VERY BAD NEWS ALERT!!! President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite. This was disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. Onanuga also said Uzoka-Anite will now move to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, as the Minister of State, her third portfolio in the administration. The statement said, President Tinubu has today conveyed the nomination of Oyedele to the Senate for confirmation in a letter to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. Until President Tinubu nominated him as a minister, Oyedele from Ikaram, Akoko, Ondo State, was the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, which overhauled Nigeria’s tax system. Oyedele, 50, is an economist, accountant and public policy expert. He attended Yaba College of Technology, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in accountancy and finance. He attended Oxford Brookes University and earned a BSc in applied accounting. He also completed executive education programmes at the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Harvard Kennedy School. Oyedele spent 22 years of his working career at PwC, joining in 2001 and rising to become the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. Oyedele is also a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School. |

Abi? If you're going to invest in insurance, a structurally fragmented industry where it's hard to see a durable source of competitive advantage, invest in the current cream of the crop. lavylilly: |

Loco Insurance Radar (LIR) – Market Closed Edition Thursday, March 5, 2026 NGX Insurance Index: ~1,37x region The insurance sector remains inside the 1,350 – 1,380 pre-breakout corridor, continuing to build pressure below the major 1,400 breakout level. Despite mixed market breadth today, trading activity across several insurance stocks shows that sector participation remains healthy and accumulation is still ongoing. The sector structure continues to suggest institutional positioning ahead of a possible breakout phase. -------------------------------------------------- INSURANCE SECTOR ACTIVITY Total Sector Volume: ~121 million shares Total Sector Value: ~₦476 million Trading activity remains moderate but healthy, typical of a sector building energy for a structural move. -------------------------------------------------- NGX INSURANCE STOCKS ACTIVITIES (March 5) AIICO Insurance – 4.25 (-3.41%) | Volume: 9.74M Consolidated Hallmark – 4.96 (-1.00%) | Volume: 4.73M Cornerstone Insurance – 6.00 (0.00%) | Volume: 164K Custodian Investment – 76.80 (+9.71%) | Volume: 1.69M FTGINSURE – 1.36 (+9.68%) | Volume: 6.99M Guinea Insurance – 1.36 (-0.73%) | Volume: 1.27M International Energy Insurance – 3.22 (+6.98%) | Volume: 1.34M LASACO Assurance – 2.44 (-0.41%) | Volume: 3.48M Linkage Assurance – 1.80 (0.00%) | Volume: 14.39M AXA Mansard – 16.50 (-2.88%) | Volume: 1.39M Mutual Benefits – 5.22 (+2.35%) | Volume: 10.53M NEM Insurance – 32.60 (-4.12%) | Volume: 388K Prestige Assurance – 1.60 (0.00%) | Volume: 5.31M Regal Insurance – 1.20 (-2.44%) | Volume: 1.81M Royal Exchange – 1.89 (-0.53%) | Volume: 7.82M Sovereign Trust – 2.67 (-1.11%) | Volume: 27.14M SUNU Assurance – 4.84 (0.00%) | Volume: 233K Universal Insurance – 1.37 (+1.48%) | Volume: 4.46M Veritas Kapital – 2.27 (-0.87%) | Volume: 17.89M -------------------------------------------------- TOP 3 INSURANCE GAINERS 1. Custodian Investment +9.71% 2. FTGINSURE +9.68% 3. International Energy Insurance +6.98% -------------------------------------------------- TOP 3 INSURANCE LOSERS 1. NEM Insurance -4.12% 2. AIICO Insurance -3.41% 3. AXA Mansard -2.88% -------------------------------------------------- SECTOR BREADTH Gainers: 5 Losers: 8 Unchanged: 6 Breadth turned slightly negative, but participation across several insurance stocks remains strong. -------------------------------------------------- CAPITAL ROTATION WATCH Heavy activity observed in: Sovereign Trust – 27M shares Veritas Kapital – 17M shares Linkage Assurance – 14M shares Mutual Benefits – 10M shares AIICO Insurance – 9M shares This pattern typically appears during accumulation phases before broader sector rallies. -------------------------------------------------- STRUCTURE LEVELS (LOCO FRAMEWORK) Major Support: 1,300 Accumulation Zone: 1,300 – 1,350 Current Zone: 1,350 – 1,380 Breakout Trigger Level: 1,400 The sector remains structurally bullish as long as the index stays above 1,300. -------------------------------------------------- LOCO FRAMEWORK CHECKLIST ✔ Index holding above 1,300 structural support ✔ Sector trading inside 1,350 – 1,380 accumulation corridor ✔ Healthy participation across multiple insurance stocks ⚠ Tier-1 leadership mixed today ⚠ Breadth slightly negative ⏳ Awaiting confirmed breakout above 1,400 -------------------------------------------------- STOCKS SHOWING STRONG ACTIVITY Custodian Investment Sovereign Trust Veritas Kapital Mutual Benefits FTGINSURE Linkage Assurance These stocks currently show the strongest activity inside the insurance sector. -------------------------------------------------- LOCO’S TACTICAL CONCLUSION The insurance sector continues to quietly build pressure below the 1,400 breakout level. Although breadth was mixed today, volume activity across multiple insurance stocks indicates that accumulation remains ongoing. A confirmed breakout above 1,400 with strong sector participation could trigger a broader insurance rally. Bullish Thesis Invalidation Level: If the NGX Insurance Index falls below 1,300, the bullish structure becomes invalid. |

It’s a possibility, but even in that case, I believe the stockbroker KYC verification and the registrar record should still provide basic leads to reveal the identity of the owner(s). The broker KYC process would’ve requested the directors’ details and identification documents. essentialone: |

About STACO Insurance Plc Many people have recently started asking about STACO Insurance Plc, but traders should understand the real situation of the company before expecting any market activity. STACO has not posted financial results to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) for about 5–6 years in the past, which created serious regulatory and transparency concerns. Recently, the company has started submitting some financial results again, but it still owes the market about two or three years of outstanding financial statements. Until all outstanding financial results are released and fully updated, the stock will not attract normal trading activity on the exchange. This is one of the major reasons the stock has very low liquidity and limited investor participation. Some traders are discussing STACO again because of what is currently happening with Fortis Global Insurance Plc, where restructuring activities have started attracting attention in the insurance sector. However, for STACO to attract real market interest, the company will likely need to: • Clear all outstanding financial statements • Restructure its operations and capital structure • Regain full regulatory compliance • Restore investor confidence Only after these issues are resolved will traders likely see active trading return to the stock. For now, most market activity in the insurance sector remains concentrated in stocks like Custodian, NEM Insurance, AXA Mansard, Mutual Benefits, Sovereign Trust, Veritas Kapital and Royal Exchange where liquidity and participation are stronger. |
