They did.

If this is the case, then they should at least compensate investors by paying some interest on the rejected funds, no matter how little.
This would actually show that the management has some integrity.

INSURANCE SECTOR RALLY – VOLUME CONFIRMATION GUIDE
Insurance stocks do not rally by noise.
They rally by volume expansion + sector participation.
If volume is not expanding, it is not a real rally.
🧭 1️⃣ SECTOR BAROMETER – INSURANCE INDEX
Before calling any rally, check the Insurance Index:
✅ What You Must See:
Index green for 2–3 consecutive sessions
Daily traded volume expanding vs previous days
At least 4–5 insurance stocks closing positive
🔥 Strong Sector Signal:
Noticeable spike in total sector turnover
Broad participation (leaders + mid caps moving together)
If only 1–2 stocks are green → That is not sector rotation.
🔵 2️⃣ TIER 1 VOLUME EXPECTATIONS (REAL MONEY SIGNAL)
These are the institutional leaders:
Custodian Investment Plc
NEM Insurance Plc
AXA Mansard Insurance Plc
📊 Bullish Volume Expectations:
Custodian
2m–5m = positioning
7m+ = institutional interest
NEM
1m–3m = attention
4m+ = strong demand
AXA Mansard
5m–8m = accumulation
10m+ = aggressive loading
👉 When at least TWO Tier 1 names hit bullish volume same day, sector strength is real.
If they are flat → sector rally may not sustain.
🟡 3️⃣ TIER 2 VOLUME EXPECTATIONS (Momentum Stocks)
Royal Exchange Plc
Lasaco Assurance Plc
Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc
Cornerstone Insurance Plc
Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc
Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc
📊 Bullish Volume Guide:
Royalex
10m–15m = retail activity
25m–50m = smart money
60m+ = breakout move
Lasaco / Cornerstone / Sovereign
5m–10m = positioning
15m+ = strong momentum
Veritas / Mutual Benefits
3m–7m = early move
10m+ = serious interest
🚨 HOW TO READ IT PROPERLY
✔️ Tier 1 leading + Tier 2 following = Sustainable rally
✔️ Tier 2 running alone = Fast speculative trade
✔️ Broad volume expansion across 5+ stocks = Sector rotation
✔️ One stock with big volume = Possible distribution
🎯 FINAL RULE
Insurance rally is confirmed when:
Index is green
Tier 1 volume expands
Tier 2 joins
Participation is broad
No broad volume, no real rally.
That is how professionals read the insurance sector.

Insurance index not yet bullish.
Keep eyes on indexins as we go into the month of March/April

Recapitalization is sure

Everyone is just saying, so so stocks are undervalued. When asi had done almost 4x in 3 years.
The question you should ask yourself is, are those companies supported by earnings? or you expect earnings to go up n price to come down.

Earnings are function of prices so where do you expect caution to come from?

Nothing lasts forever but where are you seeing signs of recession in the short to medium term?
In 2-3 years max. It may happen sooner.

What I am tracking is energy prices. Once energy prices top and starts going down that's an early sign.

Nigeria is heavily dependent on oil exports for revenue.
So I am watching for lower oil prices and opec announcement of production cut

But the ASI is not always the best way to judge individual stocks because it is easily influenced by some few huge cap stocks e.g DangCem, Seplat, Nestle etc.
Take Access Bank for instance. It is selling at N26+ (like Wema) while its peers are selling close to N50 and above; That should tell us if it is able to resolve its acquisitions, restructuring, NPL, forbearance etc. and pay dividend, it would sell well above that price.
Under normal circumstance, Wema and Access should not be at the same price.

Caution is the first law in every investment; it goes without saying!

I believed you are still living in the past, what is the percentage of oil to non oil export currently sir.

Well, if you are pessimistic due to your past experiences you can just exit rather than giving yourself unnecessary headache.

Your sanity is more important than the money.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 1:04pm On Feb 27
I don’t see it. The economy has partially decoupled from oil. Oil traded significantly lower last year and not much noise was made around it and it didn’t affect the FX rate. It is FPI’s interest in our instruments that is keeping things afloat, 2027 and beyond we should begin to see FDI’s. I don’t see it the way you are

Her concerns about crude price is still very valid.
If for instance, crude price tumbles to like $40 for a prolonged period, we are in trouble. Govt forex earnings would crash and they would devalue the naira to get more naira revenue from exports., plus the effect on other sectors that are linked to the global economy, including banks and oil companies.
Crude export is still the dominant component of our export revenues.
I stand to be corrected though.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megawealth01: 1:09pm On Feb 27
The bears will hit all markets... Markets do not go on one direction forever. That said... People should be allowed to enjoy this bull while it lasts 😀

And what is the chance of that happening based on current reality even when trump that wants cheaper oil couldn't devalued it.

Trump will soon leave office is also a good outlook for oil.

No one is sure, that is why she said she's always monitoring OPEC news and developments about oil price, quota, geoplotics etc.
Imagine what could happen if:
a. Iran succumbs to US pressure, threats, then all sanctions are lifted and Iran begins to pump a lot of oil into the world market.
b. there is war and Iran is attacked with the leader killed etc.

There's difference between pull back in oil prices and true crash.

Did it crash like 2014 or 2020?

In 2014 oil pull back from $100 to below $40. In 2020 it went near zero.

There was pull back last year. It was between 15-20% Not recession level crash.

I am not saying we are at the stage now. But it make sense to plan for the eventuality.

Megawealth01 is balling now because he seized 2020 crash and set himself up for the rally he is enjoying now.
