ETF has gained attention lately. Just know it's more of pump and dump for now. See that charts. And liquidity issues as well. aj8:

Sorry to diverge from the topic of this thread. Has anyone here ever successfully added a GTBank Debit Mastercard to Apple Pay or Apple Wallet? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by aj8(m): 10:06pm On Apr 03 |
Care4:Yes, you are quite right. Liquidity-induced craziness (volatility) is the “game”. Requires patience, familiarity, and knowledge. No one that understands ETFs in the Nigerian market will touch Stanbic IBTC ETF 30, NewGold ETF, and quite a few others at their current prices. The trick is to be guided by their NAV with respect to what the ETF tracks and also their historicals. Many get burnt not knowing this. Buy close to their NAV. Never buy an ETF without first checking its latest NAV. Prices will always be at their highest in January /February and rotate back towards their NAV. Also note the dates the funds are rebalanced (sometimes twice a year) by the fund managers. Very important. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmasoft(m): 12:25am On Apr 04 |
Akanmbi:@Akanmbi, note that before you subscribe to cscs online to view your holdings in real time, you will need to first open a cscs account with a stockbroking firm, with that, you will have a cscs account and a CHN with which to login to the the cscs online portal. The online portal is charged per CHN, You can have more than one cscs number and you will still be able to see all your holdings from the different cscs if they all have the same CHN. If you are yet to open a cscs account, click the third link in my signature to open a stock/cscs account with investment one stockbrokers. |

emmasoft:Many thanks for the prompt response. I own a stockbroking account (Anchoria) with a CSCS account. The point I was trying to make was that I have made the statutory N5,300 sub fee to cscs but cannot seem to access my account. Is there a timeline ? Or perhaps is there any activation required from my stockbroker? Thanks |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmasoft(m): 2:07am On Apr 04 |
Akanmbi:Yes, the activation will require you to contact your stockbroker after you have registered with your CHN on the CSCS portal. The activation normally happens within 24 hours. |

Valthegreat:There are investors and there are traders. Everyone does what fits his/her temperament. What I have heard though is that it is investors that make money in the long run. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jonnysessy(m): 4:44am On Apr 04 |
emmasoft:If this activation is still tied to your Stockbroker it makes no sense then. After all, one had supplied all the necessary data like CSCS no and CHN to CSCS. It is only in Nigeria that to access little things takes you through bureaucratic bottleneck ( filling all manner of forms etc). I was initially thinking of subscribing to the CSCS portal. But, anytime I want to know my holdings I simply write my Stockbroker to provide it for me. They owe me that as a duty ( with minimal charges). |

jonnysessy:You don't need to contact your broker. On next working day, CSCS will validate your data and activate your account. You don't need to send them any email except it lingers beyond 2 working days after you made payment. |

Care4:I just finished a T.A on this and realized, Only the price is too expensive at this time for it, however, volume is moderate (NOT HIGH) but seller will exercise a little bit of patience before position sells off. |

EDUECO:If AccessCorp is truly the "gold standard," shouldn't we see that dominance reflected in the numbers and market sentiment much sooner than 15 years from now? What specifically do you think will happen in the next decade that finally settles the debate, do you have a crystall ball? Are you looking at their expansion into the payments space (Hydrogen) or their international footprint as the "X factor" that leaves the others behind? just curious! |

Personal? That is lawyers language. Not at all. I am simply a rational investor. There is nothing personal about my opinion. I have the right to appraise and critique any publicly listed company that interests me. I have no direct or indirect relationship with Mr. Mordi. Investors should speak out so that companies that appear active but are not truly progressing can buckle up and improve their performance. SonofElElyonRet: |

First Bank should be kind enough to pay good dividend this period. We have been patient with them over the years. |

Dupeodus:ewnation encourages a hybrid approach where a portion of your portfolio is long term (investor) and a portion is mid term (trader) , reason is simple, while investors wait years for a payoff, traders take control of their financial destiny in real-time. The idea that only investors make money is a common myth—traders are the ones who capture the market's immediate opportunities and generate consistent cash flow. Traders don’t "ride the ship down" during a market crash, we have met our targets and often partial (exit some or most of our positon) . While investors watch their portfolios shrink by 30% or more.. An investor might wait a year for an 20–80% return. A skilled trader aims to hit those same percentages in months or less. By reinvesting those frequent gains, the math of compounding works exponentially faster for a trader than for a "buy and hold" spectator. Investing is a retirement game; trading is for life right now. Trading provides a liquid income stream that can reinvest or materialise, rather than locking capital away in a "vault" for twenty years.
