And ACCESSCORP is around $US 1.2 Billion.

ACCESSCORP has great potential for price appreciation in the short run.

The same favor that Hitech is benefiting now was what Julius Berger benefited from in the 80s and 90s which makes you think they’re a civil engineering giant. Is it right? No, but What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!

I am not aware of a past presdent/govt that took away projects from a credible Julius Berger and handed over to Chagoury Brothers without tender, cross bidding, etc.
They will use generational wealth money for six roads and ten hospitals and give their cronies to build one expresswaywithout any bidding while their supporters will be asking you which one Obi did because stock market ran up and they made 100%. Meanwhile you will vomit the 100% gains on high inflation, high fuel price, kidnap ransom, high hospital bills etc.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megawealth01: 1:03pm On Apr 24
Intelligent response
mikeapollo:
And who says I am for Obi, or Atiku, or Kwakwanso, or Amaechi or Wike or Tinubu?
I don't assess people who are not yet in power as president. I give all of them (including Tinubu) the benefit of the doubt and wait until they become president, before I assess their performance in office!
I don't pre-judge anyone of them. A pupil/student must sit and perform in an exam before you score him ''zero'' or ''excellent''.
The failures of past presidents cannot excuse or justify the failures of the current president. Failure is failure!

I am not aware of a past presdent/govt that took away projects from a credible Julius Berger and handed over to Chagoury Brothers without tender, cross bidding, etc.

Julius Berger is the baby of German construction firm Bilfinger Berger AG with solid track record in major construction works, before they started winning contracts in Nigeria.
Can you tell us the track records of Hitech in construction works before Tinubu/Lagos started hobnobbing with them?

Can you tell us when Julius won a contract without a tender, no bidding, no senate approval,, no budgetary allocation etc.?

They are why management don't take shareholders seriously at AGMs. I listened to that of CWG as well and it was mostly praise singing from beginning to the end. Even the chairman was hurrying them to hasten up. I listened to NAHCO's AGM twice and there was a Dr who consistently asked intelligent questions based on the numbers in the report, grey areas that needed clarification and future plans of the business.

Comparing a company with credible German roots, the experience and competence in construction with a company that had none!

No wonder Nigeria is how it is!
Reminds me of when some people said Abacha was the ''saviour'' that Nigeria needed for good governance and all the political parties at the time unanimously endorsed him.
There will always be some useful lots available to serve the interests of some demigods in our country.!
We enjoy the drama!

Firstly, you’ve not disproved the fact before you concerning how Julius Berger was indicted by multiple credible sources.

Secondly, saying Hitech has no construction experience or expertise shows that you just started following happenings in the country a few moons back. So no more words for you. It’s the hard-at-learning type like you that politicians like.

Of course one can't rule out favouritism but it favours all other construction companies one way or another.
But the quality of Julius Berger's works across buildings and roads in different states in Nigeria has stood the test of time and earned it that quality honor by ordinary Nigerians for the most part.
So its raises eyebrow that a novel construction project in Nigeria has no Julius Berger in the mix.
Buy a new name without a famous precedence in Nigeria.

Hope Hi-tech delivers on time and quality. That's the most important thing.
Whomever got the contract award will be a secondary issue in no distant time.

Even some contracts in the North/Abuja axis that were initially awarded to Julius Berger were taken away from them and given to Hitech, with no cross bids, no tender, etc.
My brother, just relax, some people cannot say the truth because of blind loyalty to someone

That’s the point if they fail to deliver, let them be crucified! But if others have enjoyed the same favor without complaint, Hitech can do the same in peace. What needs to be corrected is how no one will enjoy that favor to the detriments of others.

Let’s settle this argument once and fall. A comparison between Hitech and JB:

“Both Julius Berger and Hitech are titans in the Nigerian construction industry, but they are often distinguished by their specific technical approaches and historical specialties regarding concrete roads.
While Julius Berger has historically been the "gold standard" for general infrastructure, Hitech has carved out a specific reputation as a pioneer for Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) in Nigeria.

1. Hitech Construction: The Concrete Specialists
Hitech is widely regarded as the expert for modern, heavy-duty concrete road construction, particularly in challenging terrains like Lagos.

• The CRCP Pioneer: Hitech introduced and popularized Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (CRCP) in Nigeria. This method uses a continuous bed of steel reinforcement without transverse joints, making the road exceptionally durable and smooth for high-traffic areas.

• Signature Projects: * The Lagos-Badagry Expressway: A massive project where they utilized concrete for durability against heavy axle loads.

• The Lekki-Epe Expressway: One of the most famous examples of their concrete road expertise.

• Dangote’s Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway: Though multi-faceted, Hitech's technical footprint is heavy in the concrete-paved sections of major industrial corridors.

2. Julius Berger: The Infrastructure Powerhouse
Julius Berger is often seen as the premier all-rounder. While they have mastered concrete technology, they are historically associated with Bituminous (Asphalt) roads and massive bridge engineering.

• Technological Innovation: They recently introduced Cold Recycling Methodology in Nigeria, which focuses on rehabilitating existing roads by reusing materials, often mixing them with cement or bitumen to create a stabilized base.

• Concrete Expertise: Their expertise is more visible in structural concrete (bridges, flyovers, and dams) rather than just the road surface itself. They built the Second Niger Bridge and the Third Mainland Bridge, which are masterpieces of reinforced concrete engineering.

• Standard of Excellence: When they do use concrete for road pavements (like in some Abuja arterial roads), the quality is considered world-class, but it isn't always their primary "calling card" in the same way it is for Hitech.

Verdict:
If your focus is specifically on rigid concrete pavement for highways (especially in coastal or water-logged areas), Hitech is currently viewed as the leading specialist in that niche. However, for structural concrete engineering (complex interchanges and bridges), Julius Berger remains the undisputed authority.”
