The Village People Effect in the NGX
This occurs when a “monkey hunter” deploys all his firepower to accumulate a stock with weak or questionable fundamentals. After building his position, he launches an aggressive campaign on investment forums, trying to convince inexperienced members to buy the stock.
The strategy is simple: create hype, attract the newbies, and use their buying pressure as an exit opportunity to dump his shares.
However, the Village People Effect sets in weeks or months later. The same stock that was pumped and dumped suddenly begins to appreciate organically due to improving sentiment or fundamentals.
Ironically, the monkey hunter who engineered the early hype is now left watching from the sidelines — regretting that he exited far too early.

Audacius:
Please, how long does it typically take to get CSCS registration done by stockbrokers. ARM has been on CSCS registration for someone I introduced to them for so long. To even open account and get kyc done was a hurdle. Been on the whole process for over 3 months. Is it that opening new accounts is made more difficult by regulatory requirements or this particular stockbroker has had enough clients and can't take more. Mails yield nothing beyond how deeply sorry they are.
Thanks to all for the replies. Mail was sent to their complaint email yet no show. They only always regret their service quality in their responses. Another broker will be the way now that I am sure it's not happening to everyone.

I agree with the first 2, but OANDO is too risky a play for me. might be good for JIJO though.

As earlier revealed, these remain rare jewels:
- Access
- Uba
- Oando
Enough said!

Don't you know that people adjust to poverty?
People who were eating 3 times per day now reduce to two times, and two meals per day now reduce to 1 meal.

Food is very very important but poverty is not only about food.
I have been eating twice daily for 40 years.

So long as jagaban is 2027 president, and I don't see anything that can stop that except God. OANDO will print money, it's just a matter of time.

Well, I'm buying and looking for money aggressively to buy more..

My entry price is till less than 250 even though with averaging up...

Are following the price of cpo currently at all.
This is only possible if you had accumulated hundred of thousand of shares when it was trading N200 and below and you topping up has remained less that 1000 - 2000 unit. Otherwise, your claim is questionable

Access is super good at current price and will deliver. Reminds me of GTB at N18.
All it requires is to pay dividend of about N3.

Oando has been printing money, Jagaban or no Jagaban. Can't you see the Company's revenue and expenses from their FS. Only it's not for the ordinary Shareholders.

You are right about access, I still don't know why it's not selling at 40 by now. It's my biggest holding in banking sector, it should just not disappoint. The dividend will be a big indicator and I am not expecting less than 2naira

Their heavy debt remains a concern.

Financial Performance (FY 2025)
Despite the operational growth, the financial results for the year ending December 31, 2025, were volatile:

Revenue: ~₦3.21 trillion (a 21% decrease from 2024), primarily due to lower trading volumes in their supply and trading segment as they shifted focus to upstream margins.
Profitability: Profit after tax (PAT) grew by 10% to ₦241.3 billion, largely supported by one-off tax credits and impairment reversals rather than just core operations.

EPS: Reported at approximately ₦30 for 2025 (up 67% from the previous year).
Leverage: The balance sheet remains heavily leveraged with total liabilities of ₦7.26 trillion.

Why? but they didn't pay any interim. It will be unfortunate If they pay less than 2naira.

The dividend is probably coming from ''Company'' rather than 'Holding Co' or 'Group'
