AngelSlay:The old man should have transferred his assets to a Trust. The beneficiaries can only get a certain percentage of the investment income from the assets |

Streetinvestor2:I don’t understand. So if you entered earlier than that, what exactly is your argument? I’m telling you that you can enter a fundamentally weak stock, if the news flow and other factors are favorable, and still make money. Oando was the example. People who entered around ₦10–₦15 and exited around ₦60, when it was moving up and down, made more than ten years’ worth of dividends from so-called fundamentally sound stocks. You can simply tell your fellow fundamentalists, “This stock is not fundamentally sound ooo,” but that does not mean people cannot make money from it if they manage risk properly. I’m sure many people are here to make money, maybe not you, but a lot of people are. Respect their hustle. |

Kaczynski:A market crash is a Blessing when you buy wonderful (Sound )businesses. It is an opportunity to get them at cheap prices. |

Can't say much about the current regulations. Their accounts were opened several years ago when they were minors... AngelSlay: |

I am not sure the man knows anything about Trust or other investment options. There are many Nigerians like that. emmanuelewumi: |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Afromentalist: 4:44pm On May 15 |
yMcy56:I believe you miss the point. That a stock is overvalued does not mean the share price will crash tomorrow. It simply means that: it is overvalued. Those who pour their money in such stock are simply gambling and for a time may make profit. However it is important to do so knowing that it is speculation (greater fool theory) and eventually a correction might happen. Even in MMM people still made money. It does not mean it was not a scam. When water dey low, we know who was swimming naked. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 4:49pm On May 15 |
ositadima1:That is the problem. I entered Oando as a bet which I made clear then because of wale relationship to the president which was after Tinubu was declared winner @lower than #10 with target for #20.It was never based on fundamentals because I had never opened Oando results. I only did that I guess for 3 stage buy.Since it was a bet I knew it could go anyway. I was not going to cry with anyone name ...simple. The believe in the bet began to change along the way from Wale doing and improving results. The first and second move was strictly a bet which was stated in this forum |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Afromentalist: 4:49pm On May 15 |
ositadima1:Even some people investing in MMM made wonderful returns. This is no argument. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 4:57pm On May 15 |
Afromentalist:Yeah, that is correct. In the stock market, momentum is real. If you spot it early, you can ride it even when a stock is already overvalued. Some people make money by riding momentum, while people like you and Pa Ema focus on fundamental investing and dividends. Both are legitimate ways of making money on the NGX. So why should fundamental investors mock others for using a different strategy? That’s what I’m arguing against, respect people’s choices. |

IyaTola:Should have gotten in touch with Investment professional Chief Aboderin died over 40 years ago but his grandchildren still got billions of Naira from the Family Trust Fund |

ositadima1:With due respect Sir, what is your own? People asked a free question and someone generously answered and give a practical guide. BTW, I believe everyone here may not be perfect but we cannot say we do not know what we are doing sufficiently enough to take full responsibility. |

ositadima1:You know he's always said those stocks are for traders and jijoists. His quotes are there in all of them. He's only against those seeing them as an investment. and from an investment perspective, those stocks havent delivered for an average investor. You and few others quoting him are not who his posts are for. You guys are more advanced for general beginners the posts are for who even hardly comment or post often. Most are even guests. It's fine that you just like playing Devils Advocate part to balance things. But... |

feelamong:It is your fault if you raise people who are waiting to inherit things from you, raise them as you grow also. You will be surprised how 10 year old children are into investments, shares, etc. under their parent's tutelage. Each of my friends children have portfolios and they will prefer to add money to them than buy expensive clothes, they are both under 15. |
