Every stock with its own time. While Cadbury was trading @#70+, PZ was moving between #35-#40. Now PZ is @#109, Cadbury is still around #70+. yMcy56: |

Streetinvestor2:You are making sense. He could not sell all he wanted on the market at that capitalization, so trying to sell such a large quantity significantly reduced the market cap. That is exactly what I am saying. Dangote Cement will likely not realize its current market cap if all the shares are brought to the market now. So, the current market cap is not fully realizable unless there is a buyer willing to acquire the whole company. |

ositadima1:Why does it pain some of us whenever a negative analysis is done to a stock we like. Emma is entitled to make his analysis especially when it is backed with facts and figures. That you can have same in chatgpt does not prevent him from making his own analysis. |

ositadima1:If Dangote wants to pull out N1trn from NGX he will fail woefully but if he decides to pull it out on NYSE he will succeed. Lack of liquidity doesn't mean the asset is not worth the market price. There are offices in fund management firms that handle purchases/sales simply because they want to take position without moving price too much. Your argument is right and wrong at the same time. It is right because the price will move temporarily but it is wrong because the price movement will be temporary. P.S. Did you buy some Access bank today? |

unite4real:TIP Plc has gained Ytd 185.71%, so it's lower than the Number 10th position. As for Zichis Plc, it's earlier Regulatory Suspension from the stock market this year, has technically yanked it out of Rankings for this Year 2026, till next year. However, it has gained more than most of the stocks on that List. But that is NGX Rulebook. It is what it is. |

Afromentalist:Have you seen how he reacts when someone comes on with a different opinion about the stock he is trying to promote? Did you check his countenance when NAHCO was negatively analyzed? Plus, I was joking and getting you triggered and irked for laughs. Also, the same goes for my post, I’m entitled to call anyone out. The forum is open to every school of thought. Thank you. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 6:22am On May 14 |
nosa2:Ok, let’s put the NYSE aside first. Do you know it is the same liquidity and scarcity that made it reach trillions over time? I don’t think more than 10–15% of the shares were traded in the last four or five years it took Dangote Cement to move from 115, where I initially bought it, to today’s 1115. It’s like a presidential election where you count votes from Lagos State alone to determine who becomes president. If you counted all the national votes, that candidate may not win or even come close. With a constant supply of shares available to whoever wanted them, I doubt the price would have appreciated that much. Of course, book value and future earning power are also important. So, I don’t take market capitalization too seriously unless an entity is willing to buy the entire company at that valuation. |

thebargainhunte:-was it paying dividend for past 2yrs+ when it was at lower valuation of 28/30? -What's the probability it will now pay dividend within the next 2yrs or less after this right issue to clear its books? Isn't that what is triggering the valuation now? -The dividend investor that sold 2yrs ago and invested in a dividend paying company, has he made net-loss or net-gain from his proceeds compared to what he would have made if he had mopped up DS at ₦28 2yrs ago and waited(HODL) till now? If he had kept the money under his pillow for the past 2 years, then you can be justified why he didn't mop up at 28+ and HODL. There was no RI or PO in sight to clear the books as fast as possible. The losses were huge and the organic improvement on the downline was slow and inconsistent. I am sure over 300%+ in both dividend and valuation has been made in other deployments compared to DS capital appreciation only from the same +28/30 over the 2yr period(200%). Not forgetting peace of mind. |

LASACO Assurance’s Q1 2026 results. Key numbers for Q1 2026 - ended March 31, 2026: - Profit after tax: ₦2.36 billion, up 81.5% from ₦1.30 billion in Q1 2025 - Insurance service result: ₦4.22 billion, up 119.6% from ₦1.92 billion - Net insurance and investment results: ₦5.14 billion, up 74.7% - Total assets: ₦46.20 billion, up 16.6% from ₦39.63 billion - Earnings per share: 21.29 kobo, up 81.5% from 11.73 kobo - Retained earnings: Turned positive at ₦1.55 billion, after being -₦573 million in Dec 2025. What drove it: LASACO said the growth came from improved operational efficiency, stronger underwriting performance, and disciplined execution of its growth strategy. Operating expenses rose 30.3% to ₦1.81 billion, but revenue and margins outpaced costs. Context: This Q1 2026 rebound contrasts with LASACO’s FY 2025 loss, which was driven by the absence of FX gains and higher costs. The strong Q1 is also helping its ongoing recapitalisation push. |
