I just hope Access Bank would pay something reasonable, especially since they did not pay interim dividend
I am hoping for at least 2 naira, I topped up my holding last week because i just could not find any other cheaper Bank stocks than Access.

Please can someone help me clarify how the capital gains tax works? If I sell shares and take the sales proceeds to my bank account, will the cgt be deducted? What percentage? What if I don't take the money out but use the proceeds to buy more shares. What happens then?
You won't be taxed if you use the proceeds to buy more shares.

You might want to read that section again because that part was clear.

Yes o. You are very correct. It doesn't make any sense in buying all stocks. There are about 155 stocks on NGX today. I presently own about 30 companies. This really doesn't make sense. I have planning to trim it down to 10 stocks which have rewarded me in dividends and capital appreciation. I am really working on it. If one is heavily loaded in a stock, once they pay dividend you are very happy. Hence, i am concentrating my energy to massively invest in just 10 stocks. cool
My oga Buffett said that over diversification is protection against ignorance.

For me no one needs more than 5 solid quality growth stocks especially when your capital is below 100m

This is what is called dividend, you will only get reasonable dividend when you concentrate in the right stocks esp with good capital. Quality growth stocks

Nigerian stocks are fairly stable and move upward so it is easy to hold unlike foreign shares that are very volatile. You would need extra grace to hold such shares.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi: 8:00pm On Mar 02
This is ancient history, not religious theory.

It does now seem clear from all the foregoing conversation and other accounts I had heard before that a people called Canaan with other tribes lived on the land. Then came Powers in the following order and conquered/owned/ruled the territory, namely,

Abrahamites
Assyrians
Babylonians
Persians
Greeks
Romans
Ottomans
British

The succession of one Power by another was by conquest of the former by the later.

The Greek came with a tribe known as Philistines.
The Philistines were either Greek or some other European tribe the Greek brought with them.
When the Greek left, the Philistines remained and inter-bred with Arabs.
I don't know how or when the word Arab came about.

The Romans who succeeded the Greeks named the entire territory Palestine.
They may have corrupted or modified the word from Philistine, which was one of the identities they met on ground, but Philistine and Palestine were never the same.
Also neither of the words was Arab, both were European.

Each of the departing Powers took some of the Abrahamites, later called Jews, away as slaves. That was how the Jews came to be dispersed over the diaspora, especially over Europe.

In 1948 the British established the State of Israel on the Land and many of the dispersed Jews returned. Important to note that Israel was set up on a land that belonged to the British Empire officially and legally and not to any other Power.

That is not the end of the Israeli/Palestinian story but only the beginning.

I am expecting dividend like N2 or N3 from Access because they did not declare interim dividend
I am expecting the rise to hit N35-N40 after the dividend so I can sell and move the funds to Dang Refinery IPO or Providus-Unity Bank.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by millo: 8:11pm On Mar 02
cheesy We are many planning same move.

No tax if entire proceeds are reinvested.

Very easy: Buy the structural winners, then do nothing. Except buying more when there's a big pullback.

If you're bored, come here and debate with people who think they're smarter than the principle of compounding and can predict the future like Nostradamus.

Thank you for this information.
I believe Morgan Capital issues arose from biting more they can chew they used to very be effective. I transferred money the other day, they made a mistake by crediting me with a wrong amount. It took me 3 emails before it was corrected and eventually i missed trading this particular day. This is a company i registered online, never knew anybody or their location. But, they used to be very efficient and effective. But, i can't say what happen within the last 3 months
