This should have been done like 15 years ago

Thats why i pity those people buying coys without any foundamentals....in the next few months a few stocks i know will fall to 50kobo and would be delisted from there

I am aware of the plans by NGX to delist a lot of useless stocks in the coming months....Just watch this space

They can't delist any stock just like that.
In as much as they met and are meeting regulatory Requirements, they can't be delisted.

Sledge hammer of NGX is meant for those moribund stocks that haven't been meeting up with Regulatory Requirements for years...
Before delisting, warnings/sanctions must have been issued out to them on some occasions first.

Where is that guy who had Dangote Sugar when it was ₦80? He had about ₦70–₦80 million worth of Dangote Sugar. I hope you sold, because I remember commenting after you that it would fall below ₦60. That’s a lot of money lost, that kind of money can do one or two things.
I am still holding and looking to load more if it falls into a fair price range or i take up my rights issue if the price is right. I believe in the future prospects of Dangote Sugar. I won't repeat the mistake i made with NASCON that I bought at N29 and sold too early, happy i made a decent profit. Nascon today is N150............

We hold till the merger into Dangote Food vision comes to reality. The Dangote Group cannot achieve their $100Bn vision without DangSugar, DangCement, NASCON and others within the group.

What could be happening in CHAMS? huh
This heavy offloaders and the offloading is becoming scary!!

Although the lower it goes, the better the bargain becomes.......but people have been buying since it was 4.50 or above!
Make the Whales pity people's funds abeg.....🙏

Only God knows how many billions of units these guys warehoused!

NGX won't see or investigate into this kind of scenario that has been going on for long now. sad
You just quoted my entry price in Chams. What is helping me is the RI that I bought, which helped to reduce my cost price. This averaging down will turn me to Landlord with the stock. undecided

Most likely paying N3.00 dividend.
If they can pay that much, expect a rally in the share price. I am actually thinking they will pay N2.00k, their outstanding number of shares is humongous when compared to GTCO, Zenith bank and UBA.

At last most banks will likely do share reconstruction. This will be the pay back time for all the bonus enjoyed in the past in the banking sector. cool
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 4:59pm On Apr 09
Finally, after 7 dry years, Chams Plc is set to pay dividend in 2026...
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 5:00pm On Apr 09
And this 3 Kobo is exactly the same as last dividend paid by Chams Plc 7 years ago..

Refer back to Loko's information about whales' activities and how they manipulate stock prices to their gain. In addition, I believe the general downtrend is also helping the stock price go lower than expected.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 5:00pm On Apr 09
That's a dividend of 0.98% from Chams Plc...

It is small, but it is good they have resumed paying dividend after 7 whole years.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 5:01pm On Apr 09
Take note: Transcorp Plc QD has been changed from 1st May to 27th April...
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 5:01pm On Apr 09
The way Regency Alliance Insurance Plc was on Full Bid today, are they also getting set to pay Dividend after a long dry 7 years?

If you want to pick 🍒 ( fundamental sound stocks). Just watch out for when the qualification dates has passed. Dividend investors will leave the stocks in droves to go and position in another which the qualification date has not reached, thereby leaving a promising stock battered, blue and black. You that is there for the long term will have opportunities picking such stocks at a bargain price.

Also, stocks that fail to live up to expectations in their dividend announced also suffer such fate. It doesn't mean the stock suddenly becomes bad but in our clime we love dividend. The stock maybe a growth stock that want to plough in back earnings. Just watch out and hold some cash. Opportunities are abound in every season in the stock market. Once, the dividend frenzy end everything will stabilize.

Lesson learnt: Alway have some emergency funds set aside, you will always see opportunities. Cash is King.

This your 1st paragraph is correct.
I observed same in CWG and UCAP btw Tuesday to today (Thursday)

We are eagerly awaiting the results of FUA, GZ had set the pace and they did fantastically well and it has continued to reflect on their share prices. I had thought the market had already priced the dividend with the current price. Yet, they continue to prove my postulations wrong. Firstholdco, UBA and Accesscorp should not slack so that their prices get some upside. But, if the dividend falls below expectations, they would surely be punished with downside prices.

cool

Actually, the big banks need both. Bonus issue and shares reconstruction. They have trillions sitting on their retained earnings account that they should capitalize and also have humongous number of shares.

GT Guidance for FY26 attached
FY25
EPS N25.43. DPS 12.76. Planned to pay-out 60% of distributable income. So we assume distributable income was N21.27(84% of EPS)

For FY26
PBT of N1.4trn, using an ETR of 20-30% gives a range of
980bn-1.12trn. Translates to EPS range of N26.8-N30.6. Assuming 84% distributable is N22.4-N25.6

DPS expectation for FY26 using 60% payout of core earnings N13.4-N15.4.

Dividend still strong but might not see a huge jump like last two years. With this the share price should get to N150

I think you completely missed the point. I don’t know why you sold Nascon, it never showed signs of weakness. You probably sold based on price fluctuations, which is contrary to an investor’s discipline.

Now, Dangote Sugar had clear signs of worsening financials, which I pointed out. Selling at 80 and buying back at whatever price it settles at when value returns would put you in a better position.

Anyway, to each their own. Also, it was someone else who posted their portfolio asking whether they should sell (or was it you).
