IPMAN Urges Federal Government to Slash Crude Oil Costs for Dangote Refinery Amid Soaring Petrol Prices The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Garima, has appealed to the Federal Government to lower the cost of crude oil supplied to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in a bid to curb the escalating prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, which have now surpassed ₦1,000 per litre in several states.source

Should this even be suggested to them before they think in this direction? So if the war in Iran continues forever, the masses here will continue to bear the brunt? I have suggested earlier that part of the earnings realised from the high sales now should be used for a temporal subsidy but this position of IPMAN is superior. |

The Federal government is not serious or concerned about the welfare of Nigerians. Why were they being told what to do to cushion the effect of the Israeli war of aggression against Iran on Nigeria? Why must we suffer or be affected by rising crude oil prices when we are producer? God will intervene to give us responsible leaders in Nigeria. |

LibertyRep:This is where governance and the workings of a democracy viz the ability of the people to control those they elected into power comes into play. Are they listening to you. Will they consider your appeals. Can you bring pressure to bear on those you employ to work for you. Let us see democracy in action. But my guess is that with more power centres in governors and legislators falling over the themselves to kow-tow to the presidency the likelihood of citizen advocacy gaining any recognition and impact is remote at best. |

That's subsidy through the back door. Another route for monumental corruption. Government should not get involved. The war will not last for long. Soon petrol prices will be back to normal. |

Will Bola Ahmed Tinubu heed this advice? They have already absolved themselves of any blame and placed it squarely on the U.S.–Israel–Iran war. Since day one, he has been telling Nigerians to bear the pains, saying it’s “necessary pain,” as though inflicting untold hardship and suffering is one of the cardinal points of the Renewed Hope agenda |

I wonder why dangote even buys crude oil from the US. When his country is among the top 10 largest oil producer in the world. Nigeria is just a crime scene |
| Re: IPMAN Urges Federal Government To Slash Crude Oil Costs For Dangote Refinery by Dogalmighty17: 7:18am On Mar 10 |
Most of Nigeria's crude is being used to offset the loans Buhari collected to achieve nothing. The NNPC doesn't have sufficient crude to give Dangote. Nigeria can barely even meet its OPEC quota. |

Very wicked Sets of leaders. We produced crude oil and we have refinery in this country. Why increase d fuel price if not wickedness, our leaders don't have d welfare of d citizens at heart. Using iran/usa/isreal war as excuse. We are producers of crude oil and we have refinery. |

No need to beg Dangote! He's a business man! Can you go to Idumota/Aba and beg business men to slash their prices? There's a benchmark price set for crude oil in the budget! And there's also an international benchmark price for crude at any point in time! Even if crude oil prices crashes in the international market, it may take a while for it to reflect in Nigeria as many people will claim to have stocks they bought at that high price. So we're in for a long thing! |

I don't subscribe to selling to dangote at a reduced price so as to sell to Nigerian at a cheaper price. You can't outsmart businessmen in the game of maximizing profit. Instead Government should better have a way of returning those price gains to the public through provision of more efficient sustainable public transportation system like BRT buses and the likes for each local government area of Nigeria. |

So, that you guys will get PMS at a price far lower than what our neighbouring countries are getting...and then you smuggle these PMS out of Nigeria to neighbouring countries at huge prices. Same tricks una dey use during the era of fuel subsidy ![]() We can only agree...if there is 100% assurance these fuels won't be smuggled out of Nigeria, big crude is given at reduced price |

helinues:The thing is something else, yesterday I told my colleague that he should be happy that petrol is selling for over 1100 naira, they have been the one fueling this war with their mouth, the fact that the young man actually studied political science in the university is even more appalling, now look at the situation we have found ourselves now, petrol is selling above when subsidy was initially removed and yet people that have no business in the conflict between two foolish countries are cheering them on. |

I stand against anything subsidy. It will move from temporal measure to an unstoppable policy. Tinubu should please not listen to this advice. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop anytime soon. Let us all endure in the meantime and put pressure through social media on Donald Trump to stop the senseless war in Iran. |

Some people will come here and blame Dangote for causing the Israel/US war on Iran, so that petrol prices can increase in Nigeria, instead of looking for a homegrown solution. The beneficiary of this is BAT and his government |

You can imagine ! So they are begging them to lower the cost? So what's the advantages of cutting a refinery in his home country that is oil producing Define comparative advantages? We have a long way to go in this country |

Honestly, this new IPMAN President is a good man. I have listened to him talking in few occasions and he's always proactive and thinks of workable solutions to every challenges between the government, Dangote refinery, the oil marketers and the public. When last did you hear any negative news about IPMAN in the recent past? unlike the previous years. |
