From the Desk of the Gamble Editor.

Somebody who managed to insert 1 million in Zichis on the day of listing is now worth 20 million in 3 months.
If he takes profit on Monday, that money moves from the abstract to the real.

The Get-Rich-Quick phenomenon is real and legit on the NGX.

Likewise making money out the thin air.

Keep your mind open, the possibilities of life are infinite.

Always enter with Gamble funds.

NB,
Remember that Zichis has been investigated by the authorities and found without blemish.

It was available at cross trading even before listing, if you were lucky to see those who bought it's pp at possibly even under 1, and if you had the gambler's instinct to commit Gamble funds into the unknown. grin

By the way I entered Zichis at 25.81 and I'm still in it.

Does this capture the informal tax? Hmmm, how I wish, so you can see a totally different data. Someone did a report on Agbero/ MC Oluomo tax revenue sometime ago. Their revenue was mind boggling.

I know for a fact that Nigerians pay more taxes.
Even this government used it to justify the need for a tax reform. Just too much multiplicity of taxes. And there are others that you just pay on your own so you can breathe! In 2017, I spent over 500k repairing a road leading to my street so i can drive to my house in peace. I am still spending my personal money on public facilities including private biz- Ikeja electric till today.
When I moved to my house in 2015, i used to have light upward of 3 days non stop but since last year that i am placed on Band A, I now get much less after taking my bill from 4naira per kilowatt to 200+ per kilowatt.
So we actually pay more taxes here to the government- three tiers and also to the informal. That is the reality!
@Nosa

BREAKING: Lagos Moves to Ban Illegal Roadblock Tax Collection, Offenders Risk ₦2m Fine, 3-Year Jail Term

The Lagos State Government has unveiled plans to streamline taxation and eliminate illegal levies through a new bill designed to harmonise taxes, enforce electronic payments, and impose stricter penalties on unauthorized collections.

The proposal was disclosed during a public hearing at the Lagos State House of Assembly on a bill titled: “A Law to Enact the Lagos State Harmonised Taxes and Levies, to Provide for the Collection of Taxes by the State and Its Local Government Councils, and for Related Matters.”

Speaker of the House, Chief Mudashiru Obasa represented by Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, described the hearing as a platform for inclusive stakeholder engagement, stressing that effective lawmaking must reflect public input.

He noted that the bill is aimed at eliminating duplication in tax collection, improving coordination across agencies, and strengthening public service delivery.

A key feature of the proposed law is the mandatory adoption of electronic payment systems, which lawmakers say will reduce cash-based transactions, curb leakages, and enhance transparency in revenue collection.
Presenting the bill, Majority Leader Noheem Adams said the current system has been plagued by multiple illegal charges affecting residents and businesses.

He added that the legislation also aligns with recent amendments to Nigeria’s tax framework.

The draft bill further prohibits the use of roadblocks for tax and levy collection and introduces strong taxpayer protection provisions.

It also prescribes stiff penalties for offenders, including a fine of ₦2 million or up to three years imprisonment for unauthorized tax collection.

Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Femi Saheed, said the reform would improve governance efficiency and ease the burden of multiple taxation on businesses operating in the state.

Stakeholders present at the hearing included the Commissioner for Finance, Abayomi Oluyomi; Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, Opeyemi Ogungbo; Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, Ayo Subair; and representatives from professional bodies including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Now, they are trying to harmonize and capture these numerous taxes into State coffers, Not banning them but banning the illegal tax collectors.
I spent 4k yesterday on parking. 1k to pass through local airport to Ikeja. 1k to park at Ikeja Post office and 2k to park at Lagos State Fire Service at Toyota bus stop, opposite Ladipo Market. These payments go into private pockets.

@Refinedbeing, I will advise you not to bother yourself or waste your time contacting anybody. Spring Bank's license was revoked in 2011, and it became Enterprise Bank. Then, Enterprise Bank was acquired by Heritage Bank.

However, in 2024, Heritage Bank's license was revoked by the CBN. Hence, all shareholders of Spring Bank lost all their investment. So you don't have any shares to transfer. The investment is lost completely. This is one of the negative or downsides of stock investment. If the company goes under, the ordinary shareholders lose out.

Irrespective of what has happened, buying shares of reputable companies remains one of the ways of keeping the value of your money. So don't stop investing because of this experience from Spring Bank.

I found your write-up interesting and engaging, however, I would like to add something I have applied over the years and found really helpful, in fact, I rate it 10 on a 0 to 10. The application is drawn from my knowledge of Physics and is extremely important in appreciating and quantifying demand and supply imbalance.

1. Demand Volume x price is the force or energy. News can act as a force or energy through the modification of demand

Newton's First Law States, An object at rest remains at rest, or if in motion, remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by a net external force, that an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it.

