rmx:With withholding tax it will come down to between 17% and 18%. No withholding tax of FGN bond coupon There is penalty for Fixed deposit if you liquidate it before maturity. Will the bank allow to do a fixed deposit of 10 years. With the FGN bond I am sure of earning the coupon till 2035, even when interest rates fall to 10% |

Some of the stocks to the moon will be returning to Earth or at best orbit Earth. Don't be caught unaware amongst lingering euphoria. Significant earning decline will translate simply as price erosion. |

UBA will drop another -10% 2moro 28th. You have 200m stock on offer but only 20m sales happened - there are no buyers. We still have over 100m UBA stocks on bid. It should do another maximum negative return 2moro. For Access it one of my largest portfolio but i won’t buy till will see AFS 2025. If access pulls a UBA and don’t pay divident they should go below rights issue price of 19.75. On the contrary if they declare divident, the stock is going to #35 |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 11:33pm On Apr 28 |
emmanuelewumi:You don't plan to reinvest on stocks The fgn bond is different by thr yeye tax law. So moving from stock investment to fgn bond investment comes with tax |

Please the OGs in the house i need your advice. As a baby investor without much knowledge on ngx before i made these purchases... I have only 64 units of MTN i bought at 510naira. And 300 units of WAPCO with avg.cost of 171. I plan to sell my MTN shares since its so little and put the funds to top up my WAPCO. Is this a wise decision please? *Note* I have other stocks in larger quantities than these above two that some are doing well. |

How will this be treated for Capital Gain Tax. An investor sold Nahco shares at a profit of N50 million. He reinvested the proceeds by buying Zenith Bank shares which he held for 2 months before he sold it at a loss of N5 million. Will Capital Gain Tax apply in this case? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 8:13am On Apr 29 |
emmanuelewumi:You will pay CGT o . The profit is now N45m. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 8:22am On Apr 29 |
emmanuelewumi:CGT will not apply as long as the proceed is reinvested in stocks. But if the proceed was realized and invested in FGN bonds, the tax man will charge you the CGT. You can only escape the CGT if the qualified amount is reinvested in Stocks only and for the first part of your question, i understand the game you are looking at. making huge gain, then cashing it and reinvesting in stocks to make a small loss and selling everything to look like it was a loss. Naaaaaaaaa. The tax man will calculate the tax on N45 million bro |
