Most universities in the UK have started adjusting their tuition deposit payments. If you had paid earlier but it was increased before issuing CAS numbers, you have no option but to pay the full amount. That is so pathetic to me and I feel sorry for the new policy of the university. I was about to make the payment yesterday morning when I noticed the change in the tuition deposit especially at Hull University. |

AKAyomide:I still don’t understand what the issue is here, if you can not afford the deposit how will be able to afford the tuition fee? Universities have to do this because of our track record and to avoid what happened last summer. Universities have to chase students to pay up remaining tuition fees and many Nigerians went to social media and television channels to drag universities because of this. |

justwise:That’s so crazy if the school had this bad experience about mostly Nigerian students. Most applicants dream to pay off their tuition balance once in UK |

Between Ipswich and Hatfield, which is better for a student when considering job opportunities and cost of living? The two schools are University of Hertfordshire (£19,500), and University of Suffolk (£16,500). |

AKAyomide:I think universities in the UK are being forced to take a stand, how would a student get a visa with complete amount then get to the UK and default on tuition free payment? Obviously that money never existed and schools have the right to demand for full payment or increase the deposit. They are not running charity organisations, it’s business. Planning to work and pay remaining tuition fees is just madness because you are not sure of getting that job sooner. |

justwise:Oga dey calm down . We all know how this thing work, u think it’s easy to cough out 40-50m naira instantly just like that. You are here defending the oyinbo system that are in support of financing as method of payment for good and services. Even their citizen can’t afford the tuition that’s why they created payment plan for them . A business or economy without credit or financing procedure would crumble . You think they don’t know the best way to meet up with tuition fee for majority of international students is to work while schooling ? They know all of these that’s why they even granted u d grace to come with dependent that would work without limit just so u can pay ur tuition balance . They even give u the opportunity to apply for credit card. At d end of the day it’s a win win scenario bcus the percentage of students that didn’t mess up that grace are higher than those that messed it up. Their economy and education industry keep booming , whereas u as a migrant gets a japa pathway There is no crime if one wants to travel via study route, work legally as d system permits and pay tuition balance. Stop discouraging us with your mean words please . No be everybody wey dey here be billionaire pikin. Probably u sef japa via same method but u are here condemning others and saying their idea is “m@dness”. |

In my own opinion. Honestly I don't think he is discouraging people. I have personally assisted many people especially from here for thier visa (I NEVER DEMAND MONEY FROM ANYBODY and I WILL NOT). I still have have some of messages in my email. I have been busy hence very quiet recently. When talking about credit issues, I don't think Africa can compete with the western country. However when it is abused, it is not taken lightly. Sadly, most people, including our country people don't know how it works. Oyinbo doesn't do something based on emotions, they act based on evidence and data! The university are not being wicked, they are being faced with compliance issues and am sure they don't want to lose their sponsor license. Many UK sponsors especially skilled worker have got Thier sponsor license revoked. And it appears the next target are these universities. Agreement is agreement, that's how credit works. That's why they try to do these affordability checks before CAS. Am sure you are aware that some nationalties have been suspended from applying for UK study visa (Cameroon, Afghanistan, Sudan, etc). I don't pray for that to happen to Naija. All these is because of abuse. Unfortunately, when these happen, it doesn't only affects, some few people, every citizen of the country are affected. Some universities are also trying to do some internal measures but telling national of certain countries to pay more deposit Oga dey calm down . We all know how this thing work, u think it’s easy to cough out 40-50m naira instantly just like that. You are here defending the oyinbo system that are in support of financing as method of payment for good and services. lexybaba1234:From 524 to 558 .. yeah that’s still fair . If schools decided to increase their CAS deposit with same percentage that would not be a problem |

jaydave:I'm used to gibberish from ignorant individuals like you, i have been here long enough to know that you have zero knowledge of what you are talking about. UKIV did not allow the main applicant to come with dependant so as to work and pay fees, allowing you to apply for credit card means jack. This level of ignorant is exactly why immigration rules keep changing for worse every year and genuine prospective students suffer. |

justwise:Lol he obviously doesn’t have good knowledge about what he’s saying. Yes their citizen can’t really afford such schools but it’s accessible to them one way or the other. Who wan give you credit card to pay school fees lol 😂 When the student said they would come, they obviously showed proof they had all the required funding so most of his talk doesn’t hold water |

jaydave:The more you type nonsense like this the more you prove me right, I don’t want other immigrants to be successful? Who started this thread and many others and run them for more than 15yrs now? Do you have an idea how many Nigerians and non Nigerian I have helped moved to the UK and other countries since I joined this section? I never collected a single penny or even accepted an offer to meet them for a coffee when they arrived. You have no money to study in the UK neither do you have the brain to get scholarships, all you wanted is to cheat your way to the UK hence your outburst. |

ddre330:Honestly some Nigerians got no ability to be sensible, I’m trying to help him see the calamity that awaits him if he comes to the UK unprepared financially and he is here chatting dust . |

AKAyomide:It's can be sometimes difficult for a student to pay up the school tuition balance oo, most employers here don't want to employ someone on a student visa due to the 20hrs/week restriction Unless it's an MRes program that your dependant works full time, you may struggle and really not meet up with school tuition balance o It's wise if you can afford to pay a good percentage of your tuition as deposit before leaving Nigeria o That's my advice |
