Lol, custody of what? Have you not been hearing all the discussions about CSCS domiciling your shares? The only thing they actually hold for you is the cash in your account waiting to be deployed, or the proceeds from your sales. Honestly, they should even be paying you interest, since that money generates interest for them.
Hmmm. on point

Trading212 pay me interest on my unused fund...
That is logical nah.

I had some funds sitting with Morgan for more than two months because I was busy at the time. That money did not generate a single kobo in interest, whereas my FCMB account would have earned over 1% interest by the end of the month.

The above might not work, this administration is leveraging the stock market as a high stakes scoreboard to signal economic stability and investor confidence ahead of the 2027 elections.

The stock market is perhaps the only arena in life where 26 yrs experience may counts for almost nothing.
Here, patience, humility, a steady temperament, and iron self-discipline are what separate the winners from the crowd.

Wapco - N6 wink

Bua Cement - N10 smiley

Dangote Cement - ? We are eagerly waiting. N30 will not be acceptable this year. We are expecting N40 > as the Baba of them all. Or Wapco and Bua cem will play catch up.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mankind2024: 8:50am On Feb 28
The brokers hold significant leverage in their push for custody rights or platform fees, because the government is heavily banking on Capital Gains Tax (CGT) revenue and is exploring ways to integrate brokers' platforms with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) system for seamless tracking.
If the government pushes ahead with this aggressive ("wicked"wink tax rollout, brokers are essentially the only entities with the ready infrastructure to sync purchase and sale prices (and thus calculate gains) directly with the NRS platform. This gives them strong negotiating power.
The government is well aware of how innovative and resourceful Nigerians can be in navigating (or avoiding) taxes, so they're aggressively exploring every possible avenue in this "EMILOKAN"-style emergency tax overhaul to maximize compliance and collections.
In short, brokers aren't just intermediaries—they're now a critical gateway for tax enforcement in this new regime, especially for stocks, crypto, or other assets where transaction data needs centralized reporting. This positions them to extract concessions like fees or custody roles in exchange for cooperation.

If he keeps to historicals, and a dividend payout ratio of at least 80% =N 46.50 dividend approximately on projected earnings which 2026 has already been beaten in Q3 2025. And, if he pays out 90% =N51.00. The only worry is whether the huge expansion across Africa would affect the payout ratio or he would fund majorly through financial instruments to pay back with future earnings.

With recent news though, the shares should blast through 1000 easily.

Though they could argue that unlike banks, they do not use your money for business.
It probably just sits there.
Or do they?

PE multiple is great at 14.5
BUA is 23.6
WAPCO is 12.2

Should it hit EPS YE 2026 of N100 or show Q1 2026 of around 25.00 then expect price in the neighborhood of N1450+80

Oil shock vs Oil boom. Iran is burning.
NGX must respond either way. No ground for neutrality.

I already gave up on the naira. Lol.
But if the naira should gain from this war, I will just transfer the few in my account to yours.

Such as unfair far. It has not even started and they have already eliminated the "supreme" military commander. Who will now lead the troops of one of the largest oil producers.

Hmm oil will climb if this war should stretch

I said should it.….

BUA quadrupled
WAPCO Doubled
Dangote……

Just an assumption based on probability. At least we can agree that it has the potential of exceeding it's Q4 of N13/14 in Q12026? Is it also possible or completely impossible to double that is 2026? Of course not entirely impossible. What's the probability, 0.5.

And for BUA? Would a doubling in 2026 surprise anyone when it quadrupled earnings?

Assumption are of course on all things being equal. Purely maths.

Is a price of 1450 impossible based on probability? Nope, if it shows signs of attaining Eps Q1 2026 of or around N25. Let's wait till end of Q1 then we can review with deeper clarity.

As predicted...

Using my Python Monte Carlo script, the estimated fair value ranges between ₦870 and ₦1,165. This is based on a purely generic model; once the full financial statements are released, we can conduct a more detailed analysis.

The results is not out. I don't even think it can be N45 for the FY when 9 months 2025 was already almost N44.

It will be disappointing to see N45.

I don’t understand the assumption logic. Do you know the reason for the quadrupling and doubling?
Look at where they were coming from in 2023/2024 with high interest payments on their FX related debt, higher energy costs with FX depreciation and weak demand. 2025 they made adjustments to pricing, fx stabilized, some paid down their debt and started having positive finance cost. I don’t see a huge driver for them to achieve that level of growth next year.

I heard a beer parlour rumour yesterday while in Kuje that Nigerian stockbrokers are proposing a custody fee for holding clients' assets on their platforms.
May this never be approved by the SEC!
It would add yet another layer of costs for retail investors already dealing with brokerage commissions, NGX/CSCS/SEC fees, stamp duty, etc.
Most reputable brokers in Nigeria don't currently charge ongoing custody or account maintenance fees for standard retail accounts. Introducing this could discourage long-term holding and hurt market participation.
Anyone else hearing this, or is it just talk?
You can just open a special account with CSCS
