Trust Alhaji to pay more attention to upstream once OML 71&72 starts yielding something tangible... smiley

It is amazing how fast money grows once it reaches certain critical mass. Alhaji has really become an IOC in less than 3 years of his refinery opening.

This is a good move. I'll be threading this this path soon as well.

They succeeded in wasting my time today. I bidded for a share and it was on pending list for a long time. I later thought the order was executed as my order turned green. I am surprised to see that my money was credited back and no share appeared on my portfolio.

Lesson learnt :You need to register with two to three stockbrokers in case one fails you. This is another level of diversification. cool

I heard they want to use the excess funds from the PO/RI as private placement.
Private placement for what? still same TIP? to raise more debt?

But the new shares were already paid for. Why would there be a price adjustment again? Adjustment is done for bonus issues because they are allotted free and the price adjustment makes provision for them.
I think price depression will come in when the added shares depresses the EPS without much growth in earnings thereby making the market makers to adjust the price to a reasonable P/E

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Stockhunter: 6:03am On May 05
Anyone with TIP below 10 is better off holding. In the next 2 years TIP dividend will likely be above 1 naira. You know what the yield will be. Also their Uganda front brought in about 2 billion. When the capital raised is deployed expect more revenue from that front.

emmaodet:
In the short term, you have a point of taking some profits off the table but for those who want to wait it out for like 2-5 years, i think the growth rate is encouraging and impressive. There is still more room for capital appreciation

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Stockhunter: 6:12am On May 05
True. Some always look at number of units an amount can get rather than look at percentage return on the amount. Though the million of units works when you are growing with the company.

Agbalowomeri:
Our poverty mentality thinking having more means being richer. Some would rather buy millions of units in insurance than buy 1k unit of SEPLAT grin

EDUECO:
And when real business persons ask for loan; these banks will be demanding for ridiculous conditions.

Most of these bad loans are done deliberately to steal from the banks. Most of these bad debtors have known the bank management way back while in secondary school or university.Nepotism is one of the criteria used in granting loans. sad
But the last time we talked about financial crimes, you claimed that bankers make their money through hard work. grin
