One thing I like about this Otele guy, amongst his other qualities, is his decision making.. Dude knows when to dribble, when to pass and when to shoot.. He's even prolific for a winger.. Chukwueze will need to watch his back.. If Otele brings his A game, na another selection headache be that..

I am glad Emmanuel Fernandez is finally home. Good CB addition. Time to show us what he's got in the GWG. His callup was easy. No switch needed. Just give him a passport and viola. It is the likes of Meghoma, Kayode, Nwaneri, Marcandalli, and co that will require switch of allegiance. |

TWIST OF EVENTS 🔄 | “Give Us Back Our 1976 AFCON Trophy 🏆; Guinea 🇬🇳 tell CAF!” 😬 Guinea🇬🇳 Football Federation have revisited history, demanding that the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations title be awarded to Guinea following recent controversies surrounding AFCON rulings. The Guinean FA argues that circumstances similar to the recent decision involving Senegal should apply retroactively to their case against Morocco national football team in 1976. ♻️ What happened in 1976 ⤵️ During the final stage of the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 🇲🇦 faced Guinea 🇬🇳 in a decisive match. The tournament format did not include a traditional final, but rather a round-robin group between four teams: Morocco 🇲🇦 , Guinea 🇬🇳 , Nigeria 🇳🇬 , and Egypt 🇪🇬 . Morocco entered the final match needing only a draw, while Guinea needed a win to secure the title. Guinea took the lead in the 33rd minute through Chérif Souleymane. At one point during the match, Moroccan players temporarily walked off the pitch in protest of a refereeing decision. However, they later returned and resumed play. In the 86th minute, Ahmed Makrouh scored a crucial equaliser, ending the match 1-1. 🏆 Final outcome Morocco finished top of the group with 5 points Guinea fell short, needing a win but settling for second place Morocco were crowned AFCON champions for the first time. ⚖️ Guinea’s 🇬🇳 argument now The Guinean FA insists that: If recent CAF rulings can retroactively punish match incidents, Then the 1976 case where" Morocco left the pitch during play" should also be reviewed 🙅🏻♂️ They believe that, under such a precedent, Guinea🇬🇳 should be awarded the title. ☑️ |

minfelix:Someone mentioned this after the final match of the group stage that EPL teams always does well during the group stage but are found wanting in subsequent stages, I can't remember the reason he gave but I think the person made sense then. |

Sebi I said it here that Morocco also got that 1976 title via mago mago. Aside this, they also did not schedule the games fairly. It was done in a manner that favored the Moroccans mainly. Shameless. Nomyth: |

He is better than Fernandez. Bia Charles you don come. Wetin Fernandez don do for Super Eagles? Frederick benched Captain Ekong. Frederick walked into that backline in high stakes games and emerged unscathed. Biko allow Fernandez land for camp first naa before you begin push agenda. You forget Frederick is way younger sef. 20 vs 24. Papi85: |

Chelle should have invited more of the fringe players for this mini tournament with a few mainstay players...that defence needed a Nwaiwu and Fernandez partnership to build more depth and not Bassey and Ajayi who are already established. The midfield doesn't need all the established guys, players like Nnadi, the kid at Slavia Prague (forgot his name) and one or two more new faces should have been invited. Attack looks fine especially with Yira and Otele, but calling up Simon Moses and maybe Onuachu was unnecessary cause we've seen enough of these guys and there's nothing new or spectacular they offer at this point. Otherwise it's a decent list.. |
