Hi Great Thread of Nigerian Football, it is indeed a good day to be alive and be excited for what 2026 still promises.

Today is My Birthday and I want to remind everyone out there not to give up on whatever their dreams, aims, aspirations, project pursuits, goals, etc are.
Victor Osimhen did not and look at him today and his story is still not done. John Mikel Obi did not and now he is a bonafide Nigerian legend. Rashidi "Rasheed" Yekini did not and he remains the one of the pinnacles among African Strikers today.

Lastly, on a flip note, Elyte89 is still not giving up on his Super Eagles job dream despite we all knowing how impossible it is and he is also not giving up on Nigeria heading to USCAMEX 2026 World Cup, so honestly what excuse you get? grin

Cheers to me and Cheers to us all.... God Bless You.
Happy birthday bro
I wish you the best

Elyte89, what if FIFA already communicated the outcome of the petition to the NFF and those clowns knowing the backlash they will receive from Nigerians just decide to keep mute.

https://bsnsports.com.ng/post/World-Cup-Hope-Not-Over-Yet-As-NFF-Confronts-FIFA-Decision-Over-DR-Congo-Playoff-Qualification#google_vignette

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is preparing a formal response to a communication from FIFA regarding its petition against the Democratic Republic of Congo national football team over alleged player eligibility violations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The dispute stems from Nigeria’s elimination after a 4–3 penalty shootout defeat—following a 1–1 draw in regulation time—to DR Congo. The NFF subsequently raised concerns that some players fielded by the Congolese side may not have met eligibility requirements, citing issues related to dual citizenship and national team representation rules.

Despite the petition, FIFA has yet to announce a final ruling on the matter. Meanwhile, the governing body has proceeded with tournament arrangements, including preparations involving DR Congo. In a recent media engagement, DR Congo head coach Sébastien Desabre discussed his team’s readiness for the upcoming FIFA intercontinental playoff scheduled to take place in Mexico.

Reacting to the situation, NFF Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi confirmed to BSN Sports that FIFA has formally contacted the federation regarding the petition. He noted that the NFF is currently reviewing the correspondence and working on an official reply.

"FIFA has written a letter to the NFF on which we are working on the response to FIFA." Sanusi told BSN Sports in an exclusive interview.

However, Sanusi declined to disclose specific details of FIFA’s letter during his remarks.

The development leaves the case unresolved, with Nigeria’s prospects of participation in the intercontinental playoff still uncertain pending FIFA’s final decision

I was so excited for this news. Gabriel Sara deserves his call 100%. When I still see names like Fabinho on the Brazil list, then it would be sacrilegious to omit an inform Sara.
It's such a great story. Gabriel Sara returning to England as a Brazilian international. Hopefully this gives him some added confidence going into the 2nd leg.
