This market is crazy. UBA could start reversing today. It is now well below its 50 day MA. Best is to monitor closely and pull the trigger on any sign of reversal.

Itzlinda:
It is likely to drop another 10% tomorrow.

I really wished I have fund to scoop tomorrow

Lol, instead of admitting you overlooked something in your comparison, you chose to put it this way. grin

So BUA can manipulate prices but WAPCO cannot? Funny how reasoning gets weird when you choose sides.
Hope say you never dirty your eyes this Nigerian morning? 😁
Did you read my post you quoted well?

I said looking at the OS alone.....and you mentioned % ownership, of which I said it's true and that of BUACEM could be a subject of manipulations.... possibly, so what's the ommision here now? 🙄

** Note l: I didn't say it's manipulations but "could be", i.e. manipulations is possible.

I've never really understood why people care so much about share count when comparing valuation across firms. It's utterly meaningless on its own.

Value is value whether you syndicate it with 1,000 shares or 1 billion shares. Surely investors can do the simple arithmetic.

yMcy56:
BUACEMENT has 34bn OS
WAPCO has 16bn OS
DANGCEM 16.9bn OS

Just considering the OS alone, WAPCO should catch up with BUACEMENT.......na my ghetto analysis be this 😁

DANGCEM na the baba for them all...
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 11:43am On Apr 28
Technically, you have a point.
However, it's basic shareholder logic to know that OS will determine the DPS

Because share quantity counts a lot, the fewer the shares, the easier(faster) it is for a stock to move, simply due to the law of demand and supply (or scarcity, or whatever term you choose to give it). I guess, as an investor, you might find it hard to understand.

Look at Airtel Africa as an extreme case: the fair value of Airtel Africa is far above its current share price, but because the free-floating shares are so few, there isn’t enough available to move the price. The same applies if you have too many shares in circulation with too many people holding them, movement will be slower as well.

So you don't know it could have impact on the valuation?

Wapco is really going after Buacement o
This market is interesting and sometimes similar events and occurrences replicate in different sectors.

I recall when WAPCO was struggling and restructuring; selling below N20. Today, it is almost N300 and seen as going after BUACEMENT
Soon, similar comparisons could be made for Oando and Seplat/Aradel as well.
Restless Oandoites just need to ''f'okan ba'le'' grin grin

Good day great investors. I was able to offer all my UBA stocks during the pre market ( fastest fingers first (fff) In fact, i was number 17 on the tray. I was surprised that only 7,000 was sold and i was taken down on queue to #98. I thought it is a first come first serve, hence am surprised that only a paltry units of 7,000 was sold. I await who know how this works as i don't think it will get to my turn again.

But, tomorrow will be another date to offload UBA. I can even buy MEYER paint that is ready to pay N0.45k. I am a dividend investor. cool

During Premarket, do you do market or limit order?

The cement companies are doing 100% YoY growth. There is capacity expansion on the horizon for them as well. N300 is crazy but with a long term view, it’s still a buy at this point.

I have enough units (you can never really have enough) but I still buy in tranches in case I don’t get a pullback. .

I guess you too may have some ''opium'' working on you in your choice of investments.

Every investor believes in something about his/her investment. Otherwise, there would be no investments
I don't condemn any stocks.
I watch, listen, pick and buy the ones I am interested in, and ignore others. The ones I ignore today, I may buy tomorrow and vice versa.

DYOR
Not a buy or sell advice to anyone!
