Just got my NASCON and GTCO dividends.
Honestly it is sweet. I now understand clearly the reaction to UBA zero dividend, the impact is real, UBA is no longer dividend Aristocrat! Simple!
In case you don't know, some school fees depends on dividends around this time of the year.

Some facts here are not for joking sake at all.

Outstanding shares will affect the market capitalization of the stock.

The current market capitalization of BUA cement is twice that of Lafarge. Besed on their capacities, revenue, profit after tax, shareholders fund do you think that is sustainable on the long run
HesInMe:
You're right that it matters in the extreme case because of trading liquidity. But not in the cement manufacturers examples Madam gave.
No, I think WAPCO should have a higher share price based on its performance and equity, but free float is also a major factor. As explained earlier, most of BUA Cement’s shares are not tradable since they are held by the owners and institutions, so the scarcity factor is real. Under normal conditions, BUA Cement is actually overpriced, unless the market is pricing in future growth.

UBA is not a stock that you should use the dividends to pay house rent m, school fees and others.

This is the second time they will disappoint in less than 5 years.

About 4 years ago, they reduced dividends in the year the Chairman promised to increase dividend, although I sold all my shares when it happened and bought Euro bond fund and fixed income fund with the proceeds.

I sold at about N8, came back about 2 years ago to buy the shares at around N15 and sold again this month for N45 because my instinct told me UBA won't pay dividends and I don't joke with my dividends

Q1 2026 will shock people, if you have Presco hold on tightly to your stock.

Between Aradel and Presco, I don't which one will get across N3000

Is uba a buy at 44. It is obvious we would have another 10% Loss tomorrow.

50 weeks sma is around 43 but My instincts is telling me the buyers would only show up at 35-38 levels
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by debeey87(m): 4:18pm On Apr 28
Did the government take the windfall tax from FX revaluation gains that was being touted last year? The banks should at least get some respite from that this year to cushion the effect on their loan books.
