chimex38:You can imagine the Finance ministry being handed to such people with little or no experience in the management of the economy of a big nation like Nigeria, all to satisfy nepotistic interests |

mikeapollo:Chu SP Okongwu handled the economy of Japan before becoming the Finance Minister in Nigeria. Okonjo Iweala handled the economy of Malaysia before becoming the Finance Minister in Nigeria. You might be correct even though......... |

lionshare:You are right and there must be a truely concerted effort to discourage importation. I know a lot of people will raise an eyebrow but that is it. Those our brothers who are currently importing anything should try look at export too. I am sure after some initial hurdles, they will make headways and it will then be a win-win situation. Nigeria can not continue to be a dumping ground and we expect the currency to be strong. |

**NIGERIA STOCK REPORT 22 APRIL 2026 EXTRACT ** TARGET TECHNICAL ANALYSIS Yesterday the market lost some momentum. Equally our focus stocks did not behave according to expectation. Today we believe Whatever negative news led to the low monentum (change of Financial Minister?). The effect should be over today. **Market Outlook** ALL Share index to close between between +0.07% and +0.12%. LIKELY MARKET DIRECTION: SIDEWAYS TO BULLISH BIAS 1. MARKET RECAP & ANALYSIS (EOD Date: 21 April 2026 vs. Prior Trading Day). The NGX is expected to consolidate between 215,000 and 219,500 on the All-Share Index over the next one to two weeks, with selective upside in industrial, consumer goods, and growth stocks providing the primary opportunities

olaremint:It is for you to interpret and understand what you see happening in broad day light in your country, in your presence. Nepotism destroys a nation. It breeds incompetence, corruption, conflict of interests etc Buhari did it and we complained but nothing was done to address it, contributing to the failure of the govt. This govt too is doing a similar thing and a failure would spell doom for Yoruba people because nobody would listen when Yoruba start complaining about bad governance in this country. Well meaning Yoruba statesmen have already cautioned the president but it seems he does not listen Just a few names/positions: CBN governor, Yoruba NRS (former FIRS) chairman, Yoruba Minister for Finance, Yoruba Minister of State for Finance, Yoruba Minister for Interior, Yoruba Head of Nigeria Customs Service, Yoruba IGP, Yoruba Head of NNPC, Yoruba Chief Justice, Yoruba Chief of Army Staff, Yoruba Head, DSS, Yoruba Commandant, Nigeria Defence College, Yoruba Accountant General of Federation, Yoruba EFCC Chairman, Yoruba Head, NUPRC, Yoruba Head, AMCON, Yoruba Head, BPE, Yoruba Head, NPC, Yoruba Head, FAAN, Yoruba Head, NIMASA, Yoruba Head, NAICOM, Yoruba Head, NEPZA Head, NIMC, Yoruba Head, NAFDAC, Yoruba Head, National Pension Commission, Yoruba Head, Federal Fire Service, Yoruba Head, NOA, Yoruba etc etc etc. |

mikeapollo:A balanced post would have shown appointees from other tribes so that we can see clearly what you are saying instead of feeding us with an incomplete information. An incomplete information is misinformation and it is mischievous. Transparency is important. |

feelamong:Thanks for the advice. Well appreciated. I dont intend dragging the topic. But let's understand that political decisions can also make or mar the stock market, so the market is not totally insulated from politics. Some markets could have reacted negatively to news of the sack of the Finance minister, a person that helped to calm nerves and stabilized the market when the CGT issue was raging and the market went down, and he is now replaced with the person that caused the panicky sell-offs. Case closed! No more! |

First bank might not pay any dividends so what really is driving the price |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 11:34am On Apr 22 |
Princkez:FBNH can't pay N5... If you see N2 or N1 self be happy.... There's this one-off debt payment and cleaning of balance sheet, which was done in 2025 FYE result.... This will however position FBNH for greater height because the book is clean now.... If there's going to be any dividend, it will be paid from Reserve.... * This was discussed here when Unaudited was released. * Elephant trying to regain its lost glory I blvd. |

nedu666:From the look of things, it seems this kind of "Exceptional Bull 🐂 Period" comes once in a long year, maybe certain decade(s) or so, it's looking more like a Cycle.... Guess there's nothing anyone or any negative news can do about it. It's just my opinion o....because it's difficult to explain what's up...😊 I could remember a period where getting just +10% or 20% on a stock was a Herculean task, the stocks will just not move no matter the good news.... So I think it's just the period too...because how stocks are easily doing 100%, 200%, 500% is beyond explanations......It's not about dividends alone......IMO 😊 |