An asset in motion/rest, tends to stay in motion/rest unless acted upon by an external force ( news or institutionally significant volume)

For our stock trade purposes, motion could be up trend or down unless at rest

2. Force is required to overcome a resistance.
In Physics, Force =Mass x Acceleration F=ma

In Physics applied to stock trading
Volume is Mass and price is acceleration
Volume x price indicates the Force/energy.

High demand volume with increasing price = high energy or force
High demand volume with a slowing price shows weakening of energy or force
Low demand volume even with a price appreciation is a weak force.

Imbalances are created constantly in demand and supply by the action of these forces.

In low-demand scenarios, supply is higher, price trend is downwards
In high demand, demand is higher, price trend is upwards.

Remember, force is required to sustain an uptrend and overcome supply resistance. Without that force, the trend is simply down except for an act of news provoke increase in demand. Negative News can reduce demand removing the needed force to maintain momentum. Again acting to create an imbalance.

Strong force /energy is required to break a resistance which in reality is a zone of significant supply or selling pressure.

Consolidation /accumulation are points of rest. Force is required also to move it out of this zone and if a significant news item creates an imbalance favouring down trend, so be it, a fall, and if demand volume increases, a rise. And if demand volume is low, the price will fall through.

It's all about demand versus supply. Monitoring volume with price is the key.

Simplified into the following
Is the price rising?
Is the price falling?
Is the price in a zone?
What are the Volumes, is it increasing or decreasing?
What's the force?
What's the imbalance, supply or demand imbalance?
Is the force sufficient to maintain the uptrend or overcome the resistance or price zone?

If Yes up
If No down

That's it in a nutshell.
I just hope you will be better than Sir Isaac Newton at applying physics to stock trading.
Newton's math and physics did not help him avoid a horrendous trading mishap in 1720.

He had exited from a successful JIJO with massive loot. But the same stock started even accelerating like Zichis after he had exited.
Struck by the primordial emotion of FOMO, Sir Isaac could not bear to watch the rest of the bull from the sidelines. So he gathered all the former and the later available funds and re-entered for a second round of profit taking. Shortly after that, too bad of the wicked Mr Market, in a notoriously familiar slang, the heist cast.

At age 77, Sir Isaac lost both his former and later fortunes. He was so heart-broken, it was said, that for the rest of his life, he could not bear to hear the name of that company mentioned in his presence.

He later said, "I can calculate the motions of heavenly bodies but not the madness of people".

"The madness of people" Oga Isaac could not calculate was that the ZENDIs of that market would not let him dump the same stock on them and take profit a second time when they had not taken even once themselves.

He mastered math and science, but did not master his emotion of greed, which would have saved him fortunes.

Please be advised that I write my comments as the spirit leads, and usually in my habitual everyday language with a healthy serving of nsempese terms sprinkled in. Bear with me. grin

I first bought that stock at around 14+ but village people made me misjudge something and panic-sell at 17.50 or so. The day I sold, the speed with which my SELL order was filled made me snap out of the spell of village people and I turned and started chasing it again. I finally re-entered at 25.81 and still in it..

Nosa2 said we're now playing this thing like computer game, and I concur.

I don't advise anybody to still be after it a this level, but it is blissful to be the Manager of your own money. So anybody still desperate for it has to bid at the day's high price and hope to start making money in it from the next day.

Make una leave all this hyping of new companies. When the funds raising are completed and funds are deployed into the business we know how far.
Then we do the maths of thr earnings against the new OS.
Then we know if the price is justified or pumped for a purpose. A case study is chams q1 results. Profit after tax of 188% made little impact on eps
What will be TP OS after everything compared to past OS.How much growth will make serious impact on this new OS.
I have never looked at thr results so I could be wrong I have same feeling for zichis ..abi thr ceos are equally cowboys
This is not a hype, TIP is the real deal. When you factor in the growth in oil and gas in the past 2 years, and the growth prospects based on 2.1 or 2.7 million barrels per day, Dangote refinery, Dangote Petrochemical, and others. Prospect of the mining industry. Also, the prospect of the waste to energy.

If you look at the past 4 years (2022-2025), the revenue grew averagely 144%. EPS grew significantly along the same line -0.6 (2022) to 3.81 (2025) based on 900 million shares outstanding.

Fast forward to 2026, Q1 results normalized EPS is 5.06 (900 million SO). Post RI and offers, EPS drops to 2.14 with PE of 16.8 (2.1 billion SO). This EPS is based only on 22% revenue growth. I expect them to maintain at least 80% revenue growth by end of the year which should increase EPS and further increase the valuation.

Partially dissecting their revenue generation, we can see the impact of their TDU business. TDU KWALE generated 8.5 billion (2025) vs. 2.7 billion (2024), 2.3 billion (Q1 2026) vs 460 million (Q1 2025). TDU PHC generated 829 million 2025 vs 653 million (2024), 243 million (Q1 2026) vs 101 million (Q1 2024).

They just ordered 2 additional Thermal Desorption Units (TDUs), hopefully starts operation in the second half of the year. I expect this to increase their revenue significantly, EPS and valuation accordingly.
