So you do not believe that there was money laundering involved? grin
Why do you believe there was?

Drill fire! Me that is thinking of realizing my loss and running. I just don’t wanna look like an impatient investors who couldn’t hold for even a week.
Take it as a learning curve into improving your due diligence, your investment preference, strategy and personality trait.

Extent of Due Dilligence so far will determine e.g:

If I buy this stock and it dips by 5-10%, would I panic?

Would I see it as opportunity and be willing to add more?-BUY

Would I chest it and stay put positively?--HODL

What's my drop limit range
(stop loss)? both in face value and percentage where below which I will activate sell option---SELL.

If you are familiar with the position of the two banks then, what Access was owing Intercontinental had nothing to do with the normal short term inter- bank settlement or indebtedness. Akingbola bailed out Access at a point when their position was precarious.
You may wish to argue further perhaps just like I said, if you are not deeply familiar with the case then.

As a caveat, my position is not to pass judge me on any body.
My comments are general, and not meant to contest or disprove your opinion.
Access Bank management might have betrayed Akingbola, which is bad!

But the bottom line and fundamental question(s) is/are:
Which person or entity broke the Banking law and regulations in a way that compromised or endangered depositors funds and financial health of his bank?
Access Bank might have committed some infractions but not all infractions have the same consequences or penalties
Access might have been struggling when Intercontinental was doing much better and helping them.
But the entity that broke the law and jeopardized depositors funds and financial health of the bank is the one whose license would be revoked. It was just bad that the people that Akingbola helped turned around to betray him (if the story is true). This however does not absolve Akingbola of the wrongs and offences that CB accused him of.
Betrayal by friends or partners in business is painful and bad, but there is no law against it. Same way Otedola said Tony Elumelu betrayed him.

We are talking about the founder of one of the largest banks in Africa and you are mentioning a public servant.

You no see where the problem start to begin?
You are tactically avoiding my question. grin

Don't get me wrong, I am not accusing anyone here. We are just having a discussion. At the same time, it is not appropriate for you to vouch for anyone.

Will you like to talk about the role of bank CEOs in money laundering, writing off non performing loans for their cronies etc....? Remember, all these come with financial rewards. grin

That's why it is very difficult to prosecute one for financial crimes in Nigeria. A lot of abnormalities are considered normal by majority.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:58pm On Mar 30
To an average Nigerian, every rich man is a thief. I just want most of you here to know that YOU ARE THEIVES to those looking at you.

I am not saying that the one you call a thief without evidence is not a thief o. I am just saying that you are a thief too. You go explain tire without evidence.

Those that were accused what was done to them huh

Even EFCC could not bring down Yahaya Bello with all the evidence. grin

There is a level you will reach in this country, no one can accuse you except you fall out with the cartel.

Ike Ekweremadu was prosecuted in the UK and currently serving jail term. Bring it to Nigerian context, the man will be innocent. lipsrsealed

My dear, there is need for a prove. The same man that was simply acquiring moribund banks both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria for Access bank and still continue to grow profits for the bank year in year out. Why can't he do something similar for himself.

WAPCO qualification date for dividends is coming Friday, which is a holiday. What should normally happen, a shift of the date to Tuesday or back to the earlier date on Thursday?
QD remains the date already announced....
Except the company just decides to announce and fix another date.

Oga pls stop making excuses for the grand scale corporate greed of Wigwe and Ogbonna. We also found out last year that Roosevelt Ogbonna (the current CEO) bought a £15 million property on London billionaires Row. I believe Access bank shareholders are the rightful owners of all those London properties

The regulator in conjunction with the EFCC should pressurise the UK government to apply for an Unexplained Wealth Order (UWO) to recover those properties asap
ACCESSCORP has paid annual dividends for the last 20 years; so ACCESSCORP is not FirstHoldCo with recent poor dividend history.

Like I wrote in one of my posts, management of companies make good money by inflating cost of doing business just like politicians inflate the cost of contracts or projects.

Why are you so concerned about ACCESSCORP that will pay dividend for 2025 financial year? cheesy

You should be concerned about Last Bank (First Bank) that won't pay dividend, but the stock price has been pump from ₦30 to ₦52.

You are comparing a politician with a business man.
It is possible for wigwe to have acquired all those properties legally as a banker.

So every rich man in Nigeria is a thief
In US Dollars,Jim Ovia earned more than 20 million as dividends for 2024 financial year from Zenith Bank; and this money can buy 20 properties in London.
