Will the mixed Q1 results of Seplat affect the expectations of Aradel's Q1 results?

I believe Seplat had a turn around maintenance for the better part of Q1 which affected their result.

Libya pay the lowest taxes during the time of Gaddafi yet education was free, free housing, plus lots of other freebies. I use Libya intentionally because they are oil producing country like us. UAE is another, the taxes is low and see their growth.

We seem to excuse govt inefficiency with low taxes as if that is the problem. What has the resources in their hands been used for, even the so called low taxes they've collected, how have they used it for the benefit of the populace. How then do you have the moral to tax more when the one entrusted to you have been used so badly!
In 2011, during Ghadafi, Libya was producing 1.8 million barrels of oil per day to a population that is just about 6 million people.

Be circumspect when you compare. Our share population size cannot allow some things

it is possible but I don't think it will happen next year, the abracadabra magic will be massive next year, tinubu is not gej. I am preparing for 2031,I believe that is the new Nigeria.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 8:15pm On May 03
Unfortunately, there is no provision for independent candidacy. How do you hope to win elections in a democracy rooted in party politics without being a party man? You cannot win elections banking on the spontaneous anger of some social media crowd. How could 2023 not have taught him a lesson? Isn’t it obvious that Kwankwaso is only hoping to use him to gain control of South East against 2031? May we not labour for others to reap.

Is it the party that people following obi are interested or the person of obi.How old can some people be self. What is our business with the party obi uses to become president
Our interest is obi becoming president for a better Nigeria. If obi moves to apc tomorrow u will celebrate it..rubbish

My eyes on oando and Dan sugar from tomorrow till this failed government is kicked out

He has learnt his big lesson not to trust the judiciary like he did in 2023.Which is part reason for leaving adc as wike judiciary is still hiding in the shadows on adc matter as he remained thr.He knows better now that he needs to defend his votes on the streets and that is why the kano(strong northern) alliance is needed.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 8:39pm On May 03
This is the math for the price of TIP after share allotment. My average price on the floor is also 18.6. Does it make sense to sell now?

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 8:42pm On May 03
Actually it might affect them. Especially Aradel. This is the line from Seplat’s Q1
“ decline principally due to 38 days unplanned downtime on third-party operated Trans Forcados Pipeline, impacting Western Assets. Pipeline operations resumed on 24 March and Western Assets production has normalised”

Renassaince/Aradel is the owner of Trans Forcados Pipeline

Good day Loco. Good to see you here again. Thanks for your valuable insights and foresight. I'm properly positioned with patient funds.
The only regrets I've had following your stock picks were not buying Tantalizers at sub N1 or selling Tip at N3 after 100% gain. Well done Sir.

Stockpromoter:
Insurance Stocks, Recapitalization & Current Reality

Let’s be honest — insurance results right now are not impressive. Q1 numbers are weak, and compared to last year, many companies are underperforming. That part is true.

But here’s what many people are missing:

The stock market does not move based on what has already happened. It moves based on what is expected to happen next.

Recapitalization is not about today’s earnings — it is about future strength, capital injection, restructuring, and positioning. These things do not immediately reflect in Q1 results. That is why the sector can look weak on paper while still preparing for a major shift underneath.

Nobody is trading blindly. Smart traders are watching:
– Volume entering the sector
– Whether strong companies (Tier 1) begin to lead
– If buying pressure is consistent over several sessions

These are forward signals.

If you wait for results to become strong before taking position, the market would have already moved ahead — and the opportunity becomes smaller.

So yes, results are weak now. But weak results during a recap phase do not automatically mean a weak future. Sometimes, it is the exact period where positioning quietly happens.

The real question is not just:
“What are the results today?”

But also:
“What is the market preparing for next?”

That’s where the edge is.

These are BEER PARLOUR arguments that have NO business in a thread like this.

Gaddafi's Libya had a population of less than 3 Million at the start of his reign (over 95% of Nigerian states have more than that).

At the end of his reign, the population was about 6 Million (Nearly 50% or around 17 states have more people than that).

Yet Libya has MORE oil than Nigeria.

The UAE has 10.88 Million people with 300% of Nigeria's oil reserves.
UAE is using 3X the oil resources of Nigeria to take care of 5% of the population of Nigeria.

Plus, these countries are both DICTATORSHIPS with Leaders who CANNOT be challenged.

They've had leaders who can pursue their VISIONS single-mindedly and take as long as NECESSARY to execute it.

They did NOT have to deal with a CHAIN of politicians with their own unique and DIVERGING solutions to the problems of their countries.

ONE person with UNQUESTIONABLE authority given enough time and RESOURCES can achieve WONDERFUL things.

UNIFORMITY of purpose and CONTINUITY of execution is not a joke.

Nigeria on the other hand have had to DEAL with DIFFERENT people in leadership with their own blend of leadership.
With people who ABANDON what the previous leader started to start their OWN thing so they can be KNOWN for that.

Point is:

There is ZERO parallel between Nigeria and those countries you mentioned.

They are both RICHER than Nigeria in terms of oil and far SMALLER in terms of population.

Understanding why their situation is/was different (or BETTER) is common sense.

It's interesting how we just find excuses for inefficiency. So because we have a huge population is the reason we cannot increase our production. It is the reason we cannot manage what we are producing and our resources effectively. One would think our population should be an advantage, the Chinese are more populous than us but again you would argue that their system is different and call it a wrong comparison as well. Let's keep praising ourselves indulging in our mediocrity

Libya 1.78 million barrels/day ~ 6.2 million ~ 0.28 barrels Per citizen

Nigeria 2.17 million barrels/day ~ 150-157 million ~ 0.014 barrels per citizen

Libya: Each Libyan citizen’s "share" of daily production was nearly one-third of a barrel. This high concentration allowed for the heavy state subsidies on fuel and services that have historically defined the Libyan economy.

Nigeria: Despite higher total production, the share per citizen was less than 2% of a barrel. Analysts often describe Nigeria as "oil poor" relative to its population because the resource revenue is spread across so many people.
