Big congrats

Out of the 400 .xyz u registered in 21/22 how many are u still holding now?
Thanks.

I renewed about 85 of the 400+ at least once. I only retained the dozen that I renewed last year and dropped the remaining. Even, I think more than half of those renewed were registered from 2023.

SOLD

Name: Use//Ember [COM]
Price: $399
Sale Venue: Spaceship
Type: Outbound/Inbound
Source: ED
HT: ~10 months

I had this priced for $599 on Afternic, where it was parked ($554 on Spaceship). Comparable sales via Afternic made me price it lower than I intended. Reached out last year to a coffee company that forwarded the .co version to their website but no response.

The buyer came with a $250 offer and back-and-forth counters brought it to the final price, making sure I split the fee with them. It occurred to me to check the number of taken TLDs AFTER the buyer accepted my final counter-offer. I was surprised to find it had gone from 2 to 6! shocked

Later, two Afternic brokers reached out to me separately regarding enquiries because I had removed the BIN price there while the negotiation was ongoing on Spaceship. Found out offers were first made there about eight minutes before I got the Spaceship offer, but I was only informed about four and half hours later.

Name: oxy//gn [XYZ]
Price: $1,888
Sale Venue: Afternic
Type: Inbound
Source: ?
HT: ~4 years (4 renewals)

I can't remember whether I found this on ED or generated it. huh

I was so bullish about this domain that I priced it for $2,688 in the first year - the highest for any of the more than 400 XYZ domains I registered between 2021 and 2022.

By 2024, I reduced the price first to $1488 then $988. cheesy I increased it to $1,250 last year. It was after I decided to renew a dozen of the remaining XYZ domains till 2027 and release the rest than I increased the price to $1,888.

All thanks be to God! More sales for everyone of us.

I'd say the inspiration was probably gpexchange - who, by the way, was also a major inspiration for hiking some prices towards the end of last year. I had my first sales higher than $1,888 (one-time payment) after that hike.

One of gpexchange's sales reported here was Get///Calico (or something like that). I found out from my readings that companies sometimes turn to alternatives like that if they can't get the main keyword - Calico, in this case. Some companies who even have the main keyword may also want variations of it.

I also found out that "use" and "go" were among words that were sometimes used, apart from "get."

I'd have priced the domain much higher but for the low-value comparable sales in Afternic records and the fact that the .co was forwarded to a coffee business. Plus, the domain was registered the previous year and dropped.

Keep on buying even if you've not sold. Your next purchase can be your next sale. I picked up a domain 9 days ago. Set it up using Spaceship landers. Did a little outbounding/ awareness.

Domain got sold last night via afternic. Will reveal the domain and reason I registered it once transaction is finalized.

We're still discussing if they will accept push or not. Probably they want to confirm from the buyer.

Don't relent.

Thank you for this Bossman.

One must know how to think very far from the box if the person wants to succeed in this business.

What has been your average portfolio size over the years you started domaining?

I registered my first domain in 2014 but it was for a nickname that I have always used as my main email and handle on social media and most websites. I still have that name and renew it every 5 years. I just thought one day I might need it for a business. Funny enough there have been businesses that have sprung up with the same name or similar but I don't have it listed for sale. It's a name that ends with "king". That was how I got started dormaining, it was only to register things like my nick name and last name.

My current portfolio is only 24 names but that's because last year I got rid of most of them and decided domaining isn't for me. I used to have about 200 names. I didn't do any research or outbound. I just register names I like than last them for sale.

You are a star! Congratulations.

If you've been reading and studying domain business from that time, you'll definitely know what works by now.

Your investment is less than $100. You can now strategize. Don't overbuy. Get short domains like the one you just sold.

Hello guys good day!!!

I came across this thread couple of days ago and this would be my first time knowing something like this exist.

I have gone through some thread created in 2016. If I am to go through the thread from page one to 3k+ as at today, I don't know when I would likely finish it to get equipped.

My concern is, this thread was created in 2016 and I'm certain some approach or strategy must have changed. Going through recent thread I read where people use Claude AI.

Pls I would really appreciate if someone could point me to the right direction so I don't spend so much time learning old approach. Are the strategy still the same or things have changed? If there are changes where in the thread can I possibly start from in the thread as a newbie.

Pls response would be highly appreciated. Thank you guys

Thanks bro. I won't lie this sale has peaked my interest again. I will get back in the game and become a student of this craft!

I came across something recently, and I’m trying to understand it properly.

It’s called Loota — basically a live map treasure hunt game. Think of it like JojoFelani, but now, instead of on the street, it uses a map so that many people can be reached. It is all FREE

From what I’ve seen:

Everyone starts from their location
You move towards a target on the map
When you get there, you solve a question under time pressure
If you miss it, you’re pushed back and have to try again

What makes it interesting is that it’s not really luck-based. Speed helps, but you still have to think fast to win.

There’s a small hunt going on right now — ₦5k each for 5 winners. Nothing too big, just testing it out. It is all free.

I haven’t fully figured out the best strategy yet. Some people rush, some take their time.

If you want to check it out, this is the link:
https://playloota.com

I’m more curious about what people here think —
Does this feel like a game of skill or something else entirely?
