With 3.69 EPS ACCESS still shows that ACCESS is the cheapest among the top tier banks, but am not sure its management are ready to manage the bank better. I also hate the game they played by claiming they will pay dividend when they must have known that it is not going to happen. It is one thing to be silent on dividend payment its another thing to clearly state intention to pay. Non-payment of dividend cannot move access to 73. Number 1 reason people invest in banks is for dividends, share price growth is secondary.
You may be right sir, but I don't agree. Valuations are based on future earnings and prospects. It's a good thing that the books of all the banks are being cleaned up by a strong regulator, the CBN. In my opinion, Wema Bank seems the most organic and is being rewarded more than others. Purely my opinion. Those who understand the game will buy from those who do not. Dare to sell at CP and see if you won't find a buyer. So who is right, the one selling or the one buying? Only the future can answer that question.
I didn't say however it won't drop but only in the short term if ever it does because of those selling on this above notion creating a selling pressure. Which by the way is good for those who see prospects and are ready to buy from those who do not.

Sometimes, people forget the 100 good things you did but remember and crucify the one thing you didn't do only for the subject to continue on to do good. Apply that to UBA and Access, NB, Nestle, MTN, Guinness, and so many others. Look to the future, it's so bright you may need a sunshade. cool
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Shalom428: 5:52pm On May 01
I hope Access stays on full offer for two to three days, giving me the window to accumulate sufficient units and then let time compound the outcome. My target is a buy entry between ₦22–₦25 and an exit range of ₦45–₦50. I believe the bank presents the strongest opportunity in the sector at the moment.

At N22 Naira, I will be more than happy to buy 10M units

This is not financial advice. Please do your due diligence.

What is Common Sense theory on Conhall Q1 2026 result
Please note from the Q 1 earnings report statement, that Consolidated Hallmark earnings are not entirely organic as 18.4 billion is ascribed to Net fair value gains. This will have to be deducted to give a fairer position. Also, insurance revenue fell in Q1 2026 compared to Q1 2025. Please ignore the EPS of 184.64 kobo. Without the above, the result should be way south. I hope the above will guide your further action.

No sunshade required, we are both saying the result is not bad so i don't think we disagree on that. I am also not saying it is a bad thing that CBN is mandating the banks to clean up, i am saying its not of good faith for access to claim they will pay knowing that CBN will not allow it. UBA didn't make declaration that they will pay dividend so i wasn't too surprised when they didn't. For access however, it was not about whether they will pay, it was how much they will pay. Anyway access remains my biggest holdings in banking sector just annoying how they play the game. It is well.

Mankind2024:
From Lockdown Despair to US Stock Success: How the COVID-19 Crisis Sparked My Journey to a $200K+ Portfolio

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria's nationwide lockdown marked one of the most turbulent periods in the country's history. The future felt uncertain, and tomorrow seemed bleak.

This challenging time coincided with a severe market meltdown. The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) was deep in the red, portfolios were bleeding value, and the federal government introduced "Ways and Means" financing—essentially printing money and borrowing without asset backing.

These events pushed me to diversify beyond local markets and explore opportunities abroad.

One fateful day in 2020, while browsing the "US Stocks Pick Alert" thread on Nairaland, I discovered a foreign broker that allowed qualified Nigerians to register. I signed up successfully, though at the time, I had little idea which stocks suited me best. Day trading and chasing "hot stocks" dominated the scene.

In the beginning, it was mistake after mistake: dabbling in penny stocks, battling emotional volatility, and falling prey to greed.

Then, in 2023, I paused for reflection and committed to staying within my circle of competence. I began studying the "Magnificent 7" stocks and their profound impact on the global economy. I started carefully selecting investments in the dynamic US market.

Today, those efforts are paying off handsomely in US dollar terms. As of the close of business yesterday, my portfolio—started as a seed for my three beautiful children—stands at $203,424, with unrealized gains of $61,463.

May God continue to bless us all in the new year and beyond.

You mean UBA made an announcement similar to what access made? at: https://theaccesscorporation.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Access_Holdings_NGX_Announcement_FEB.pdf

Do you mind sharing reference to that? I may have missed it. If it is true then I stand corrected not only access played dirty in this context then

So you're just applying a P/E of 5 to annualized earnings across the board?

I’m hoping it goes on full offer Monday, just like UBA did after announcing no dividend. If we get two straight days of full offer, that would be a dream scenario for me. By the end of the week, I’ll share the volume I was able to scoop and my BE

Wapco dividend has entered. This 10% wH t is getting larger and beginning to pain me mostly as it is going to this failed government. I wish I could avoid it at this particular time
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Shalom428: 7:49pm On May 01
I understand, bro. I don’t have any ties to their management—the money laundering conversation is beyond me. I’m just an investor like you, and my chart shows ₦22–₦25 as the sweet spot for entry. That’s why I planned to go all in. If it goes on full bid Monday, I’ll hold off. For now, I don’t have the bank in my portfolio at all

I can understand, ojesky. But don't despair. The figures look good from here on. Even if it drops, it will rise again to soar. An interim would definitely be a consolation. Hopefully they would take that route now that the books are clean.

GTCO=117.80
STANBIC=143
UBA=62.20
ACCESS =73.80
ETI=104.20
ZENITH=152.80

On Common Sense. Any doing below 5% dividend are likely to tick slightly lower in the short term but will eventual soar when the past is overtaken by future hope.
Why did you use a 5X multiples
