I don't know why some unscrupulous Nigerians chose to scam people online thinking it's best way to go. This is a disclaimer. Someone used my username name to scam an unsuspecting man few days ago. He sent the guy a DM claiming to be me.

Later the guy sent him #35K after he promised him training and to send him sales letters... Imagine. Later he blocked him.

Please I will never DM you. It's people that need my training or mentorship that will contact me nau not otherwise. My contact details is already in my signature. Always verify appropriately and ask of PROOFS of consistent sales before doing business with anyone here. Many criminals roaming about in this forum.

As for the scanner that thinks he's smart, here's his details

Name: STEPHEN AYANTOYE.

I called him but when he sensed danger, he hung up.

He don't know that internet doesn't forget.

@Olasquare tell us what happened more so others don't fall for this.

Let us just be careful. We can never be TOO CAREFUL IN DOING DUE DILIGENCE. I blame myself for being overly relaxed and unsuspecting.

On the night of February 23 I posted a question into the thread, tagging iykepromotions. The impersonator saw this, and I became his “good” prey.

I think he got my WhatsApp number from a search on nairaland through adverts I posted. He messaged me at 00:45 AM 25th February. I woke up to his messages claiming he is iykepromotions. Gbam! I clicked into that thinking that’s who I was chatting with; believing he still has my contact having done training with him years back. My big blunder was if iykepromotions still has my number, it should be my airtel line which was my primary line back then: now Mtn line is my primary line. And this fraudster is chatting me on Mtn.

Fast forward, we reached some conclusions which involves money because he said he has a WhatsApp group to add me to where I will get more helpful resources, and tools to enhance training. So, I am paying for the group; and also in appreciation of his help to my initial question on nairaland, give him a token, no matter how small. The group is 30k. Therefore, everything became 35k

Screenshots of our chats will explain some other parts because by evening of that day, I don’t have the mental stamina to conduct any verification due to excess fatigue. We agree that I will transfer to him in the evening.

Please doubt everything and verify well before you commit

Thanks

The story cool

I reached out to a few end-users last year when I priced this for 999. No show. So, I hiked the price to 3k when I reviewed some listing prices upwards towards the end of last year.

I received a message from an Afternic broker about a 1.1k offer last month, stating this was an improvement from an earlier 750 offer. This was just a month and a day after the domain would have expired if I hadn't renewed it.

I asked the broker to try and push to about 1.5k. I probably would have accepted that 1.1k if not that I forgot it wasn't the first offer but the first that I was informed about. cheesy I always try to counter first offers ever since I got that tip 2-3 years ago - coupled with personal experiences.

After that, the lead disappeared from my dashboard. I thought the deal fell through. cheesy I had to use Grok day(s) later for a second opinion on whether I priced the domain too high and got a confirmation that it was fair pricing, so I planned to continue renewing it. smiley

I was informed five days after the initial contact that the buyer agreed to do a maximum of 1.5k. Thanks be to God!

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for a detailed explanation of what happened between you and the criminal . Again. Let's be more careful.

Scammers are using different ways to get their victim. I remember those days am planning to get a website, went to webmaster section in this Nairaland and contacted one guy. Long story short, I sent him money to start work, guy man blocked me immediately. Lol.

Later a good old friend later did the website for me for a token. But I repeat it, you don't need to scam anyone online or even offline before you can make money online. There are many genuine ways to make money online either by selling a product or rendering a service. That's all. You will be making your money consistently with your peace of mind.

Subject: My Nightmare With Mailsuite

Most of us use who engage in outbounding do so manually. This this takes a great deal of time and effort.

I learnt the system could be automated using either Gmass or Mailsuite. At the click of a button, you can send your email to hundreds of people in a second. The best part, it enters into their inboxes and not spam.

At present, I can only speak for Mailsuite as that is what I use. My emails enters inbox and not spam. Mailsuite costs $9.99 a month.

The first mistake I made was using my primary email account to register with Mailsuite. It is best you use secondary email address when paying for ther service. I did not realise that when making payment. I thought you could choose any email address you wanted regardless of what you registered with. I hope you are learning.

So, I paid a email scrapper here on NL to get me a list of email addresses related to the domain I was selling. He sent me 155.

Before sending, I tested by sending it to my other email addresses and they entered their inboxes. I was ready for business!

I now sent to all the email addresses.

First thing I noticed was that about 20 of the emails bounced. The email addresses were no longer active. I do not blame the guy who send me the scraped emails. It was not his fault. I was also informed only one person opened and this broke my sweet little heart cry cry

That was nothing really.

Then the nightmare started. I was logged out of my gmail address. It seems Gmail flagged my activity as spam. Trying to recover my gmail address soon became a nightmare. I had forgotten the password. I used the the very many alternative ways Gmail provided but it was draining, and kept coming up with glitches. I suffered for over 12 hours and I only rectified it this morning.

Nevertheless, one reason why I feel it might have flagged as spam was due to many bounced mails. It was about 15% of the emails sent.

Due to this, I was compelled to search how I can verify if an email address is still active and not dormant. Google AI mode gave me a list of websites that do the job.

What is the way forward now? I want to send some mass emails today! Never, ever give up.

By the way, Iykepromotions uses Mailsuite. His opinion would be appreciated.
Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by iykepromotions(op): 11:02am On Mar 06
@grandstar So what's the nightmare there now? Jusr ask your email extractor guy to verify those emails for you and continue with your outstanding . And make sure you are using an old email account. Your subscription can be transferred to another email account if yiu make a request. Yes I've done it several times.

Gmail may ban your account temporarily due to the bulk sending and they will ask you to verify you're truly the owner. That's all. A code will be sent to your phone for verification and that solves it.

I've used several mass emailing software even when streak is still working, mailsuite is still the best. You will even be notified when someone clicks on the link of your domain.

Rectify and drop your sales report.

No need for these paid services. Just use BCC in your Gmail to mass mail. Seeing who opens this email doesn't really, in my experience, change anything. It's just a torture for your spirit and blind hope for your soul. Use the free BCC and send to 50 contacts per mail. A max of 200 in 24 hours if I were you.
