Philistines didn't occupy the whole of the land. There were other nations. Read exodus, numbers Deuteronomy etc.. Gaza yes.. certainly not the whole place.. the Romans renamed the whole territory hitherto called Judea into Palestine to spite the Jews for their AD 70 revolt
Correct.

The demand that ancient city of Jerusalem (East Jerusalem, where David/Solomon's Temple is sited) be reserved as capital is even very curious.

Please are you sure Ositadimma is your name or just a pseudonym, honestly I just asked I mean no harm.
Because if that is your real name no matter where you live on planet earth you should be aware that thousands of civilians have been maimed, killed or wrongly tagged IPOB and 'disappeared' out of sight since over 5 years now within the South East communities. You don't know this but you are interested in Palestine?, sorry.
That is why I didn't bother myself with his question
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by SonofElElyonRet: 4:30pm On Mar 02
The question is why didn't Arabs clamour for a Palestinian state when west bank and Gaza were under Jordan and Egypt? The origin of this Palestinian cause is hatred for Jews simpliciter. No palestinan state ever existed

Valthegreat:
I don't think it is true that Palestine did not exist ab initio, if you read the book of Exodus-Joshua properly you will discover that the current Palestinians should be the Philistines which God warned the Israelites to annihilate completely from the land when they take over the promised land and that if they don't they will remain a thorn in their flesh Exod. 23:33, Numb 33:55-56, Joshua 2:3.
And Gaza was specifically mentioned as a land belonging to the Philistines in Joshua 13:2-3, Zephan 2:4-7.
In fact it was clearly stated that Sampson was imprisoned in Gaza by the Philistines Judges 16:1-21.
So there's no confusion about who are the Palestines, if you read the bible account they were the popular Philistines that has never allowed Israelites to drink water and keep cup since time immemorial. Whatever they are doing now is just a continuation of the war. If you read the bible well Palestinians have done more of whatever the Israelites are doing to them today in the past so I no dey watch their current movie, who ever has more power should win. But the war will never be over.
God warned the Israelites to conquer them clearly but they listed them as part of the land yet to be conquered in Joshua 13:2-3 so that war will be endless.

Please can someone help me clarify how the capital gains tax works? If I sell shares and take the sales proceeds to my bank account, will the cgt be deducted? What percentage? What if I don't take the money out but use the proceeds to buy more shares. What happens then?

Historically Jewish towns such as Bethlehem fall within Palestinian territory but Israel didn't make a big deal of it. There's also a mosque standing where the temple of Solomon used to be in Jerusalem but Israel has not demolished it and has no plans to do so

Incidentally, Judea and Samaria (the so-called West Bank) was captured and occupied by Jordan in 1948 during the Arab-Israeli war until 1967 when Israel recaptured the place.
The Jews were short-changed for long and had to compromise a lot because they were small in population and did not have military power.
Very curious that their homeland which they recaptured from Jordan is now being termed '' occupied Palestine''. Propaganda at its best.

Yeah...it was one of the compromise to allow peace to reign but currently, the hardline Jews are not insisting that ALL their heritage in the Judea and Samaria, including Bethlehem would no longer be given out.

Your initial statement made me go and do a quick read up of Judah and Israel.... It turns out that the Southern Israel which is where Jesus is from mostly referred to 2 tribes (Judah and Benjamin) out of the 12 tribes of Israel and that Judah holds the other 10 tribes.

If my understanding of what I read is correct then present day Israel is operating mostly from a section of olden Judea whereas the Southern Israel is the disputed part that the Palestine are staying in at the moment.

The Palestinians are staying in the olden day Judea and Samaria, which were the most populated areas of the olden day Israel
Judea is to the south of Jerusalem and Samaria is to the north of Jerusalem. Galilee is at the far north, close to the Lebanon/Syria borders.
Most of most modern day Israel is clustered around Jerusalem, and to the southern part of the country

Iran should watch how it attacks fellow Arab nations so it does not lose their support and sympathy because that would be a big mistake.
We hope the possible rise in fuel price would not cascade down to affect our pump price in Nigeria too?
Fellow Arabs, how? Iranians are not Arabs.

The Philistines distinct culture disappeared after Babylonian and later Persian conquests. The Romans renamed the area Palestina after crushing the Jewish revolt in 135 CE. Please note that Palestinians are not descendants of the Philistines.
Palestinians are NOT Philistines. Palestinaian are actually Canaanites.. surprised?

There are no living people who are purely Canaanite descendants. Palestinians, Jews, Lebanese, Syrians, Jordanians, all carry significant genetic ancestry from the ancient Canaanites.
