I think the actual beer parlour argument is judging Nigerian potential with just oil. Check what number Nigeria is among nations with arable land
Namaster:
These are BEER PARLOUR arguments that have NO business in a thread like this.

Gaddafi's Libya had a population of less than 3 Million at the start of his reign (over 95% of Nigerian states have more than that).

At the end of his reign, the population was about 6 Million (Nearly 50% or around 17 states have more people than that).

Yet Libya has MORE oil than Nigeria.

The UAE has 10.88 Million people with 300% of Nigeria's oil reserves.
UAE is using 3X the oil resources of Nigeria to take care of 5% of the population of Nigeria.

Plus, these countries are both DICTATORSHIPS with Leaders who CANNOT be challenged.

They've had leaders who can pursue their VISIONS single-mindedly and take as long as NECESSARY to execute it.

They did NOT have to deal with a CHAIN of politicians with their own unique and DIVERGING solutions to the problems of their countries.

ONE person with UNQUESTIONABLE authority given enough time and RESOURCES can achieve WONDERFUL things.

UNIFORMITY of purpose and CONTINUITY of execution is not a joke.

Nigeria on the other hand have had to DEAL with DIFFERENT people in leadership with their own blend of leadership.
With people who ABANDON what the previous leader started to start their OWN thing so they can be KNOWN for that.

Point is:

There is ZERO parallel between Nigeria and those countries you mentioned.

They are both RICHER than Nigeria in terms of oil and far SMALLER in terms of population.

Understanding why their situation is/was different (or BETTER) is common sense.

Am I the only one experiencing this difficulty in placing a mandate on MorganCapital platform today or is it a general issue?

Access is not even on full offer. More buyers than sellers.
Access is obviously undervalued, so the patient investor would not mind to buy more at current price.

Last week was an opportunity of all time for me on ELLAH and I didn't dull at all... I said it here that I've been buying it at 10 naira but last week presented opportunities for me to buy at sub 10 naira and I didn't dull at all..

On what basis?
I mean what's this judgement based on?

While not disputing the possibilities, I think ZICHIS won't also stop if ELLAH comes pursuing.....
The management of ZICHIS is doing it right.....
Expansion projects going on there and shareholders are also happy......
The human face will continue to drive positive and high momentum to the stock.....coupled with growth..

That price shows the person believes access corp will close on full offer.

One of the best decisions I took this year was exiting my entire position in Transcorp. Na so the stock go dey range between 39 - 55 for the next two years. Good for Jijoist.

chimex38:
Yes, not correct.
But naa.. Don't belittle your hardwork and your breakdown process.

You didn't make double deductions for dividend as you claimed.
You rightly used the reference closing price-258 at the end. It correctly avoided the doubled deductions you implied if you had used 251.75

@ bolded
Dividing by 7 rather than 8.
seem to be the only error you made.
Corrected error
251.75 / 8 = 31.468
31.468 + 6.25. = 37.718.
258 - 37.718= 220.28

A 1 for 1 bonus requires a division by 2 (1+1=2)
Hence, a 1 for 7 bonus therefore should require a division by 8(1+7=8 )

Both you and awesomeJ's methods seem correct. Good for learning. wink
Please why dividend by 8 ? When the bonus was 1 for 7.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jonnysessy(m): 11:14am On May 04
At least I won't lose much by offloading my Access at the current price.

What do you suppose it should be?
I also indirectly explained it.

Again:
If it was 1 for 1, what will you divide by? and why?

Morgan Capital need to address the glitch in their system.
Trans corp has officially fallen by 10% but Morgan will not show it after the first few seconds of logging in.

If heaven wants to fall let it fall. The bank's management has rightly identified their problem and I suspect in the next few quarters we will begin to see those issues addressed

Good day Loco. Good to see you here again. Thanks for your valuable insights and foresight. I'm properly positioned with patient funds.
The only regrets I've had following your stock picks were not buying Tantalizers at sub N1 or selling Tip at N3 after 100% gain. Well done Sir.
